RPS Race Ventures Team Manager: Owen Marklund (RnTheAndrian) Headquarters: Atlanta, Georgia, USA Team Summary:
RPS Race Ventures International (RPS is a short for REBIRTH PHILO SOPHY) is a fairly new team in the racing scene founded by Owen Marklund, a participant of a competitive reality show set in a remote island two years ago. Looking for a post-show career, he found managing racing team would be a good way to start his long post-show career, which resulted him moving from his hometown to Atlanta, Georgia, the eventual headquarters of the team. Assisting him in his managerial role is Markus Pfeiffer, senior racing driver, mentor, and former team owner of the then-named Earnest Crosswise Racing Team (RPS International bought naming rights to ECRT), the preceding team whose headquarters now belong to RPS. The team enjoyed success in not only grassroots level, but also national level, with satisfying, if not perfect, results in Karting and Pro-Am Touring series. As an owner, Owen has received experiences in team managing, both basic and advanced, but with the team entering the Global Racing League, things will get a little different for both himself and his team. The team has good sponsor backings albeit "unorthodox" to aid their GRL career, and this will open the new chapter for the team. Other than that, Owen himself is very fond with sports cars, and for now, part of his dream has came true. Drivers:Qiuzhou Lam

However, during Qiuzhou's childhood, he and his parents would move away from their native China to start over in the United States. His parents dreamed of becoming tuners, but due to how overly strict their home country was to car modifications, it was decided that they would move out to chase their dreams. It was a small dream, but as they gained a reputation for putting skilled craftsmanship above all else in their new shop in California, Lam's Auto Works built a small but dedicated fan base. Lam's Auto Works was a maintenance shop somewhat like others, but its true specialty was in fabricating anything the custom parts their customers would request for. It didn't matter too much how ridiculous their customer's wishes were; if someone wanted to have neon lights under their Lamborghini's frame, they'd have it. Qiuzhou loved every single one of the monstrosities that would roll out of that shop. It would be his dream if he could have a ride he could call his own. But then the shop were accused of just building sculptures with motors; Qiuzhou's parents needed him to prove both the family and the shop's worth outside of being artists. On top of that, he had very few friends at school, most citing his somewhat feminine appearance as a suggestion that he was a weak person. Taking up the helmet to race in various amateur Touring Car and Time Attack competitions in the state during 2014, Qiuzhou set several class lap records and a number of high-placing upsets despite it being his first season. He began testing for an American Formula C seat in 2015, with good results, but Qiuzhou felt sports cars were more his thing. Even with his inner shyness, Qiuzhou clearly refuses to let that be his defining character. Ever since he broke out into road racing, he now has an avenue where his talents speak for himself. Joining a team in the GRL is a stepping stone he's very intent on taking. Roleplaying Notes: - Terse. Talks in short phrases. Like this. Says he picked it up from Finnish race car drivers. - Prefers to let his skills do talking. Applies to anything he does. - Can speak and write perfectly fine English if needed. Prefers not to when possible. - Often wonders about what his rivals must be like. Sometimes out loud. --- Sies Marland

In addition, Sies had numerous top fashion magazine covers and editorials at disposal, proving that Sies managed to cross the gender barrier. The whole modeling career was first started when Sies was hanging out with several male model friends at a motel and a model scout discovered her. As Sies' work bookings became more selective, this Brooklyn-based androgynous model also spent time on racing simulators in an attempt to slowly transition to the racing world, winning sim racing tournaments and collecting racing experiences from various disciplines, including sports car racing, whereas Sies' teammates do not aware that they were teaming up with a top fashion model, due to the fact that "Alex Mara" was the name Sies used. Nowadays she is a full-time racer after her modeling agency allowed her to do racing commitments without even leaving occasional modeling jobs behind. Her sim racing knowledge proved useful for her first ever real-life racing career in the GRL scope, and she doesn't mind to have her teammates learning from her because she knows that Sies Marland never have an interest to be a number one race driver, but it is part of her passion to go racing with different people. Off-track, she can be found reading almost anything (especially fashion magazines and racing car engineering-related ones), and making arts and crafts whenever the resource around allows her to. She is also a design major student, and it is no wonder why she has a good taste in art. Roleplaying Notes: - Always put professionalism in first place. At one point, personal matters would storm in an unexpected way but she could handle it on her own. This can take its toll where she can feel lonely at times and she doesn't want to let people know. - A little bit shy, but can be expressive at times. Not an outspoken person and love life between other racers isn't on her agenda, but she can get along with almost everyone well. - Usually speaks in third person (rarely when introducing herself), and she doesn't mind having people using male pronouns to her due to her androgynous looks. - Always learn "street style" outfits worn by fashion models; no wonder she can be quite a stand out even for a racing driver. - Lacks outdoor voice. Even if she has one, she isn't someone capable of throwing hams partly because of her male-ish voice, but the advantage is that she can keep herself humble for an endless number of interviews. - Doesn't use her social media that much, even for racing. The only posts you'd see from her is her art creations and her fashion works, currently. - She doesn't bother talking about her sim racing / "Alex Mara" past. Any attempt to bring it to the conversation would most likely end up with the following line of hers: "I saw a man." February 26, 2016
That Afternoon, Owen Marklund and Markus Pfeiffer walked through the new garage they acquired as they finished their Global Racing League administration. The administration took quite a long time, yet even after the long wait they were able to be accepted in GRL, although the garage that they have chosen for this effort was far from luxury, compared to the other teams at least. The garage itself wasn't a problem because both Owen and Markus accepted whatever GRL's decision is, and they were more than grateful to be a part of such a big competition in order to prove themselves in a battle ground that is new to both of them, in contrast to what they have faced for years.
"Alright! New garage! Woo!", Owen's gleeful voice colored the empty hall while he spread his arms. He never felt gleeful since his days in a reality show which put him (and other people) in a remote island. With all the freckles and sunglasses and a somewhat thin and tall body figure, he was still the same Owen seen on TV screens. He then shifted his tone to normal, "it's quite bigger than our old one."
"Yeah," his long-time tutor Markus smiled as he looked at the new garage, left and right. The senior race car driver and the former team owner of the preceding Earnest Crosswise Racing Team sported a short brown hair, brown eyes and several facial hairs. Unlike Owen, he had a slightly bigger weight yet shorter in height. "Should fit tens of cars here, unlike the old one where it's only fit for four."
Both Owen and Markus looked around the garage and noticed a small, white-walled office accessible via stairs. The small office has a window that would allow them to see the garage. Both continued to chatter about how big the garage is, until they climbed the stairs and walked straight to the office to consider a vital plan for them that should be decided within a few days: car selection.
"The next event is literally days away," Markus said as he opened the office's door, "we should make fast but sure decisions so that we can race right away. Thank goodness there's quite good selections for our starting cars. Real good selections." He let the door open as there was literally no people other than the two.
"Real good selections?" Owen puzzled, because all the time in his team managing career, he would be given hundreds of production touring car choices and mostly ended up in getting second-hand racing tourers.
"Yup. There's seven of them," Markus sat down on the office's comfy sofa while he put down his briefcase containing a laptop under the table in front of the sofa as Owen took a seat afterwards and instantly looked at Markus's eyes after hearing what he said.
"But isn't the choice eight?"
"Let's just say that we're not ready for that one choice." he referred to the Mosler MT900, a car that's not designed for beginners.
"Oh, okay then."
"So here it is," he opened a piece of paper he brought on his pocket as he put it on the office's table which actually was a side-by-side comparison of the seven cars they would pick. "I gathered their data on the internet this early morning, and apparently all the stuff here will be a handy guide for you."
Owen took the time to read the paper and noticed several things about the choices, especially when bat his eye on the Mooncraft Shiden, located far right on the paper, "Wow, this Mooncraft is quite a badass, looks like a prototype."
"Actually it's Daytona Prototype to be precise, meant to race in GRAND AM series. Apparently, this car is quite a stunner and a favorite in Japan, so does the rest. It's got some power, and combining it with its light weight, it'd really give you an edge. What's more is that I heard this is one of the cheapest choices to boot."
"Good stuff. Makes me wanna-"
"Well, you need to make the call by yourself," he cut Owen as he laughed a bit beforehand, thinking that Owen would pick the Shiden because of himself.
"No, I mean this makes me wanna try to compare the other cars actually."
"Oh, silly me! I must've been lacking in caffeine here." Markus then spotted several stuffs inside the office as he stood up from his sofa, starting from the coffee maker, a glass tray, and a rectangular sink on a room's width kitchen table, a small refrigerator under the table, and some leisure stuffs like a music player on the far side of the same table and a Wi-Fi router visibly nearby it as the router's Wi-Fi-shaped light lit blue, indicating that it was turned on. As he bat his eye to the coffee machine, he instantly walked to it to get some coffee. "THANK GOODNESS there's a caffeine dispenser here!"
Owen also had the chance to look out the same objects Markus saw, but this time he also spotted an air conditioner located right above the office's door. He didn't seem to bother turning on the air conditioner because the door was left open; any attempt on turning the air conditioner on at this rate would do nothing but wasting the electricity, and after all he was used to live without air conditioners at his jungle days. Nevertheless, he would continue looking at the paper Markus gave as Markus took a coffee cup and put it to the coffee dispenser as he tried to have a Latte.
"Just continue on finding your perfect car for our team, Owen."
It would take a while for Owen to read the whole specifications of the six other models. Owen wanted an all-rounder performer with a reasonable price, something that he did all the time prior to his early days. This time, the lesser choices made the decision easier, but he didn't have such a thought because the choices that were presented here emphasized more on differing performance, and he really needed something that would get his team on par against others. This was done while Markus was seeing him as he waited for the now-prepared hot latte to warm a little, and just as the coffee got warm and he was about to take a sip of it, Owen found a car that he deemed suitable for the maiden racing program for the team, yet Markus's reaction was simply an eyebrow raise as he sipped the coffee, and he would put the coffee to the table after a one second sip as he walked to Owen and asked "So you found one?"
"Looks like it. I narrowed it down to two: the 350Z and the RX-7. What do you think of this?"
"You've got a good prospect on Japanese sports cars there. Both 350Z and RX-7 should be a good choice because both seem to have balanced characteristics, although the RX-7 packs more power and lighter weight than the 350Z, and not to forget that RX-7 is a rotary-engined car so it'd be an out-of-the-box choice for us, but again the 350Z has a better downforce and a more familiar engine. So, it's power vs downforce for you, it's about whose side are you on."
"I guess I'll be going for the rotary one; the RX-7. Maybe it's a good idea to go out-of-the-box after all." Owen stood up from his sofa and packed himself up to head outside for a drive to a car dealer that has such a car.
"Good, you should drive by yourself to the dealer," Markus suggested as he let out his laptop out from the briefcase he put under the table previously.
Owen stopped, "but... you're not going?"
"Because I've figured out what your horse is, it should be the time that I had to scout for drivers because it'd save a great deal of time," he said as he opened the laptop's lid and pressed the power button to turn on, "Thankfully there's a Wi-Fi here so it'd make my scouting easier. Once you go back here, I'll make sure you'll have a greater picture of which drivers you'd pick later on. What do you think?"
"Oh, there's a Wi-Fi here? That's great."
But before Owen really left, Markus emphasized "Aaand, one more thing..." He gave Owen the key to his car, "You can't go anywhere without this thing."
Owen received the key Markus gave, "Ah yes, I almost forgot."
"Drive safely, Owen!"
As Owen closed the office's door, he finally headed down outside and went on to the dealer somewhere. Meanwhile Markus connected his laptop to the Wi-Fi after it was logged on and turned on the air conditioner as he waited for the Wi-Fi to connect to the internet by the remote he found hanging on his right side of the room, approximately near the office's door.

Racer's Digest - Edition #16025 (February 29th, 2016) - page 37RPS Race Ventures Breaks Cover. Confirms Car, Driver Line-Up. The finalized team logo of RPS Race VenturesRPS Race Ventures, a newly-renamed team now owned by former reality star Owen Marklund and his advisor Markus Pfeiffer, has officially launched its maiden Global Racing League effort after unveiling team logo and liveries for the first season, in addition to its announcement of the two drivers. "We are very excited to run our first ever season in an all-new environment," team owner Owen Marklund stated to the press. "Being number one will not be our number one priority at the time, but we will try to improve as the time goes, because personally I felt that experience and mileage will get the best of us." In a very simple team launching set in front of the team's garage, the team announced that it will enter two RE-Amemiya RX-7 FD3S GT300s, a Super GT GT300 race car based on the FD version of Mazda RX-7 which is now homologated as GT Endurance AM by GRL's governing body. Marklund also added that the RX-7 "should be the best all-rounder car capable of almost everything, which is a perfect starter for [the team's] maiden season." Promotional poster of RPS Race VenturesThe driver line-up for the team brings different drivers with unique backgrounds; the Chinese pro driver Qiuzhou Lam is paired by the American rookie Sies Marland. The former is an accomplished driver in amateur-level competitions and also was once a test driver in the American Formula C series, while the latter is a top fashion model famously known for walking both Women's and Men's shows who has recently traded her modeling career for racing. "We picked good drivers with unique backgrounds and a good interest in sports car racing," team advisor Markus Pfeiffer quoted. "I would never expect that I have this kind of drivers, but at the same time I am very grateful to have them, especially knowing that they get to drive in a series that really cater their talents." Qiuzhou Lam was approached by the team due to his touring and Time Attack CV and his road racing interest. In addition, Lam also had an involvement in American Formula C as a test driver last year before he stepped down in favor of sports car racing. Lam is also the brainchild of the California-based Lam's Auto Works, a maintenance and modification shop, which has made its name throughout its home. "Feels good," Lam commented on his involvement with his team. "First season, here we go. Hopefully we can score." For Sies Marland, it is her first ever racing career since transitioning from her fashion career. With an intention to seek a new experience, the Design major student who has walked over hundreds of shows in both Men's, Women's, and Haute Couture shows as well throughout her season thanks to her androgynous features, has expressed an interest in sports car racing and is happy that she found her domain in GRL grounds. "It's an honor for Sies to be able to finally realize Sies' interest in this team," Marland said. "Sies' modeling agency (One Management) and Scott Lipps (its founder) have been very supportive on the transition to racing career while still letting Sies model whenever possible. And the best thing is, he also lets Sies promoting his name too, so it's a win-win for us." Both Lam and Marland will drive the #18 and #20 cars respectively, each sporting slightly different designs and secondary sponsorships with the same light blue base. In addition, the team also signs ADAPTIVE, a Japanese motor oil brand, as its technical partner for its GRL efforts, alongside other long-term sponsors such as Lorelai Coffee and Tylor Motorsport. "We've known ADAPTIVE's motorsport involvements since 2006 Rally Hokkaido, and since then has gone global from time to time," Marklund added. "By having ADAPTIVE as our technical partner, we can unleash its full potential on track and prove that the brand is also capable of competing against the giants." The team will appear in several upcoming exhibition races including the Idle Master Open and Catalu-NYA Challenge Cup before taking on the currently-unspecified main series.

OOC: I'm posting past news from Idle Master Open right now...
from RPS Race Ventures Official Site's News section RPS Weighs in Motegi Debut
Date: Mar 7th, 2016. Tags: Motegi, Exhibition Races
RPS Race Ventures, a team owned by Owen Marklund, made its debut in the Idle Master Open in Twin Ring Motegi yesterday. The race saw both Qiuzhou Lam and Sies Marland finishing in 16th and 21st respectively, down from their qualifying position which saw them start from 10th for Lam and 17th for Marland.
In an interview with the press, Marklund stated that he didn't expect much from the drivers, as the team is currently seeking for mileage and reliability first before taking on the big leagues which should start within a week.
"I won't say that this is a bad debut for our team, but I'd rather say that this is our starting point for our progress." Marklund quoted. "We've took the cars home, and now all we have to do is to learn from this event as we progress this season. Hopefully we can be more prepared for the future."
The Chinese Qiuzhou Lam started off in 10th and had to struggle for the remainder of the race, which eventually saw him lose positions from Open class racers, resulting in him being off from the outright victory. He finished the race in 16th overall and 3rd in the Academy class, one position short from Lynette Adelaide on the same class after the mentioned driver made a move to the Chinese driver.
"Not our luck today." Lam stated, "The next race might be."
Meanwhile the former fahsion model Sies Marland seemed to have more issues in the race than in qualifying, with a 21st finish overall and almost last in the Open Class. A couple of faster opponents went faster than the model and she wasn't able to hold her starting position any longer, but thankfully the car didn't seem to suffer any technical faults.
"Sies was a little bit nervous there," Marland said. "Everything didn't go well as planned for her, but Sies would say that this should be the first time in actual race car. Sies would only need time to really get used with the car here. Love Sies Marland some track time."
The 25-lap race in Twin Ring Motegi saw Kohaku Motegi from Sapphire Sportscar Tributes taking the victory in both outright and Open class, with Hannah Taylor of Raiden Motorsports and Ryoko Maruyama of Deportivo Automovil Jimenez completing the outright podium. Meanwhile Maya Arima was the highest finisher among the Academy class, finishing 8th overall and a victory in her class, with Starion Motorsport's Lynette Adelaide tailing within two places of her in overall classifications and finally the RPS Race Ventures driver Qiuzhou Lam.
The Catalu-NYA Challenge Cup will be the team's next stop, which will see the team to the European grounds of Circuito de Barcelona in Catalunya.

Racebook - Online Racing News Resource Qiuzhou Lam Shines Through Rainy Hockenheim Challenge March 13, 2015 - 15:34 GMT by Mario Sudarso
(Hockenheim) RPS Race Ventures driver Qiuzhou Lam succeeded in an unexpected way after a series of let-downs in previous exhibition races by finishing 2nd in the Sara Hockenheim HPDE Challenge race and scoring the fastest lap in the race. The Chinese driver was also the highest finisher among the "Student" drivers, with a number of nine GRL regulars including Lam himself as "Students" and the nine guest drivers took part, including Sara Hockenheim.
"It feels great!" Lam said when approached by journalists after the podium celebration. "This was for Barcelona. I can't be [more] happier!"
Lam, in the dark green Nissan 350Z GT300 (the one-make car in the competition), started out the qualifying session in sixth place, missing out 0.346 seconds from the pole sitter Weiss Hockenheim, the daughter of Sara Hockenheim, and barely one second off of nearby opponent Maya Arima.
The race saw an early lap incident between guest driver Riven Scarlett and the "Student" driver Guru Mortenz, where the former made a contact from behind to the latter at the last turn of the circuit, spinning him off in process. Later on, another guest driver Bunny Chan bumped into Mortenz which caused both to suffer engine damage, putting them out of contention. Despite this, both Chan and Mortenz were fine, and Mortenz was refused to talk about this incident.
Throughout the race, Lam juggled from fifth to seventh, prompting him to battle against Rian Burton, also one of the guest drivers, along with other guest drivers which made up the top positions for the entirety of the race alongside Weiss Hockenheim. However, as the race went by, Lam gained several positions up to third, successfully overtook Arima in process and resulting him going head-to-head against Weiss and Burton. Burton made a brilliant overtaking move in the final 10 minutes of the race, handing the race lead to the guest driver yet also followed by the green-colored car of Lam's. The positions 1 and 2 were left unchanged after the finish, with a last-minute overtaking of Riven Scarlett that voided Weiss Hockenheim's podium placement.
When asked about the final minutes of the race, he simply stated it as "nerve-racking".
RPS Race Ventures owner Owen Marklund also praised Lam's progression on the race, stating that the result was "a greatest form of confidence boost for the league season". Previously, the Catalu-NYA Challenge Cup in Circuito de Catalunya, Barcelona left yet another low-key finish where Lam himself finished 25th while his teammate Sies Marland finished 14th. While Lam gained two places off his qualifying position, Marland dropped seven positions from her qualifying. Lack of preparation was one of the factors that Marklund cited during the post-race interview in the said race.
"[Lam's] victory was a testament that we can get on par against the other teams with preparations." Marklund also added. "Looking back at our previous races, we really need to step our game up and focus more on the preparation side, because that was what we were lack of for the past two exhibition races. Other than that, we will be giving both of our drivers all kinds of support to encourage them to do better!"
Sara Hockenheim HPDE Challenge has concluded the series of exhibition races for the first ever season of Global Racing League. The series will shift into its main league programs: Aeternam Sportscar Series and J-Speed Saikou no Taikyu League. Along with RPS's interest in both leagues, the team will also take advantage to testing sessions that will take place between races as an effort to make up their lack of preparations.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: RPS Race Ventures by Groupie Incognito, on June 20, 2016
RPS Race Ventures started off its first ever GRL season with a set of respectable results in exhibition races and an early Aeternam Sportscar surprise win all thanks to the great hands of Qiuzhou Lam, but somehow the team lost ground to the likes of Team Pezzarinho and Raiden Motorsports. It's such a shame because I rooted them the instant he took the win in the 1st Aeternam round, and then that's it, low-key result all the way. For the other driver, Sies Marland (what a name, really), I don't seem to put my expectations on this one since she's a fashion model gone car racing, but since she's new, she's not bad at all, I mean eighth place in the third Aeternam race? She's more than just a pretty face! Felt sorry for her Spa crash though, that really hit her hard. Before the second season's exhibition events though, Owen has decided to sell both of the RX-7s in favor of the new car he chose which should be revealed in no time (ICYMI, the RX-7s were no longer legal for the new S2 regulations). Qiuzhou spent his time back to his home, keeping his shop while honing his skills for the upcoming season as my friend told me, while Sies decided to take a break for a while to do the Haute Couture season in Paris so she might be absent in several rounds of racing here in GRL, but hopefully her runway appearance doesn't hinder her driving skills. She's starting to interest me. Progress-wise, Owen insists that RPS would stay as an AM team until they found success as the team somehow doesn't seem to have a better ground mid-season and also plans to hire a third driver as well as an engineer and a new main sponsor. Probably the third driver has a role to fill Sies' role in Paris, but I speculate that it would take more than three drivers for this season, I'd guess four, because they might return in Japanese and European championships, but let's see what Owen has on his sleeves. It's been a tough season for RPS, despite being the potential underdog and boomed at the start of the Aeternam season. Here's to Season 2! GRL Backstage Insider fan blog

The RPS Blog - Official Blog for RPS Race VenturesNEW SEASON, NEW RPSSeason 2 is coming and things quickly changed. As you have heard already, our RE Amemiya RX-7 is no longer liable for homologation this season so we ended up selling them. I felt that we had so much memories with this car, although most of it was bitter, but we really have no choice but to move on, and boy, turns out we even had much better alternatives! For everyone who has asked when our drivers Lam and Marland went, don't worry, they will return, and we mean it! It's just that they were doing some off-season activities, and now they have returned to our HQ. They really bound to make a good season here, so let's hope that they can deliver this season! For the new season, we have decided to pitch in the mighty Nissan GT-R GT3, something that we never had in the last season. Personally, we felt like this car should aid us to a better season. We're campaigning ourselves in IMAS StormSystems United Endurance Championship, fighting against the other GT Endurance AM teams while racing alongside the mightier GT Endurance PRO teams, where we can assure you that Lam and Marland will definitely make their full-season appearance. An appearance in the second-running J-Speed Saikyou no Taikyu series is also on our plans, when everything goes certain! Yet, we are not alone, as we have now partnered with some of the new sponsors with us for this new season: First, we have Yurei Hugging Monster LTD, our main sponsor. If you haven't known Yurei yet, it's a leading company for motorsports apparels known for its "Beyond Drivers" movement which made motorsports apparels no longer the same. Second, Weaver Aerodynamics, Atlanta's leading aerodynamic parts which once set a booming trend in the US. Extocharge Car Batteries and Omega Racing Brakes make sure that we are powered by the right brands, and finally Punch Design Co. designed a new livery for us and also made sure that we return for this upcoming season with a bang! We would also give a warm welcome to our new team of engineers: Nanako Kitamura from Japan, who has been working on a variety of chassis designs for many teams, including endurance racing teams. Joining Kitamura is America's Lynsey Watanabe, an Engineering student who aims to create the perfect yet reliable machine. Having them in our team means a lot for us, because in endurance racing, an extra durability is needed to finish unscathed. Remember, to finish first, you must first finish! So, the new dawn of Season 2 is coming! We are ready to contend with a new spirit, and who knows that we can take a trophy or two! Don't forget to follow us @rpsofficial on Tripwire! See you on track! NEW TRANSACTION RECORDEDHiring Lynsey Watanabe - 20,000 CR Engineer Slot Expansion - 200,000 CR Extreme Reliability Analysis: Stage 1 - 75,000 CR Advanced Engine Tuning: Stage 1 - 50,000 CR TOTAL - 340,000 CR

Owen's POV
Finally another season has come! I was gutted to find out that we couldn't register for the IMAS Championship, but Markus and I changed our direction: going to Pure GT and the J-Speed Series*. At first, we were uncertain whether we could try J-Speed once again as we were much focused on IMAS, but as the entries for the championship were full, we haven't prepared anything fully yet, but thankfully J-Speed was in fact the backup plan when everything goes wrong, although that we had to delay our participation to Round 2 as we didn't take part in the first race in Adelaide. Later on, there's Pure GT, a new series that caters GT AM teams in response to the interest of the teams which couldn't participate to IMAS due to the reason above.
In our first outing in J-Speed, we had our ups and downs. Qiuzhou did score numerous impressive finishes in the first phase of the season while Sies has finally gotten used to it, although that we ran the rest of the season in a low-key manner. We're not too prepared to be honest, although that we have two of the promising drivers in GRL.
Talk about J-Speed, whose second round will be held in a matter of time, the good news is that we could dirt our hands for the second time in the Japanese series, trying to find out if we can actually better our last season's mediocre results, which of course we should. This season, by the way, brings a different flavor to the mix, as the J-Speed series now travels to Australia to race some of the country's legendary race tracks, Adelaide is one of them, which was once home to the world-renowned open wheel racing series in the past.
The bad news? The second round, which is Mount Panorama a.k.a Bathurst. Yup, the holy mountain of motorsport, as everyone says. While there are two long straightaways that gives our car an advantage, the narrow, hilly section that follows will be the real challenge for our drivers. I was more concerned to all the drivers and the cars, especially if the Sies's crash in Spa were to happen again which saw her ended up being hospitalized for a while, skipping a J-Speed race.
By the time we were about to transport our cars to Bathurst, I was still keeping that thought as Markus approached me.
"So, we've got everything ready," he said as he walked towards me. "It's going to be a great race, isn't it?"
He paused for a while and saw my worrying face looking at the transporter.
"What's with that face?"
"Ah, sorry. Was too concerned with drivers crashing."
"Oh, come on. Just stop worrying, you have some trick on your sleeves."
"I don't know, Mark. I... I haven't faced something like this before and all these narrow sections, and all the thoughts of that Spa Francorchamps race-"
Markus interrupted, "Spa and Bathurst are different. Spa is wide and-"
"No, not about how wide it is, Mark." I interrupted back. "It's just that with all the hilly bends and stuff and that the walls are close, there's more chance of crashing than ever."
"Well, you can leave it to your drivers. I mean, just don't give them too much pressure. Just tell them to remain calm while tackling those sections. I remember at the time when I was racing a 24-hour kart race my manager said that 'Markus, you had to stay calm,' while to be honest I wasn't because I was determining to win yet I realized that it wasn't in the right grounds, as in... well, let's say it's the same challenge you're about to face."
"Okay..."
"Besides, look at Lam and Marland. I don't see Lam being pressured at all judging by his face and Marland... Not sure if this is the right place to say this but she just spent her time making something from our old car list paper with Lam."
I was like 'go figure' at that moment. Maybe I should check her... I mean, check them out?
"Maybe I should check them out."
Moments later as I was about to enter the garage, I almost bumped Sies who just happened to go outside.
"Oh!" She was surprised and something fell off. I raised my hands at my chest's length.
"Oh, sorry. Didn't see you."
"Phew, that's alright. Sies didn't saw you coming."
"Nah, me to-"
I interrupted myself as Sies picked up something that fell off. That must be...
As I pointed to the paper she was picking, "Uh... is that something that you made from our old car list paper?"
"Oh, yes." She showed me the paper as she stood back. "Sies was spending time making this paper swan, now she wants to find something that can be made into chains."
"Ah. So you're making chains?"
"Yes! This paper swan is going to be a chain, but it was just for fun. Sies wanted to make at least three chains, this was just number one. Later!" Sies left without any interruptions.
"Wait, a paper swan chain, how's that possible?"
Markus then approached me yet again, this time he pat my right shoulder.
"Told ya!"
"But... why for some reason I don't see her getting focused to the race?"
"That's because she's focused on track!" Suddenly, Markus's tone shifted, as he re-thought Sies's behavior. "Or... nah, I was worrying too much."
Suddenly, I have an idea.
"5 CR. for Sies making chains for a good-luck charm?" I let out my hand to Markus.
"Not sure what you're talking about, but well, deal anyway. Would be better if this has a drinking game version of it."
The bet is on. He shook my hand.
Despite all the chain making, Mount Panorama, here we come.
OOC * = Owen is most comfortable dubbing Saikyou no Taikyu as J-Speed Series.

RPS Race Ventures have finally landed in Mount Panorama for their first ever race in Season 2: the second round of J-Speed Saikyou no Taikyu. The race will see two of RPS's mainstay drivers Qiuzhou Lam and Sies Marland tackling what is dubbed as "the holy mountain of motorsport", being home to Australia's legendary touring car race. In the meantime, Markus Pfeiffer was standing beside one of the team's transporter trucks as he was browsing a mobile news site via his smartphone. Suddenly, one news caught his eye: Ultimatum Garage, Sapphire Sportscar Tributes confirm UEC exit - IMAS.comWithout any interruption, Markus went to the pit garage where Owen was standing with his pit crew and Lam as they try to prepare for the practice session. "Hey, Owen!" Markus said as he reached the place, "Good news. I'm sure this will make you jump!" Owen got confused as he turned his head to him while Lam simply lifted his eyebrows. "What's that?" Owen said. "Ultimatum Garage withdrew their entries in the United Endurance Championship, leaving vacant places." "Oh yeah!" Owen gleefully reacted to this news, particulary because IMAS was his main priority all along in the first place. "Wow," Lam simply reacted with a straight face. "Unexpected." Markus then quickly proposed to Owen about RPS's entry in the competition. "So, maybe we should contact IMAS right away, then?" "Well, no more delays this time!" As soon as all three heard the news, Markus put back his smartphone to his pocket and Owen started to take his out of his pocket and quickly wrote an e-mail to IMAS officials. This season will effectively mark RPS's busiest season yet, in an attempt to improve their last season's results. The problem is, with only two drivers competing in ALL GT competitions this season, what could go wrong? Will RPS play their "new driver" card to put a less strain to their drivers? Ricardo Lionheart
