Starion Motorsports (currently Decommissioned)
Team Manager: B.K. Glover
Team History: It's a little shack in the middle of Texas that continues making rolling scrap heaps.
....No, there isn't more....It's in the contract? Fine then, jerk.
The iteration of said shack began as NCTX Motorsports, a skeleton outfit run, managed, paid for, and campaigned for by the man himself, B.K. Glover. Originally a NASCAR competitor, the single car shed somehow managed to operate two NASCAR efforts, on Formula race team, a GT3 effort for another independent championship, and a GT2 effort for yet another. The organization now has a more capable location, but still has it's hands in approximately eight different championships at time of writing in some capacity, even if just supporting another effort.
Glover, however, had a second branch of the team planned in the instance that he found a competition he'd been waiting for, a mulit-tiered multi-discipline organization. News of the GRL's founding has brought this second division on line, as Glover is always up for racing as long as it is a good race, reported to say many times, "I'd watch a group of drunks on Big Wheels if it was a good race". The major issue facing this new division is that it's still run by the same guy, and B.K. Glover doesn't like to relinquish control, as evidence of being Owner/Manager/Driver/Crew Chief/Car Chief/Cook/PR/Transporter Driver at the same time. Working for him isn't easy, but winning isn't the prime directive of the team, that would be to simply be competitive. Glover's philosophy is ,"Wins are the ultimate goal, but to have a chance you have to be competitive first". It remains to be seen if he can do this himself though.

Summary: New branch, no change here. Yes, this is the same guy writing the checks, of course the only reason he is writing checks is because the GRL requires contracts in writing before they'll allow anyone to race. Giving up control is an issue Glover has problems with, but he's coming to the realization he just isn't cut out to be a racer. Having always been a poor boy from Texas, any motorsports beyond the odd go-kart and amusement park karts were not an option until he took the initiative to defy logic and convention. He did this by building a NASCAR Cup Series Car in a single unit shed out of any material he could find that was still usable, then made a deal to lease engines and transmissions he had no access to, or money. Had that car crashed out in the first race he would have been bankrupted, but a good run lead to stability, then growth, and then to now.
When talking about the measurable attributes, it's painful. Almost as painful as listening to the man talk about himself, read take a sledgehammer to himself. He never speaks of himself positively, and the few compliments he receives are usually taken with a grain of salt. Criticisms, in contrast, are not common from the field as Glover is almost always the first to tear into himself. At one time he was so harsh on himself that he couldn't walk without trashing himself, and while still moderately severe self-deprecating he is able to maintain himself for the most. The main change is that he now is willing to rip into those who "need" it, and that starts with a list containing the terms 'ignorant', 'arrogant', 'narcissistic', 'cowardly', and 'bigoted'.
Oh, right, ability. Lack of. Even having raced before he's never had any formal race training, most success has been due to the cars and circumstance. The hope is not all on winning, but perhaps defying the conventions again and becoming a legitimate driver. With that said, the true "scrub tier" nature is on display for all to see. Not that it phases Glover, along with insanity and idiocy he's been claiming to be the worst at everything for years, so it can only go up from here right?
Roleplaying Notes:
<Self-deprecating>
<Loner>
<Try-hard, Fail-hard, takes-it-hard>
<Uses sarcasm and exaggerations regularly, cursing/swearing is utilized versus the alternative>
<The Alternative? Physical confrontation>
<Short fused, but tries to get better about it>
<Respect and Honor are very important>

Summary:
A seemingly prim and proper maid is the last kind of person you would want behind the wheel of a 450+ horsepower, several hundred thousand CR, rear wheel drive race car. Lynette wouldn't blame you if that is in fact what you were thinking. She has, thanks to indirect influence from her mother, decided to pursue the path of a racer anyways.
At a young age, while sifting through old albums of her parents, Lynette encountered a strange set of photographs depicting her mother. She found out that her supposedly 'lady-like' mother had once been involved in road racing, and judging by the trophies and bottles of champagne in those photos, quite successful. It was ironic that her mother preached "proper" behavior while indulging in a playboy's sport. When Lynette confronted her mother for the reason as to why she was a racer, she stated that a truly proper maid should be prepared for anything.
After spending a few years in karts, Lynette started her first season in a "big" car in 2013, driving in club-level rallycross events. As part of her mother's "ready for anything" philosophy, her family-run team also had her running in small touring cars and open-wheel racers. Although a relatively steady driver in rallycross and touring cars, her results made it obvious that open-wheel was her calling, where she won two events in the British Formula Rookie series, eventually netting her 4th in the driver's standings.
Her big break nearly came in 2015, where she had been scouted by a British Formula C team after an impressive string of race wins in Formula Rookie the year before. She managed to dominate an entire race weekend at Donington, with back to back wins in her third race weekend of the season. That would quickly be marred in the following race at Brands Hatch, where a scarily massive shunt from a brake failure resulted in a suspension arm breaching her car's chassis... and her intestines. Thanks to a very quick response from the trackside safety and medical teams, she survived, but her racing season was over. Had it not been for the emotional support from her friends and teammates, her racing career would have been over from the bullying she got from a certain game developer as well.
Having recovered from her wounds, Lynette is back to racing. However, ever since her shunt that fateful day, she has been far more safety conscious than ever. Not wanting to give up her racing career, she is now looking for a sports car racing team that is willing to prove their "readiness for anything" as much as she is.
Roleplaying Notes:
- Lynette is incredibly formal, bordering on ridiculous. She even curtsies every time she introduces herself, be it in public or to her friends in private.
- In keeping with her "prim and proper" tone, Lynette will never use profanity.
- If the GRL ever has player teams run in the Grand Prix cars, keep her away from them. That shunt she had brings back bad memories for her.
- That shunt also made her really image conscious; she's deathly afraid that another wreck in a GP car will alter her looks in a place far more easily seen than her abdomen. This is one of the things that drives her to switch to sports cars.
- Manley Sue is that "certain game developer"; backed by a still-huge fanbase, he decided to use his popularity on the internet to attempt to bully Lynette out of her racing career.

Summary:
Born in the Motor City, Janet and her family ran a relatively popular service shop in what was once the very heart of the American motoring industry. Her love for all things with an engine lead Janet to help out with simple mechanic's tasks in her early teenage years. The service shop soon was visited by a group of racers, and it was there that 16-year-old Janet became interested in the world of racing. Becoming just a good mechanic wasn't going to suffice for Janet, at least not completely.
Having bought an old Mazda roadster off of one of Janet's uncles with her hard-earned allowance and tips, Janet would spend weeks in her off-hours rebuilding and restoring her newly obtained ride. After some help from the rest of her family, Janet's very first proper car was ready to go. She trained in the empty back lots for hours and hours, simply learning basic driving techniques down to absolute perfection. Janet already began to understand the thrill of just driving, and soon she wanted to become a racer. She got her driver's license after a few weeks, and then started autocrossing in grassroots events all over the state with her parents.
Janet's autocross career is where she began building a reputation for being incredibly precise and deliberate. As it turns out, some of the modifications she made were enough to occasionally beat cars that should have no right being beaten by a little dinky roadster. Sponsors took quick notice of her giant-killing abilities; after securing some minor sponsorship from a variety of parts manufacturers, Janet slowly built her roadster up into a proper, full-built race car.
As her 18th birthday passed, Janet felt it was time to go big. Or at least a lot bigger than grassroots parking lot cone killing. With some cooperation, a few local aerodynamics and chassis experts decided to back her project of building the fastest Time Attack roadster ever. It was a huge step up from her normal "regular car with a roll cage" build; with a fiery 400 horsepower turbo motor, a custom space-frame chassis, and a fiberglass wide-body kit, it went very fast indeed. Although it was a handful for her, Janet made it work, and posted consistent top five finishes at a number of Time Attack events in the various "B-list" and pro-am classes.
Her ultimate dream, however, is to be a part of a big-name team she can love. A mechanical nut in many senses of the phrase, Janet is probably just as at home under the bonnet as she is tearing it up with the boys. To her, every car she works on is something to be cherished, be it a lowly beater or a World Grand Prix champion.
Roleplaying Notes:
- As a former vehicle builder and tuner, Janet loves getting under the cars and tweaking them.
- She does, however, get exceptionally upset if something, even the slightest thing, feels unnatural when driving.
- She would prefer to have fans who like her because of her talents or her personality. Talking about her status as a minority, even if in a "positive" light, is a good way to get on her bad side.
