Team Manager: Jim Mills (aarror)
The foundation of Allstar racing began in the early 70’s, when Jim Mills opened a garage in Vancouver, BC. Alongside regular business Jim built cars for the local autocrossers and race teams, and Mills Performance soon became a well known name in the Pacific Northwest. Specializing in British sportscars like Jaguars, Triumphs, and Minis, Jim’s creations dominated the late 70’s SCCA scene and caught the eye of a few IMAS manufacturers. Just as it seemed he was going to get his big break the regulations changed, making it nearly impossible for small outfits to compete with the factory juggernauts. With business slowing down, Jim sold the garage and put his dreams on the backburner. Fast forward 30 years, and Jim was retired after a successful career. Once again building cars as a hobby, he was delighted when grandson Aaron Van der Linden asked to help out in the shop. With new creations rolling out the door on a semi-regular basis, the newly named Allstar Performance once again began to make it’s mark. After racing and winning with it’s creations in hillclimb, autocross, and road racing, the team received an invite to join the GRL. Moving to a larger shop and rapidly expanding it’s capabilities, Jim’s goal of running a professional race team finally came true. Season 1 was a baptism by fire, the team struggled to find consistent pace with their Nismo 350Z throughout the first half of the season. After extensive development work results began to improve, culminating in victory for Weiss Hockenheim in the season finale at Suzuka. For season 2 Allstar Racing moves up the the GT Pro category with the Honda HSV-010, alongside a GT-Am and Pro Tuned program. As soon as he hit 16, he bought an old Subaru and spent every free moment thrashing it around the logging roads of southern British Columbia. Lacking the budget to pursue a rally career, he was persuaded to join the local autocross club by his grandfather Jim and fell in love with the sport. After graduation he began working full time at Jim's garage, building nimble street cars and track day specials. The best way to sell your products is to race them, and Aaron brought the newly renamed Allstar Garage's best cars to the track, racing and winning in everything from autocross to hillclimb. When Allstar Racing was invited to join the GRL, Aaron finally got to fulfill his dream of racing professionally. A key reason Aaron wanted to become a racer was his fascination with Lightningcar driver Sara Hockenheim. As a child he was impressed by her aggressive style, and as he matured he had 2 other very large reasons to be a fan. Though he originally wanted to follow her path and race in Lightningcar, he quickly decided streetcars were more his thing. Aaron's attempts to emulate her tenacious style have been hit or miss, he has shown plenty of speed but his tendency to over-drive the car when in a strong position has cost him more than one race win. After a tough season 1 where he was shown the way by his teammate Weiss Hockenheim (Sara's daughter!), Aaron's ego took a big hit. Going back to his roots by joining Battle of Kaido for season 2, Aaron is looking to rediscover his confidence and take a first GRL podium. Roleplaying Notes: -Lacks self confidence, but deep down really thinks he's better than everyone else -Tends to party a bit too hard after winning -Thinks Weiss is too intense for her own good, and enjoys teasing her -Has a huge crush on Sara Hockenheim Weiss Hockenheim Net Handle: @crystalsnowfall Nationality: German Birthday and Age: January 3rd, 15 YEARS OLD Stats: Skill: 30/30 Consistency: 13/15 Preservation: 10/15 Tenacity: 10/15 Base Hiring Cost: 3,800,000 CR Experience Level: Level 59 Ranking: Gold% of Earnings Taken Each Race: 50% Specialties: Sportscar, Grand Prix
Races: 15 Pole Postions: 4 (Sara HPDE Challenge, Aeternam R4, J-Speed SNT R4, (S2) J-Speed GTM R2) Wins: 1 (J-Speed SNT R4) Podiums: 2 (J-Speed SnT Round 2, J-Speed SnT R4) Earnings: EVENT & SEASON - PLACING - CR EARNED Earnings for Season 2 = 305,000 CR Lifetime Earnings = 305,000 CR Summary: Weiss is the daughter of former Lightning Car driver Sara Hockenheim, a driver well-documented for her tenacious, unrelenting racing style. She is incredibly prideful of herself, and is unwilling to admit weakness nor seek help, not even from her mother. Weiss wasn't even really pushed into racing by her mother, either. She was strongly influenced by her mother's career choice; Weiss thought that racers were a strong, independent kind of person, and she wanted to be just like that. Weiss started karts as early as six years old, though she wasn't actually racing until she turned eight. Even on days where she wasn't out on the track, Weiss turned her parents' backyard into a makeshift kart circuit all of its own. This determination to dominate her competitors quickly translated into numerous decisive victories early in Weiss' career. Fast forward to 2014, where she became the youngest American Formula C series driver ever... and also won the league on her debut season. This angered quite a few drivers, most notably Michael Hoshi, who couldn't believe a prepubescent girl was even capable of those abilities. Just to rub it in Hoshi's face even further in 2015, she did double duty in both the American F-C league and the US Clubsport GT championship entirely to spite him. She succeeded and gave Hoshi (among other drivers) yet another through beating. However, just winning constantly didn't really satisfy Weiss. She was, after all, still funded by her parents. Hoping to break away from the accusations that she was just a very well-funded member of "Mommy's MasterFund Motorsports", she seeks a GRL seat to prove her self-worth. Roleplaying Notes: - Weiss Hockenheim puts a lot of emphasis on self-worth and the theme of "proving yourself". She's not the type who wants to admit that her teammates, friends, family, or anyone but herself are the reasons why she's as successful as she is. - Weiss is so bent on not getting help, that she views people who use their status to elevate themselves with a lot of disdain; pretty ironic considering who her mother is. - Despite seeming cold and calculated, she uses her outward demeanor to shield away her insecurities. She has trouble in day-to-day social situations, and seems to go through her press interviews as if she was reading straight off of a script. - Even though her racing history suggests she's American (and kind of is), Weiss was born in Germany, and prefers her nationality be listed as such. - She thinks Michael's 'natural talent' is a load of horse crap, and holds a pretty big grudge against him for it. Taiga Fujiwara
Net Handle: @eyeofthetaiga Nationality: Japanese Birthday and Age: January 30th, 24 YEARS OLD Stats: Skill: 28 / 30 Consistency: 12 / 15 Preservation: 7 / 15 Tenacity: 15 / 15 Initial Hiring Cost: 2 ,800,000 CRExperience Level: 58 Ranking: Gold% of Earnings Taken Per Race: 50% Specialties: Sports car Races: 3 Pole Positions: 0 Wins: 0 Podiums: 1 (J-Speed GTM R2) Top 5s: 1 Top 10s: 2 Earnings: EVENT & SEASON - PLACING - CR EARNED Earnings for Season X = 342,500 CRLifetime Earnings = 342,500 CRSummary: Born in Fukui, Japan, Taiga Fujiwara was a bright and cheerful child, but seemed to lack any real direction. In an attempt to find a cure for her laziness her parents made her enroll in as many clubs as possible, from kendo to go-carting. To their surprise Taiga was fiercely competitive, and through hard work and sheer determination she rose to become one of the top students both athletically and academically in her school. Her 'take no prisoners' attitude on the track and in the dojo earned her the nickname "the Tiger of Fukui", though her classmates were too scared to say it to her face. Her aggressive style served her well in the cutthroat ranks of junior carting and she employed it to great success, taking the regional title in her junior and sophomore years and winning the Japanese championship in her senior year. Upon graduating she was offered a ride in the Super Taikyu series, and she stepped into her new role with ease. Totally unphased by the massive power and weight increase, Taiga wasn't afraid to throw the car around to get it to perform how she wanted. In her first race at Suzuki her car pitched into a drift entering the infamous 130R, and to the shock and amazement of her new team Taiga wrestled it back under control. Unperturbed by this huge moment she went on to catch and pass the leaders to take a win on her series debut. Her aggression caught her out at the most crucial times however, and she never took the title despite winning more races than any other driver in her 3 years of competition. Taiga doesn't know the meaning of "taking it easy", from the first lap of practice to the last lap of the race she is always flat out. She has supreme confidence in her own abilities, which inspires her to take huge risks on track. This has caused more than a few huge crashes when her ambition has outweighed her talent. Despite her aggression on the track her friendly nature makes her extremely popular off it, though her childish and carefree attitude can get on people's nerves. Roleplaying Notes: -Super aggressive on track, carefree and lazy off track -Acts like a big sister to her teammates -Almost always bright and cheerful -HATES it when people call her 'Tiger' instead of Taiga -Although driving and Kendo are what she's best known for, Taiga is also a pretty good painter. She often paints during her downtime on race weekends Andreas Brunestud Net Handle: @rebelliousprince Nationality: Norwegian Birthday and Age: December 3rd, 21 YEARS OLD Stats: Skill: 21/30 Consistency: 12/15 Preservation: 10/15 Tenacity: 7/15 Base Hiring Cost: 1,180,000 CR Experience Level: 46 Ranking: Silver% of Earnings Taken Per Race: 30% Specialties: Sportscar Races: 7 Earnings: EVENT & SEASON - PLACING - CR EARNED Earnings for Season 2 = 147,000 CR Lifetime Earnings = 147,000 CR Summary: Born into the ridiculously wealthy Brunestud family of nobles and socialites, Andreas was the life of ultra-high-class parties in France and the UK; but all the talk and lack of action quickly bored him, and so he sought new purpose. Using insane amounts of money to get trained by some of the world's best drivers, he got bit by the speed bug. Badly. He's the subject of many drivers' jokes due to his extremely feminine appearance, not at all helped by Andreas' ultra long, past-his-hips blonde hair. Indeed, despite being an absolutely girly pretty boy, there isn't much that's girly about Andreas' racing career. Having paid a former Almighty Racing League two-times champion a VERY healthy sum to help train his driving abilities, his first season in the 2014 pro-am European Endurance Open was a quiet, but largely successful season; he secured a number of high finishes on the basis of ensuring he ran a totally clean race, allowing him to make up a large amount of positions towards the end. He would finish out the season 6th overall after a lapped car wrecked Andreas in the final round. His previous season was fairly impressive, but Andreas was not totally satisfied. After some more training in the winter, 2015 was a brush up on his pace, something he felt was lacking the year before. It paid off, as he scored his first victory at Monza, although otherwise the season was his usual uneventful sneaking into the top five finishes. Andreas later finished third overall that season. However, his races that year were, aside from his first win, not the thing he notes about. A British Formula C driver was making big waves in her home country; despite having a prim-and-proper servant image, she was a driver who had great aspirations. Andreas, despite wanting to shun most of his 'boring' high-class roots, instantly began having a huge crush on Lynette Adelaide. Another driver, just like him, wanting to move away from the boring high-class life? And that driver was a woman!? Though Andreas is a wealthy nutter thanks to his family's noble bloodlines, he would rather earn most of his reputation the hard way. He doesn't seem to mind a challenge, and despite his obscene riches, happily admits there is no shame in being weak. Though people can and absolutely will laugh at his rather girly looks, he's surprisingly cool about it. Roleplaying Notes: - Andreas crushes HARD on Lynette Adelaide; he admires her determination and drive to keep her racing career going despite constant bullying from a game developer's rabid fans and going through a crash that nearly killed her. - Although Andreas is pretty formal off the track, he addresses his close friends and teammates in a very casual, laid-back manner. - Like Weiss Hockenheim, Andreas doesn't particularly like it when people flaunt their status in society and use it as their only means to build their reputation. After all the success with the karts, she made the move into the bigger cars, spending two seasons racing GT Lights and Base Formula Cars simultaneously and now is moving to the Global scene, looking to continue her father's legacy. Roleplaying Notes: • She is very intelligent, understands complex stuff with ease, despite this, she has trouble figuring out most of the jokes and puns. • Enjoys a lot being surrounded with technological stuff, she will probably feel just at home when she gets to drive a Works Prototype. • She stops working just like an old computer whenever love, crushes and other similar stuff is brought up in a conversation. Allstar Racing Paddock Pass: Catalu-NYA and Sara Hockenheim's HPDE ChallengeAfter a disappointing start to the year at Motegi, Allstar Racing bounced back in a big way this weekend with a pair of top five finishes, including the team's first podium finish in GRL competition. It started with the Catalu-NYA Challenge cup, where both cars qualified in the top half of the field. A strong race from Aaron Van der Linden saw him bring the car home in P5 after a long battle up front. The big news however came in the following race at Sara Hockenheim's HPDE Challenge, as Weiss Hockenheim not only finished second in class for her and Allstar Racing's first podium finish, but she also beat her mother to the flag! Let's get some reactions from today's breakout driver:
Reporter: "Weiss Hockenheim, congrats on your first podium finish! But perhaps more importantly, you beat your mom! How are you feeling right now?"
Weiss Hockenheim: *smiles despite herself* "Well, this should shut up anybody who thought I wasn't ready to step up the the GRL. I beat Jack and Stefano and Mom in the same car, I think that proves I'm up to the challenge. It's so cool to beat Mom at her own event, I mean I always knew I could but it shows how far I've come as a driver. *big smile*
Reporter: "It certainly does. Pole position and a podium finish, and you've graduated from the Academy class. So what's next for Weiss Hockenheim?"
Weiss Hockenheim: "I'm going to prove I can race with anyone in the field. I've got the my first pole position and first podium, now I'm going to try to get my first win as well.
Reporter: There you have it, even the Ice Princess can't play it cool after beating Mom.

Allstar Racing Paddock Pass: Monza
After a slow start to the Aeternam Euro Sportscar Series at Hockenheim, Allstar Racing headed to Monza knowing it would be another tough race. With the Nissan 350z lacking top speed compared to it's rivals, Italy's cathedral of speed was sure to be another frustrating race for the drivers of the #71 and #72. After making up half a second in pre-race testing, the team was optimistic for a stronger race this time around. That optimism died in qualifying, when Weiss Hockenheim and Aaron Van der Linden couldn't get any higher than 15th and 16th on the grid. When you start in the midfield you're always asking for trouble, and trouble found Weiss on lap 1 as she dropped from 15th to 20th. Aaron inherited 15th place, but it was clear this would be a long race. Both drivers steadily made their way through the field as the race went on, avoiding the chaos and destruction to bring the cars home unscathed. Aaron would score the team's best result of the young season, narrowly missing out on a Top 10 finish in 11th. Weiss managed to return to her starting position of 15th, but was unable to advance further up the grid.
Race Positions: Aaron Van der Linden: 11th Weiss Hockenheim: 15th
Championship Positions: Allstar Racing: 9th (8pts) Aaron Van der Linden: 16th (5pts) Weiss Hockenheim: 19th (3pts)

(Aaron is in narration of this post)
"Alright, that should do it. Thanks for helping out Aaron"
"No worries guys, least I could do considering I'm the one who wrecked her in the first place"
"Hah, well she's not going to be our problem for much longer. I hear Jim has got a buyer lined up, so say goodbye to Layla."
*intercom*
"Could Weiss and Aaron please report to my office.'
"I'd better head up there, you know he doesn't like to be kept waiting. See you guys later."
Jim was on his phone as I headed up the stairs and into his office. Weiss was already seated at the table, looking as confused as I was. If Jim wanted to talk to you he normally did it one on one, rather than in a group setting. As I took a seat beside Weiss, I couldn't help but notice the papers scattered all over the table, sticky notes seemingly placed at random.
Jim closed the door and sat down at his desk.
"Right, I guess you're wondering why I called you up here when you should all be getting ready to head off for a well deserved break. I just wanted to go over a few things about next season before it all starts going crazy in the next few weeks. Thanks to Weiss' win at Suzuka and our subsequent championship finish, our finances are looking very healthy. This means we have a lot of options for next season, and I'll be wanting your advice on where we're going. Our IMAS Stormsystems Championship program is nearly finalized, all we need now are the cars and drivers. Weiss, you impressed the hell out of me this season, I think you've showed that you're more than capable of moving up to the pro ranks. We would like to offer you a spot in one of our Pro cars next season.
"I'm glad you see me as the driver to take the team forward. Winning in J-Speed was good, but racing against the best drivers and teams in GT-Pro is the perfect place for me to show what I'm capable of."
She may not have smiled, but you could see from the fire in her eyes that Weiss couldn't wait to get behind the wheel of whatever Pro class car we ended up buying. She's so damn serious, it's kind of hard to like her. Maybe if I can get her to hang out with Amy some of that 'Meowa Powaa' and positive energy would rub off on her. Hell, she might even smile!
Jim cleared his throat: "You didn't let me finish Weiss. I offer you the seat with one condition: That you take an elite driver training course. I know that you like to think that you can teach yourself everything, but if you're going to be racing in Pro you'll need some professional training if you want to run up front. I've tentatively got you booked for a month-long course at the Nurburgring, where you'll be instructed by the best: Works prototype drivers from Audi and Porsche, GT-Pro factory aces, and open wheel stars. It's a fantastic opportunity to learn from the best in the buisness, and I expect you to soak up as much information as possible. Of course, there will also be a significant pay raise once you've completed the training. When you get back, there will be a shiny new contract on your desk and a new car in the garage. I hope you realize the opportunity here for what it is, and grab it with both hands."
Aaaand the frown is back. Man, I'd be stoked to go on a training session like that! She looks like her dog just died or something. Oh well, thrashing racecars around the ring for a month should cheer her up.
Jim turned his attention to me."Aaron, you don't need me to tell you that you had a tough season. In trying to outdo Weiss you made some errors that cost us a shot at the title in J-Speed, and we can't have those kind of mistakes in IMAS. So as much as it hurts me to say this, you won't be driving for us in GT-Pro next season. That doesn't mean you'll be sitting on the sidelines though, I'll be looking for your input into what series you'd like to compete in next season. We have the option to return to GT-Am, pursue the open wheel option, or go back to our roots in the Tuner league. I know you're disappointed right now, but take some time to think about it and then come back and talk to me."
*Sigh* "Yeah okay, I'll think about it."
Forget disappointed, I'm fucking pissed. I mean, in races Weiss and I were pretty close, evening out at 5-5. I just had the misfortune of beating her before we figured out the car. Ugh, whatever. I'll go get smashed on a beach somewhere and forget about all this. I wonder if Sara is free next week...
"And that concludes what I called you up here for. I'll meet you all back at the shop in 5 weeks time, hopefully I'll have a better idea of what we'll be doing by then.
*Jim stands up from his desk, picks up a folder marker "drivers" and walks out. I can just make out the word Daytona from the page sticking out the top*
Weiss looked over at me with a slightly worried look on her face, "Uhh Aaron, are you..."
"It's okay Weiss, you don't have to pretend that you care. Enjoy your GT-Pro drive and your once in a lifetime training course."
I stormed out of the room, which was probably a dick move since Weiss seemed like she genuinely did care. I just don't want anyone's pity right now, I know it's my fault I didn't get the promotion. Right, it's about time I forgot all of this. I'm gonna hit the beach. Offseason, here I come!

(This post takes place after Weiss has returned from her training session) This post in from Aaron's POV:
"Well this is a surprise Aaron, I didn't think you were back until Monday." Jim exclaims as I walk into the office.
"Yeah, I decided to stop by and check out the renovations. And the guys said they had a surprise for me, which made me a little nervous. Hey, is Weiss back yet? I need to talk to her." Need to apologize would be more accurate. I treated her like dirt at that end of season meeting, and I've felt guilty about it ever since.
Jim raised his eyebrows slightly. "Yes she is, she's grown a bit so she's in the garage getting a new seat insert made.
"Ah, thanks. I'll head down there then. See ya!"~
When I get down to the garage I see Weiss standing around looking bored. Jim is right, she's definitely taller. Still flatter than Ryoko though, she certainly hasn't inherited her mom's figure.
"Hey Weiss" I call out.
"Oh, hello Aaron. You've returned. Welcome back."
"Yeah, you too. Um, hey..." Damn, this is going to be harder than I thought.
"Listen, about what happened at the end of season meeting..."
Weiss just stares at me.
*sigh* "Look, I was a jerk okay? I was frustrated and I took it out on you when you were just trying to be nice. I'm sorry. If there's any way I can make it up to you, just let me know."
Weiss looks kind of surprised. "You aren't mad anymore?"
"I took some time to calm down and I've moved on. But more importantly, you're not mad at me for being such a jerk? I thought you wouldn't even talk to me."
"No, I would have been angry too." She says, although her face tells me she hasn't quite forgiven me.
"So we're good then?"
"Yes. We are good."
So glad that's done. I step forward and give Weiss a hug.Weiss just stands there, arms at her sides, with an uncomfortable expression on her face.
"Um, Aaron?" she stammers "W-what are you doing?" ... Well this is awkward.
"Uh, I'm hugging you, we're hugging it out" I manage to say, embarrassed.
Her face goes a brilliant shade of red. I'm not sure if it's because I'm hugging her, or because she's embarrassed she didn't hug me back.
I step back. Oh man, this is so awkward. Time to make a rapid exit. "So um, glad that's settled. See you later Weiss".
I turn to head to the other side of the garage.
"Wait."
I look back. "Yeah, what's up?"
Weiss looks down at the floor. "My mom is taking me out for dinner tonight. Would you like to join us?"
"..." Now it's my turn to go red.
"Is something wrong?" Weiss asks. Yeah, I have a huge crush on your mom. Oh man, I just realized how weird that is. What the hell is wrong with me? At least with Weiss and I in different series this season I have less of a chance of running into Sara. "No, I'm just surprised. We never hang out away from the track. Hell, we don't really hang out at the track either."
"Yes. When my mom and I had dinner with Amy and Hannah, Hannah mentioned that we hadn't spoke much before. My mom told me I should spend more time with my fellow racers."
Ah, so she did meet the Raiden girls at her training course. I wonder what she thought of Amy? Or what Amy thought of her for that matter. I'll have to talk to Hannah about it if I get the chance.
"I'm sorry Weiss, I'm going to have to decline your offer tonight. I still have some stuff to do here, and I said I'd hang out with some of the guys after work. We'll have to do dinner another time."
"Okay, I will see you Monday then." Maybe I'm imagining it, but Weiss almost looks disappointed. Oh well, no time to think about missed opportunities.

Weiss begins narration of this post.
~Allstar Racing Garage, Suzuka Circuit, Japan~
"Alright, so we'll try that for the first session and then make changes from there. Thanks for your input everyone, this should be a good base." Jim stood up from the table. "Alright, let's break for lunch."
Everyone around the table breathed a sigh of relief. Jim can get carried away during his planning sessions, we'd already been here 2 hours longer than expected. Besides, I was looking forward to talking with the engineers about the upgrades going on the cars tonight. Just as I went to get up however, a familiar face burst through the open door.
"Hey, looks like I caught everyone at a good time!" Aaron exclaimed with a huge smile on his face. He was carrying an armful of gift-wrapped packages, which he placed on the table. "I was on my way back from the tuner village and decided to pick up a little something for everyone. Right, you're going to be doing a lot of travelling this season Jim, and they say it gets lonely on the road. This should help with that." Aaron tossed what appears to be a large pillow wrapped in Garage House Tsuchigami wrapping paper to Jim. "Uh, maybe open that one when your wife isn't around." He continued handing out gifts to each of the engineers, before turning to Taiga and I. "I haven't forgotten about you two, your gifts are down in the garage. But before you open those, I've got another gift for the ladies." Aaron turned toward the door and gave a half bow: "May I introduce Andreas Brunestud."
"!" I gasped involuntarily. In walked a man who could only be described as beautiful. Long blond hair framed his slightly feminine face, continued down past his well toned torso and ended just past his waist. He looked like a prince straight from a fairy tale. Andreas wore a faintly amused look on his face, he clearly didn't know how Aaron had planned to introduce him. "Andreas is going to be driving with us in GTE-AM this season. He had a tough season with Aces High but he's one of the most consistent drivers out there, so we're going to see what he can do in better equipment. He's also exceptionally handsome, though going by your reactions you've already noticed that. I’ll leave you all to get acquainted. Weiss, Taiga, if you can tear yourselves away I'll give you your gifts now." Taiga punched me in the arm playfully. "C'mon Weiss, we'll be racing with him all season so you can admire him later. I want to open presents!" Before I had a chance to respond, Taiga was pulling me out of the room.
Post switches to Aaron's POV.
"Easy Taiga, you're like a kid on Christmas morning. You're going to pull Weiss' arm off if you keep that up." Taiga turned to me and grinned. "But it was the only way to get her out of the room! Did you see how she was looking at Andreas? She's in loooove." Weiss' face went bright red, and she turned away slightly as if to hide. "N-no!" She stammered. Taiga winked at me. "Suuuure. Anyways Aaron, where's my present!"
I shook my head in disbelief. She really is a child ìn an adult's body. I grabbed the packages I had prepared and handed them to Weiss and Taiga. Weiss carefully peeled back the wrapping paper, while Taiga ripped it off all in one go. Before Weiss had even got it half off, Taiga had already opened her box and was admiring her gift. "Wow, a tiger striped race suit! I love it!" She exclaimed as she held it up. "Thank you!" She gave me a quick hug before rushing off to the women's changing room to try it on. "Whew, buying clothes for women is always a gamble, but I'm 1 for 1 so far. Why don't you open yours, Weiss?" I grinned. Weiss opened the box to reveal a 'Princess Ai' Circuit spec race suit, in custom light blue with white frills and silver trim. She looked up at me in surprise "Aaron, I think they messed up your order. This is a princess costume, not a race suit." I laughed. "Actually Weiss, it's a fully homologated GRL race suit, Ai Tsuchigami herself wears one in competition. And nobody messed up my order, I had that one custom made for you. What do you think?" "I, um..." The look on her face seemed to say that she wanted to tell me she didn't like it, but didn't want to hurt my feelings. Or maybe it was saying that she really did like it, but she didn't want me to know. I don't know man, women are an enigma. "What, you don't like it?" I put on my best pouting face. "N-no, it's not that. Um, I mean, it's not very practical for racing. I'm not used to racing in something like this." Weiss was looking incredibly awkward. "I went to all the trouble ordering it for you, will you at least try it on? You might like it!" I put on my best pouting look. Weiss just sighed and turned around. As she walked to the dressing room, I sent a quick text. Part 1 of the plan was complete, now it was time to bring in my accomplice.
----A few minutes later----
Weiss shyly stepped out of the dressing room. As she walked towards me I burst out laughing. I couldn't help it, she looked adorable in her princess suit, and the embarrassed look on her face was incredibly cute. "It totally suits you! It's like you were born to wear it! So, do you like it?" "N-no." Weiss muttered as she stared at the floor. "Aww, that's too bad. I think it really suits you. What do you think, Mrs. Hockenheim?" "My little Weissy-poo looks beautiful" My partner in crime, Sara Hockenheim, stepped out of the lunchroom. "But I think she would look even better in this one!" She stated cheerfully as she held up a bubblegum pink Princess Ai suit. Maybe, but not as good as Sara looks in those yoga pants. I'd like to... Ah! NO! She's right there. Whew, deep breath. Okay, calm down Aaron. You've got this.
Weiss was looking back and forth between the pink suit, and the blue one she was wearing. She glanced at Sara, and then me, as if in a plea for help. Alright, time to step in and save her. "Oh, Weiss? There is a third option." I smiled. "Since the works trial is so important, I thought I'd give you a little extra motivation to do well. I grabbed the box I had hidden behind the door, and opened it. "This is a normal team suit, like mine and Andreas'. If you beat Ai Tsuchigami and win us the works contract, I'll give you this suit. If you lose to Ai but beat your Mom, you can keep the blue Princess suit. But if your Mom beats you, you have to wear the pink one. Does that sound fair to you?" Weiss looked back and forth between me and Sara. “What, you don’t think you can do it?” I lay down the challenge. The best way to get Weiss to do what you want is to tell her you don’t think she can do it. I mean, you have to put up with her smugness if she actually pulls it off, but it works every time. “I can do it. I beat Mom before, I can do it again.” Weiss looked me in the eyes defiantly. “Excellent, it’s a deal then! Lets celebrate with dinner, Taiga was telling about an awesome restaurant not far from the circuit.” As Weiss walked back to the dressing room to get changed, Sara and I exchanged grins. That went exactly to plan. I even got Sara’s number, which was a nice bonus. Yep, it’s early days yet but I’m already liking season 2 a whole lot better than season 1.

This post is narrated by Aaron Van der Linden Flying. It was cool the first time, but now it's my least favourite part about racing. The waiting forever at the airport, then the long dull journey where you can’t move around and then the chaos of desperately searching for your bag in the luggage carousel and hoping the airline didn’t lose it. Flying sucks. Unless that is, you end up on the same flight as Amy Radcliffe. We’re two of the drivers doing double duty in the endurance leagues and Battle of Kaido, and after the race in Adelaide everyone was rushing to catch flights to Japan to get some practice runs in before the competition begins on Thursday. I was just happy to get out of the garage after the race, the atmosphere was toxic. Andreas wasn’t talking to Taiga because she ran him off the road, Weiss wasn’t talking to anyone because she was too angry at herself for spinning, and Jim was hurling verbal abuse at all of us for failing to convert our strong starting positions into a podium. Trying to clear my head I put my headphones in as I headed to the waiting area, not really paying attention to where I was going... WHAM! Next thing I knew I was flat on my back. Something enormous had just run over me at breakneck speed, maybe a semi truck or a tank. As I lay on the ground totally disoriented, I heard an unmistakable voice: “Oh my jeeble jums! Aaron! Whats ya doin on the ground there?” Ah, I see. It wasn’t a semi truck after all, it was just Amy. I got up and did a quick check to make sure nothing was broken, then sighed. First I got beat up by the Pro drivers on the track, and now they’re beating me up in the airport as well? “Hey Amy. I uh, I slipped.” Somehow that seemed better than admitting she absolutely leveled me. “So, you’re on the next flight as well then?” "Ya siree! Gots to head to the Kaido battles, so will be going over to there!" “Yeah, me too. We’re not the only ones on the flight it seems, the Japanese teams must heading home in between races.” As if to prove my point, Amy’s teammate Hannah turned to Giu Ansaldi and waved. As she did so, she knocked her baggage into the path of Kasumi Yamasa and Hildegaard Kankkunen. Hilde gracefully stepped around it, but Kasumi tripped and spilled her drink down the front of her shirt. As an apologetic Hannah checked to see if she was okay, our flight number was called over the PA system. On the flight Amy bombarded me with conversation about cats, our fellow drivers, and pretty much everything in between; and before I knew it we had arrived in Japan. As Amy and I got off the plane, every head turned to watch us pass. We must have been a strange sight in the sea of buisness suits: Me, a 6 foot 1 guy in board shorts and flip flops topped off with a Star2Star T-shirt and a plaid toque; and the very energetic Amy in her cat onesie. The sea of people parted for us as we made our way to the baggage carousel. Amy soaked up the attention, giving autographs and posing for pictures as I slowly maneuvered us to the exit. After half an hour we finally got out of the terminal. “I guess this is where we part ways Amy, I’ll see you at the track on Thursday. That is unless you’d like to meet up tomorrow for a little practice?” "A bit of practice, yaaa? That'd totally be cool! Just make sure your not too distracted by my ultra superbial skills!" -Hannah interrupted from behind- "You've only driven your car around town, Amy." "I don't need much practice y'see Hanny! I- sigh nyaaa, but I'd still be up for it Lindy!" “Awesome! I’ll see you tomorrow then.” With a wave, I shook my head and got in my rental car. I can’t let her start calling me ‘Lindy”, but it’s hard to say no to Amy. Oh well, I should have enough time for a quick nap before heading to Garage House Tsuchigami to pick up my S15. I haven’t seen the car since it was a stock chassis, so I can’t wait to check it out in full Kaido spec with race livery! To be continued...
Thanks Formidable for letting me use Amie, and for helping with her lines

Continued from previous post...
The next morning...As I walked into the paddock at Gunsai Cycle Sports Center, I could hardly contain my excitement. Okay, so Adelaide was a bit of a disaster and my teammates were at each other’s throats, but right now that was the furthest thing from my mind. Today was the day I would finally get to drive my new car, a Nissan Silvia S15 tuned by Ai Tsuchigami herself! The car had already been off to be painted, and the last bit of tuning up had been completed the night before. Just in time for me to get in some practice before tomorrow’s qualifiers. The paddock was beginning to fill with people, with many like me arriving from Australia the night before. As I walked past the garages I noticed some new names, and plenty of familiar faces. A blue and pink NSX sat outside the Dragoon Racing Project garage, while Tomoko Ishigawa and a man with a shock of brown and red hair whom I didn’t recognise stood outside the garage marked “Underground Racing”.The door was closed so I couldn’t see their car choice, though if Tomie was there it must be AWD. The different approaches were fascinating, Team Pezzarinho had a full compliment of crew preparing their Lotii while over at Starion Motorsports I waved at Janet Evans, cheerfully working away on her RX-7. Allstar was a mix between the two, most of our crew was staying in Australia to prep the cars for Bathurst while Garnette Bristol and a few of our most experienced members were joining me in Japan. Garnette had nearly jumped out of her chair when Jim had asked her if she wanted to pick up the car from Garage House Tsuchigami and bring it to the track. I smiled as I entered the garage: The smell of bacon was in the air and “The Tragically Hip” was playing on the stereo, it felt like home. Sitting between the toolboxes was my new car, covered in a black sheet. Garnette was munching on a breakfast sandwich while looking over some data on her laptop, while the rest of the crew were tossing a football around while they waited for her to tell them what she wanted changed next. “Good morning Garnette!” I grinned as I sat down opposite her, “couldn’t wait until our shakedown later to start crunching some numbers, eh?” “Oh, good morning Aaron” Garnette adjusted her glasses as she looked up at me. “I just wanted to make sure my numbers were correct. I’ll need you to do some constant speed runs to make sure my upgrades are working correctly.” I nodded as I made myself a coffee. It’s not that I wasn’t paying attention, but most of the stuff Garnette does is way over my head. I prefer Akiha’s “hands-on” approach to tuning. Garnette shot me a shy look: “Uh, Aaron? I know you said the livery was going to stand out, but, um… Is this really okay?” Huh? It’s not that crazy, I guess it isn’t Allstar Racing colours but this is tuner league! It’s going to look mean under the lights. “Nah, it’ll be fine. I can’t wait to see it!” Garnette gave me a funny look: “Alright, if you say so. Okay guys, show Aaron his car.” My jaw dropped open, and all the colour drained from my face. “Uhhh…” W-what is going on!? That’s not what I asked for at all! Not that I don’t like it mind you, but what if Weiss sees it? Or even worse, what if Sara sees it!? I’d die of embarrassment. “Hey Aaron, does Weiss know about this?” “Ooh, I’ll send her a picture!” The crew laughed as they watched my reaction. Alright, which one of these bastards did this? “Alright, you’ve had your laugh. Now own up, who's idea was this?” They looked at each other, then as one looked at Garnette. She sighed and turned to me: “It was yours, Aaron. This is the picture you sent the paint shop.” She held up her phone. On it was one of my favourite pictures of Sara, her maid cosplay pinup from the “Motorsport Maidens” issue of Fanservice Magazine, the same picture that now adorned the side of my S15. “N-no, I definitely didn’t send them that? Why would I send them that?” I frantically pulled out my phone and checked my “sent emails” folder. Just as she said, I sent the Sara picture instead of the livery concept I had drawn up. Damn. Damndamndamndamndamn. How did I mess this up!? “The guy at the paint shop was surprised, they do itasha liveries all the time but they’d never seen a request for someone who wasn’t a fictional character. He said he really enjoyed the challenge though, and that he was going to come out to the track to cheer you on this weekend. He thinks you’ll be hugely popular with the fans.” I sighed. “There’s no chance of getting it changed then?” “Not in time for this weekend anyway. Hey, it might bring you luck, you never know!” Garnette smiled evilly. I never had her down as someone who enjoyed others’ discomfort, but it seems I’ll have to reevaluate her. “Ugh, fine. If any of you want to leave Gunsai alive, you won’t send those pictures to Weiss or Sara. Understood?” I glared at them, with my gaze lingering on Garnette before she nodded, though her grin said otherwise. “Good. Now get the car ready, I told Amy I’d practice with her this afternoon and I don’t intend to break that promise. Now get to work!” I turned and walked to the dressing room, where I put my head in my hands. It can only get better from here, right?

Allstar Racing HQ, post Bathurst
Jim Mills rubbed his eyes as he got up from behind his desk. It had been a rough week, with 2 cars to rebuild after a tumultuous race at Mount Panorama. Despite showing plenty of speed Allstar Racing only had a single podium to show for it, and Jim was feeling the pressure. When the field is this tight you have to make full use of any advantage you can get, and thus far the team had thrown away 2 possible wins. For now he had to put that behind him however, as there was another issue he had to deal with. Adjusting his glasses, Jim spoke into the intercom system. “Akiha Nakai, please report to my office”. Jim sighed. He wasn’t looking forward to this.
“Doesn’t he know I’m busy, that engine isn’t going to rebuild itself” grumbled Akiha as she walked up the stairs to Jim’s office. After running the Tuner Village the past few years she was new to taking orders from someone who wasn’t her mother, and Akiha found she didn’t really like it. She could see herself sitting in that comfortable recliner looking out over the shop floor, shouting orders at the crew while sipping her tea. Yes, Akiha didn’t plan on staying a mere engineer for long. As she walked into the office, she saw Jim had on a serious expression.
“Have a seat, Ms. Nakai” Jim motioned to a chair across the desk as he closed the door. “We need to have a talk. I was going to let this slide, but your mother advised me that if I don’t do something now I’ll lose control of the situation.” Akiha felt a chill down her spine: Why was her Mother calling the team? What did she tell Jim? Akiha squirmed in her seat nervously.
Jim cleared his throat before looking Akiha in the eyes: “I’m happy that you found yourself a car so quickly. A midnight purple R34 GT-R, that’s quite a vehicle. You’ll have to take me for a ride some time.” Jim paused to check Akiha’s reaction before continuing. “I didn’t say anything when a second R34 appeared behind the garage, and I turned a blind eye when a 3rd car showed up in Taiga’s parking spot. She carpools with Garnette so it wasn’t a big deal. Then last week I saw an R34 in Aaron’s spot. He was pretty excited until he found out it wasn’t a gift, but he’s just moved to Weiss’s spot since she can’t drive anyways.” Jim glared at Akiha over the rim of his glasses. “But today, you crossed the line. I have a personal parking spot inside the garage. It’s clearly marked, so you could imagine my surprise this morning when I found it filled by another car. Although I suppose it wouldn’t come as a surprise to you since the car in question was an R34 GT-R.”
Akiha meekly looked at the floor, awaiting her punishment. To her surprise, Jim sighed and leaned back in his chair. “Akiha, I think you have a hoarding problem.” Her eyes shot open as she stared at Jim angrily. “I do not!” Jim arched his eyebrows: “Really? From what you mother has told me, your latest prize brings your car count north of 15. And I’m sure you have some hiding spots we haven’t found yet.” Akiha frowned. Damn it, what did he mean by a problem? What’s wrong with wanting to display your conquests? How is that any different than the trophy case in the lobby?
Jim couldn’t help but smile at the pouting look on Akiha’s face. “Akiha, there is a patch of land we aren’t using behind the shop at the moment, and I’ll let you keep the 5 cars you’ve already accumulated there. But 5 is the maximum number of cars I’ll allow you to keep at HQ, so if you bring a new car back you’ll have to get rid of one of the ones here. Now, I can probably help with that. We’re looking at adding a second Kaido entry at some point, so we could use a donor chassis for that. And I know Jetta and Taiga haven’t got cars in Canada yet, I’m sure they’d appreciate a gift.” Jim shuffled some papers, a sign the conversation was nearing it’s end. “That’s everything I wanted to talk to you about, any questions?"
Give away one of my hard earned conquests?! Akiha glared at Jim, but held back her comments. She knew this was a battle she wasn’t going to win. Besides, his compromise wasn’t unreasonable. She would just have to be more creative finding storage spots from now on. Akiha put on her best poker face: “No questions. Can I get back to work now?”
“Yes you may.” As Akiha was about to walk out the door, Jim stopped her. “One more thing, Ms. Nakai. I’ve seen you eyeing my 930 Turbo. If you go anywhere near it with that fender roller of yours our next conversation will have dire consequences.”

This post is from Aaron's POV
Allstar Racing Garage, Okayama International Circuit
I stretched as left the debriefing room, while ahead of me Weiss and Andreas did likewise. Even one of Jim’s “short” meetings could go on for hours, so I was pretty thankful this one had only been 45 minutes. As I turned to head back to the hotel, Taiga burst into the hallway like a child on Christmas morning. “Driver’s meeting!” She shouted cheerfully.
After rounding up Andreas, who had been halfway out the door, we returned to the now empty conference room. “So, for what reason did you call us here?” Andreas was the one to voice the question on all of our minds. “Let’s go out for dinner!” Taiga shouted, throwing one arm up in the air in emphasis. An awkward silence followed. Oblivious to our bewildered expressions, Taiga looked incredibly pleased with herself. “...That’s what you called a meeting for?” Weiss sighed. “I’m meeting my mom in half an hour, so I have to go.” Taiga gave a playful smile. “I guess I’ll have these two handsome gentlemen to myself then.” I cleared my throat. “Actually, Andreas and I were…” Before I could finish my sentence, Taiga shot me a glare that made my blood run cold. There’s a reason she earned the nickname ‘The Tiger of Fukui’. “Uh, never mind. We’ll be there.” The glare on her face quickly replaced by her usual cheeky grin, Taiga turned to Weiss. “See, Andreas is going to be there. He’ll be soooo disappointed if you don’t join us.” Weiss blushed furiously. “F-fine, I’ll call my mom and cancel. I, I’m not doing this because Andreas is going!” Realizing what she just said, Weiss went even redder. “I mean, I’d feel bad if I was the only one who wasn’t there.” Her voice was little more than a whisper at this point, and she was staring down at her feet. Taiga practically squealed in delight. “Aww, Weiss is a tsundere! So cute~!” Andreas and I exchanged confused looks. “A what?” “I do not know, but it sounded French. As a Canadian, should you not be able to speak French?” “Nah, I haven’t taken French since elementary school. I mean if you left me stranded in France I’d probably be able to survive, but I’ve never heard of a ‘tsundere’ before.” “I’ll explain later, Weiss and I need to go prepare! I’ll text you the details, don’t be late~!” With that Taiga bounded out of the room, dragging Weiss along with her.
As they disappeared around the corner, an uncharacteristically devious smile appeared on Andreas’s face. “You’d remember if you were stranded in France? How about if I left you in a room with Sophia?” I smiled slyly. “Andreas my friend, the language of love needs no words… who am I kidding, she’s way out of my league.” Andreas chuckled. “Yes, I’m afraid she is. Not to worry, there are plenty of other girls in the paddock.” I pondered for a moment. “You’re right, there’s an unusually high number of beautiful women in the league. It’s what, 50% girls? And they’re all cute.” I lowered my voice. “So, anyone caught your eye?” Andreas looked flustered. “I, uh…” “Oh, so you do have someone in mind? Now I’m really interested.” I pondered for a moment. Hmm, Callista Silverstone maybe? Not like rich socialite and supermodel hasn’t been done before, but they might do well together. Actually, I have no idea what kind of girl Andreas likes. “So, any hints? Or is this a big secret?” Andreas frowned. “Not a secret per se, but I would prefer to keep it to myself.” I nodded. “Fair enough, I won’t pry. I guess I’ll find out soon enough anyways.” Andreas looked at me with an analytical eye. “So, how about you? It hasn’t been difficult to determine your taste in women, I expect you would rather have gone to dinner with the Hockenheims than Taiga and I.” He grinned at my blushing face before continuing. “But since the lady in question is already taken, I guess you would be looking for a woman of a similar type. So, Erina Wolfe? She seems to be your type of girl.” “W-What!? I mean yeah, she’s smoking hot, but I don’t think I’ve ever talked to her.” Andreas frowned. “Hmm, maybe I’m approaching this the wrong way. Maybe it isn’t solely the bust size, but the hair colour as well. In that case, what about Hannah Taylor?” I sighed. “I wish. We get along pretty well but I know she’s out of my league. Besides, doesn’t she have a thing for Giu?” Andreas sighed as he checked his watch. “So what you’re saying is that there are girls you like, but your lack of self confidence has caused you to subconsciously class them all as ‘out of your league’. Am I correct?” There was a long, awkward, uncomfortable silence. So not only is Andreas rich, hard working, and incredibly good looking, but he can also read people like a book? Life isn’t fair, man. Suddenly my phone rang, saving us from this increasingly personal conversation. “Hey Taiga, what’s up? Sure, we’ll be there in half an hour. See ya then.” I hung up and we headed to the restaurant.
We’d stopped back at the hotel on the way to get changed into nicer clothes. When I say we I mean me, Andreas always looked like he’d just stepped out of the pages of a fashion magazine. We attracted quite a few looks as we walked down the street, seems a couple tall westerners dressed for a night out really stands out on the streets of Okayama. By the time we arrived at the restaurant a small crowd was following us, snapping the occasional picture. While I found the whole situation uncomfortable Andreas took it in stride. I guess he gets this kind of thing all the time. We were slightly ahead of schedule, so we got a table and waited for the girls to show up. As we made idle chat a couple slowly approached the table, a shy looking girl in a stunning blue evening dress being accompanied by a professional looking woman in a classy white business outfit. Wait, that grin looks familiar. No, it can’t be… “Sorry to keep you waiting!” Any doubts I had vanished when Taiga’s familiar voice rang out. Wait, so that means the other girl must be… “H-hello” Weiss stammered. Uh, wow. She looks like she’s dressed for prom or something, not an impromptu dinner date. Andreas seemed similarly surprised, as he had yet to return her greeting. “Hey” I smiled at her, then stood up to greet Taiga. “And hello to you too Taiga, didn’t recognize you two at first. You look beautiful.” “Well, when you go out for dinner with Andreas you kind of have to up your game, you know?” Taiga gestured to the man in question as he greeted Weiss. “You look pretty good yourself, didn’t want Andreas to have all the attention?” Taiga and I made small talk for a few minutes while Andreas and Weiss sat down at the table to look at the menu. “Speaking of Andreas, shall we go rescue him? That conversation looks painfully awkward.” I gestured to the table where Andreas was gallantly trying to make small talk, while Weiss seemed to be doing her best to sink into her chair. I guess the price of her insane skill behind the wheel is her hopelessness in social situations. Not a bad trade off in my opinion. Taiga frowned. “Poor Weiss, maybe I went a little too far this time. I thought it would be funny to get her a date with her ‘prince’, but she’s practically shaking she’s so nervous.” A smile on her face once again, she turned to me. “Come on, first one to make Weiss smile wins! Loser pays for the meal!” I grinned back. “It’s on.” Say what you will about her on track antics, but life is never boring with Taiga around.
