LIGHTNING BREAKERS -CHARACTER RACING PROJECT-
{Logo TBA, I can't into drawing}
Team Manager: Koji Ogami (FMecha)
Team Summary: Koji Ogami, an automotive engineer and businessman, started as an employee in Otacom Japan, a major advertising and public relations company. Unable to convince the company to see the prospects of motorsports as advertising major media franchises, Ogami founded Lightning Breakers Racing Project in 2002. Initially managed by Ryota Nakagawa, which has a more significant motorsport management experience until 2004, Lightning Breakers have been mostly a lower-class competitor in J-SA GT Masters and Saikou no Taikyu, convincing several major media franchises and companies to sponsor the team over the years, even those outside Japan.
Ogami's approach to sponsorship drew criticism from some motorsport pundits, to the point weekly gossip magazines and internet message boards often try to predict what franchise the team will sponsor next, sometimes with surprising results. Despite this, Ogami has defended this practice repeatedly, and his team’s fandom also consists of the fandom of whatever his team sponsors, doubling its’ fan numbers. Ogami is currently planning for an international expansion in the near future; his former employer, Otacom Japan, have given him some partial support. His favorite quote is “Welcome to the revolution.” partly referring to his team’s sponsorships.

Summary: In Hong Kong, Tristan Li’s life of racing began with Mini 4WDs, being called one of Hong Kong’s prodigies in the Mini 4WD scene at the time, although he never won a national championship. Receiving attention from the Mini 4WD community for exclusively using front-motor cars, his father, a software developer, made his family move to United States for work, ending his Mini 4WD career, as the hobby was barely heard there. Advised to do radio control racing, a more common form of miniature motorsport in the U.S., he instead jumped to the real thing and pursued autocross racing after graduating from high school, followed by a career in Spec Miata racing for two years. In 2014, he began his truly professional motorsport debut in the Sports Showroom class in the North American Production Tour, using a Chevrolet Camaro SS; his best result was a third place in class.
During his Spec Miata years, he discovered professional fighting game scene and also competed as a fighting game player using the name Zerobird, although his racing career takes priority; he can only attend tournaments that do not interfere with his NAPT racing schedules. Nonetheless, he did win several regional fighting game tournaments across the U.S. and Hong Kong, and he has been dubbed "Fighter and Racer" by the fighting game community; with all of this, Tristan’s dream is to someday be the first person who is both a motor racing and fighting game world champion.
Roleplaying Notes:
- Character theme song: Street Fighter V - Main Menu
- Likes: Fighting games, gravure idols, the word "thuggery"
- Dislikes: Gossip tabloids, tier lists, adult films
- Lives in Seattle, WA (where his parents emigrated) and Hong Kong. Prefers to be identified as from Hong Kong.
- Specializes in command characters when playing fighting games; uses a fight stick, but is also fine with normal controllers.
- He always takes advantage of PPP/KKK macros (those built in game of course).
- He proclaims his love for gravure idols in the paddock all the time.
- A happy-going and cool guy in general.

Rod Soldiere (@rattrod_soldier)

This driver is currently not in use.
Stats:
Skill: 15 GRADE
Consistency: 7 GRADE
Preservation: 5 GRADE
Tenacity: 10 GRADE
Total Hiring Cost: 310,000 CR
Experience Level: Lv. 33; Bronze Driver Classification, 20% EPR
Specialties: Oval Racing
Earnings:
EVENT & SEASON - PLACING - CR EARNED
Earnings for Season 1 = 600,000 CR
Earnings for Season 2 = 822,000 CR
Lifetime Earnings = 1,442,000 CR
Summary: Born to a hot-rod mechanic father and a mother working in web design, in his youth, Rod Soldiere frequently fed coins to racing games in a nearby arcade, under impression it would help his driving skill. He nearly dropped-out from drivers’ ed classes (he was not an actual drop-out, contrary to people who engaged in flame wars against him in some simracing forums), resulting in his rather scrubby and arrogant driving attitude. His training experiences would translate to a new interest in a subscription-based online racing simulation, trueRacing.
Primarily a stock car racer on trueRacing, he also tried GT cars as well, both with mixed results (he only won three stock car races). Eventually, tensions with trueRacing’s repeated physics changes that caused Rod to accuse the service of increasing the difficulty without regards to true simulation value, as well with the community’s elitism (he once accused the community of "overplaying the fame of racing pretend race cars"), caused him to leave the service; around this time, he was also engaged in drama against Wrap Booth Racing, a livery-oriented modding community with a controversial history that have been engaged in rivalries against other modding teams, and often mocked as the “Salt Booth” for those reasons. In retaliation for quitting trueRacing, he entered a “gamer to racer” competition sponsored by a more common console-based racing game, but failed to make it to the national finals, but he was confident that the experiences from both (as well as a short kart training) will help him in actual motorsports.
Roleplaying Notes:
- Character theme song: Hybrid - Celebrity Science (F1 Challenge 99-02 version)
- Likes: Racing games in general, "simulation value", designing liveries, Dr. Wily Cola
- Dislikes: Lack of simulation value, elitism, unsalted food, people of Wrap Booth Racing, speedrunners
- Blabbers about simulation value all day.
- Has grudges against people who speedrun video games for some reason, although it's smaller compared to his grudges against Wrap Booth Racing. Rumors say because of his unfavorable comparisons to time attack racing and hotlapping.
- Once kicked out from an arcade for spoiling Of Mice and Men in a fit of rage after losing a multi-player arcade race.
- Despite his emphasis on simulation value, he thinks people who play "hardcore" simulation racers exclusively as elitists who cannot accept that no simracing title is perfect, and having horrible taste in racing games.
- Tends to be salty at times - so salty, he won't eat unsalted food, since "unsalted foods lack simulation value".
- Thinks Camaro are superior to any other muscle cars; is aware of a GT3 version of the Camaro and dreamed of some day driving it.
- Frequently makes short quips, which may or may not involve simulation value.
