Summary:
Being an American born on the 4th of July could seem very steroetypical, and fortunately Chad fits into all of them. A very arrogant young driver who has grown up always wanting to be a racing driver, whether it be in 'Lightning Car' or 'Thunder Alley'. A number of self funded dirt oval events resulted only in a number of high profile crashes to begin with, but a tainted credibility was never going to be enough to thwart Chad. He created a mini oval on his families farm (much to the annoyance of both parents) and would spend hours completing laps on a push bike. Believing it might see Chad become more interested in BMW racing instead, his parents allowed this to continue.
Just a couple of months later though, Chad snuck out of his room one night to steal a car from the nearest town. He was caught long before making back to the farm, and was fortunate that being a minor meant he served a shorter sentence in juvenile prison. Upon his release, he was sent away by his parents to stay with his older brother in Los Angeles. It was this difficult decision by his parents that can be attributed to saving Chad's life from going rapidly downhill, and instead his brother understood Chad's need to be a part of the greater racing community.
With his brothers help, Chad stayed below the radar and in return got to race in a couple more oval results. His new outlook on life saw him bring the car home within the top 10 but without drawing the same negative press as his opening results. Realising this was the better way of going about his racing, he set about targeting repeat points scoring results rather than believing he should always be winning. It was his brother that applied to the Team Pezzarinho scholarship, however not even he could believe it when the acceptance letter came through the door. The team believed that Chad needed the assistance in completing his life redemption, as well as fine tuning what talent he possessed alongside his self taught consistency. Chad was rated 5th in the 2016 program of scholarship drivers.
Roleplaying Notes:
- Perhaps Chad is a new man after his time in Los Angeles, but the wreckless arrogant streak must surely still linger.
- Looks up to his older brother, so much so that he hired him as his manager shortly after his move to the city.
- Despite a strained relationship with his parents, he still writes to them occassionally.
- Was ranked 5th in the 2016 Team Pezzarinho Scholarship Program.
