About
Formed in Sebring, Florida on September 29th, 2000 by former IMAS sports car driver Richard Hoffson, Eastern Atlantic Motorsports was his attempt at taking the international sportscar racing world head on. The owner-driver, along with his teammates over the span of a decade and a half, experienced the glories of several major victories globally, but after 2017, the team would take a major turn in direction from their initial roots.
Starting off in 2001, they jumped straight into the upper GT class with the mighty Saleen S7-R. Their reputation was off to a strong start as victories and podiums immediately came around. Though only podium finishes were scored at Le Mans, the team was a tough opponent back home in the states, and especially unstoppable at their home track in Sebring. As years passed, the constantly changing regulations forced them to manage new machines, such as the F430 GT2 and Viper GTS-R. However, success after the run with the Saleen were much fewer and further in between.
By the turn of the decade, Richard Hoffson’s daughter Esther was already making a name for herself in open-wheel racing internationally. Seeing as Eastern Atlantic’s performance in sportscar racing was on its way to a decline and that Richard himself was starting to show his age, it wouldn’t be long before it was decided on the team’s biggest change. In 2016, the team announced its transition to open-wheel racing in the fearsome Lightning Car series with Esther Hoffson subsequently announcing her arrival. Patrick Marcelli, another formidable grand-prix racer, would also join alongside with over a decade of top level racing experience under his belt.
Since the massive change, the team has been viewed as lurking in the mid-to-upper pack of the grid, but journalists and team members alike predict that Eastern Atlantic’s full potential is still yet to be seen, and that the victories the team once were showered with in sportscar racing would eventually show up in LCWT sooner than first predicted.

Commonly referred to as “Essie”, Esther hails from an extensive racing family that originates all the way back to the 1950s. Throughout the decades, the family name has earned countless victories and several championships attached to it, and her current successes in the open-wheel scene have only added on to the already impressive history.
Taking a brief break from racing until forming Eastern Atlantic Motorsports, Esther’s father helped her immediately get hooked on racing from a very early age, and she began racing in karts when she was just 8 years old. Immediately her talent started shining through, as most karting leagues simply could not match her unrealistically precise driving style.
Unlike her father who was heavily involved in sportscar racing, Esther found herself more keen on the slightly more demanding open-wheel machines that complimented her driving style well. Just like her karting days, she would prove to be more than just a competitive opponent on the grid. It wouldn’t be before she would reach the Super Grand Prix series to take on some of the greatest upcoming drivers in the world.
With the excellent career Esther has accumulated so far, she only seeks to go much higher in the likes of the Lightning Car World tour and the World GP series. For so long, she’s practically had her victories handed to her on a platter thanks to her skills and family name inheritance, but being challenged by the top level series has ignited a motivation within her heart that’s never burned stronger in her life.

Growing up on a quaint farm in the Welsh countryside, Rhiannon Cadogan was a gentle girl. Quiet and reserved, she had few friends from school and preferred to spend her time exploring the fields at home. Though Rhiannon's shyness was worrying to them, her parents and teachers would have described her as "the perfect child".
That is until age 9, when she discovered her father's pickup truck with the keys still in the ignition. Rhiannon was captivated by the challenge of discovering how to operate the truck, and after some trial and error she managed to get going. After a few minutes she had figured out the basic procedures, and soon she was on her way to town. Sadly for her neighbors Rhiannon hadn't yet discovered speed limits, and was flying down the road as fast as the battered old truck would allow. When her parents finally caught up with her they found the truck upside down in a ditch, and Rhiannon sitting by the side of the road giggling. Hoping to avoid a repeat incident, her parents signed her up for a season in karts.
At karting events Rhiannon seemed to become a whole new person. Her usual shyness was replaced by eager fascination, as she strived to discover everything she could about this new world. Her diligent study paid off on track, and by the end of the season she was outracing nearly everyone in her local club. Rhiannon was quickly scouted up by the Dreigiau Ifanc (Young Dragons) Development Program, and with them rose up the karting ranks. Dominating the Welsh Formula Rookie championship at age 15, she moved to the British Formula C championship the following season. After finishing the year as top rookie, she came back for a second season and dominated her rivals. With the Dreigiau Ifanc Program delighted with her results, Rhiannon was placed into the World Pro Series by Scarlet for the 2014 season. Struggling with the huge increase in power and downforce and the increased level of competition, Rhiannon only managed 10th in points in her rookie season. Despite improving to take 4 wins in her sophomore season she was dropped by the Dreigiau Ifanc Program and left without a drive. Now on her own, Rhiannon has set her eye on the Global Racing League to further her career. Seeing it as an opportunity to both learn as a racer and discover the world, she is looking for a team willing to give her a shot. While most comfortable in Grand Prix cars, Rhiannon would welcome any challenge her new team gives her.
