Profile:
Michael Hoshi seemed to be naturally good at just about anything he gets into; athletics, the arts, cooking, whatever. He's quite fit despite not putting much effort into his athleticism, and has so many confessions and love letters from the ladies at his high school that he can't even use his locker any more. Naturally, of course, one of his racing friends got him into racing, and Mike thought that would be easy for him to get into, as well.
His observations were not totally off base; starting his 2013 season in Street Stocks (a type of low-level oval racing car), he immediately posted nearly-front of the pack results on a consistent basis. Mike's results were enough to get him noticed by a team running in the National Modified Series in 2014, but he was already bored of stock cars. He instead used his prize money towards a American Formula C seat; Mike immediately set out to dominate the series, but he was shut down by Weiss Hockenheim and would have to settle for second in the end. His 2015 season in the US Clubsport GT championship ended the same way, down to the same driver beating him to the top spot.
Things were on the up and up for ol' Mikey, when he was competing in the Einzbern Holy Grail World Series until a huge crash on the back straight at Road Atlanta put a brutally quick end to his fledgling season. Woefully under-equipped marshals and a massive interior fire meant Mikey nearly burned to death - it was to the point where his visor practically melted part of his face. His life was about to end in an agonizing way before his eyes, until a young woman, a competing driver in the series, jumped in to save him. Having feinted from his injuries, he awoke in the hospital with little to no recollection of his past.
As quickly as he was traumatized, he was back in the seat not long after, competing in the Spa 24 Hours under the IMAS Performance banner - prior to his near-fatal wreck, Mikey was on his way to an incredibly strong debut to professional GT racing. But while he maintains his incredible natural talents, his character has been completely warped and destroyed from the inside out. Since his incident, Michael Hoshi has become incredibly determined to conquer the motorsport world, and seems focused on it to the expense of just about everything else.
RP Notes:
- Since his incident at Road Atlanta, Mike almost never speaks to anyone. In fact, in interviews, he is almost always completely blank, not because he has no idea of what to say, but because he doesn't care.
- Has become incredibly difficult to read in terms of body language or emotions - he seems to always be stuck in a dead, trance-like stare.
- Absolutely hates displays of affection directed towards him, as he seems to become almost psychotically upset when someone talks cute about him.
