PUCHINO COMPETICIÓN
Team Manager: Ariel Parrilla (Parrilla)
Team Summary:
Founded in the early sixties by the ex sport cars driver and multiple times argentine stock car champion during the forties and fifties, Augusto Puchino. The small and family team enjoyed success during it's early years at countless regional championships, before joining their first international event in 1969, thanks to the help of Juan Martin Fongia (five times World Driver's Grand Prix champion), a close friend of Augusto. The team entered the "Marathon de la Route", a saloon car endurance at the Nürburgring, bringing home a second position after racing against some of Europe’s finest teams. After this, participation in international events became more frequent. Puchino Competición took part in various global sport car leagues during the seventies, and even developed a Grand Prix car in 1977 that only got to race in some non-championship events. In 1982, Augusto Puchino sadly passed away, and the team started focusing again in local championships. Between 1985 and 1998 Puchino competed intermittently in global events, with only a few victories in top tier races.
During the last two decades the team won eight argentine championships and five south-American challenges. After reaching the manager seat in 2012, Ariel Parrilla promised to make the team an international ambassador of Argentina's finest motorsport again. The team's tradition of preparing European cars was broken for the first time after Puchino started competing with Nissan engines in Argentina two years ago. After trying for half a decade, Puchino now has the funding and is ready to take part in the Global Racing League.
