Summary:
Ernesto is the youngest son of the Duarte family, raised in Madrid until the age of 9 when the family moved to Barcelona. With 2 brothers and a sister all older than him and all very being successful in school placed on lot of pressure on Ernesto. He found quickly that although he struggled in individual subjects when compared to his high flying siblings, it was skill based tasks and puzzles he excelled in. Ernesto was very sporty as a result, enjoying football as his first love and supporting Athletico Madrid from a young age.
For the first time in it's history, the Team Pezzarinho scholarship head hunted Ernesto. Perry Brown saw a great potential within Ernesto due to his abilities in adapting to skills quickly, devoting himself to learning the traits of the sports he enjoyed, and in the variety of sports and games Ernesto enjoyed taking part in. Perry introduced Ernesto to go karting, though initially this met resistance from Ernesto's parents. As with all other sports though, Ernesto quickly threw himself into motorsport and became hooked.
Ernesto courted with go karting for a number of years whilst Perry kept a distant focus on his progression. Results were average in go karts, and eventually Perry advised Ernesto that he needed an ultimatum over his racing career. A part time drive within the Copa Clio España was made available by a contact, and if Ernesto was still undecided at the end of the season then he would be better suited concentrating on other ventures. The move worked however, with Ernesto better suited to the smooth driving style required for touring cars allowing him to finally truly display his driving ability. With the results came the hunger to do more, and Ernesto accepted a spot on the Team Pezzarinho scholarship.
Roleplaying Notes:
- Best described as a "synthetic love", his passion for motorsport is different from most around him. Decent results have shown him that he has a future in motor racing, but will that be enough to keep him motivated if he finds himself racing at the back of the field?
- Despite moving with his family from Madrid to Barcelona, he has maintained his true love for Athletico Madrid.
- Ernesto's parents are still unsure about him racing rather than follow more "honourable" career paths like his older brothers and sister. Despite this, his family form his most loyal support at events.
- Was ranked 4th in the 2016 Team Pezzarinho Scholarship Program.
