Hi everyone!!
It's been a long time for all of us still hanging around in the Racing Heart Universe, I know~! But a long development hell is finally coming to a close, and we're proud to announce an all-new season with a rebooted canon. Spanning three disciplines, six series, and four continents, Racing Heart Universe's reboot season will usher in a new era focused on aggressive and strategic on-track battles.
There is also a new, comprehensive series of posts documenting all the new game mechanics, which were built from the ground up to take a more traditional, tabletop roleplaying game approach. While not quite complete, you can have a look through the table of contents by clicking here!
The Reboot Era
Given the amount of time that has passed since what we now call the GRL Era, we've made a conscious decision to wipe the slate clean for everyone. From now on, the canon as a whole shall simply be known as the Racing Heart Universe, and the new canon will simply be referred to as the "Reboot Era".
New to the Reboot Era will be the inclusion of "historic canon" teams run by the League Administration users; these represent the teams which helped shape the motorsport scene portrayed by our race broadcasts. These historic teams range from domineering factory squads, fallen giants, and rising stars. Over the next few weeks, their stories and history shall be revealed in full, and you'll get to compete against them all.
Returning Player "Promotion Bonus"
For players who participated in the old Global Racing League era of the canon, we're offering an optional 'promotion bonus' to allow them to start teams in the higher tier categories. By default, all new teams start off with a budget of 15,000,000 CR. This however is only really sufficient for the Continental Super GP, GT Endurance AM and Tourer-2 categories.
Teams run by returning players will receive an additional 25,000,000 CR (for a total of 40,000,000 CR) if they choose to enter in GT Endurance PRO, Super Prototype, or Lightning Car leagues. If they wish to enter a second series containing one of those four categories, that Team shall receive an additional 12,500,000 CR (for a total of 52,500,000 CR) to support their efforts. If they choose to instead enter in GT Endurance AM, Continental Super GP, or Tourer-2, the Team receives 6,250,000 CR (for a total of 46,250,000 CR).
New Features
Bye bye, slots! A new Facilities system replaces the arbitrary slots from RHU GRL Season 2; teams can now construct Bases with a universal Staff member capacity, then add on Facilities to add car upgrade functionalities.
Get experienced! Drivers now automatically accumulate Experience Points by competing in Events; at the end of every Season, accumulating enough XP to exceed promotion requirements or performing exceptionally well in League championships can now progress their stats naturally.
It's all in the Details. As with much else in the Reboot Era, Cars have also had a through reworking. A new, universal Upgrade Tree is the basis for all Upgrades, with availability depending on the Category in question.
Be strategic! We've been testing the waters for more tactical control over the drivers strategies in race simulations in the Dream GT Championship community League, as well as the Sundown 6 Hours event held earlier this year. Players can now determine stint length intervals and tire compounds in many of the upcoming canon Leagues.
Categories Overview
As usual, expect a slew of Endurance championships targeted at a wide variety of player commitments and styles! GT Endurance PRO and AM return with a load of all-new models, ranging from newer generation machines to custom-modified factory racers. New for this season is a mid-level pure race car class, the Super Prototype category, which is an original formula using a variety of custom high-revving, small displacement engines.
Grand Prix sees a major revision; Continental Super GP makes its return, with modern open-wheel machinery based around top regional European and Asian formulas. Joining alongside it is the long-awaited broadcast debut of the mixed motorsport combat arts League, the Lightning Car World Tour.
While we're sad that Tuner will not be returning for the Reboot Era broadcasts, for the first time ever in the 'verse's broadcast history, we will finally have Touring Car racing! The Tourer-2 Pacific Series takes the unique Stock Car Brasil machines overseas to Australia and Asia, with our own unique specifications.
Stay tuned, fellow team managers and lore writers! In a second post, I'll be showcasing each of the six Leagues to be run this upcoming Season~!
