Krieger WRT Shuts Down IMAS PRO Effort Following Krieger IV's RetirementBy: March TruettEarlier in the season, Herbert Krieger IV announced that he would retire from professional motor racing after the 2021 IMAS Championship season had concluded. It wouldn't be too long before speculation arose on whether or not the team's PRO program would remain in the hands of Lukas Pulkrabek and another driver. However, the former driver and team owner has answered with the confirmation that Krieger WRT will not return to IMAS this upcoming season. "Today, I must announce the end of an era." Krieger IV said in a statement released on the team's social media earlier today. "We have enjoyed many years in the IMAS GT Championship, sharing the grid with some of the best drivers in North America and the rest world. Sadly due to issues with team finances, sponsorships, and contracts, our BMW M8 program will be coming to a close before the start of next season." The statement finishes with Krieger expressing his hopes to have the team return to the grid "at some point in the future", meaning that the shuttering of the program may not be the end for this team. After all, he has expressed numerous times in the past few years about a junior or amateur program in Europe underneath the team's banner. Though this bit of speculation has finally been squashed, it's left both fans and journalists wondering where it leaves the team's remaining personnel. Krieger's other star driver Lukas Pulkrabek has spoken in previous interviews this past season about having "no interest" in leaving the IMAS championship anytime soon. "I feel comfortably challenged here on the IMAS grid, and I have no interest in leaving soon." he stated during an interview during the Long Beach weekend where Herbert's retirement was announced. "Even if this team doesn't last after the season's over, I would still like to remain here. I've gained so much experience and knowledge in IMAS than I have anywhere else I've raced." Many suggested that Pulkrabek would fill in for REDLINE Engineering, who is expected to inherit the majority of Krieger WRT's assets for the 2022 season. However, that rumor was quickly put to rest with their contracts of Jake Hartshorne and Emile Vernier already declared. At the same time, former AM team Raiden Motorsports announced their step up to the PRO stage with Ford Performance early in 2021, and still have yet to confirm the second driver of their #12 machine. Whether they're in talks with the former BMW driver or someone else is yet to be known.

World Racing JournalNME Enterprises Announces 2021 IMAS GT Championship CampaignBy: David KerznerSpeaking from his racing team's home base in Ottawa, Canada, NME Enterprises' Nicholas McElleby announced that he will be fielding a single car as part of a capacity AM class grid in the upcoming 2021 IMAS GT Championship series. "We will be fielding the venerable BMW M6 GTC that has served us well throughout successful campaigns in the IMAS Endurance Challenge, and we hope to continue that success in 2021." This news comes in spite of the demonstrated success as a participant in the GT Master League, and when asked if the possibility of a PRO class entry in the IMAS GT Championship had been discussed, McElleby was unusually candid. "We did have discussions with IMAS itself, multiple high-ranked drivers, and some of the teams who held entries previously within the PRO class of the IMAS GT Championship, specifically Krieger WRT and Absolution Autosport. Ultimately, those discussions did not work out, but in all honesty that may be for the better." The ending of his comment may be cryptic at first glance, but it is easy to see why McElleby has said this; he has noted that it has been difficult to find the talent necessary to pair with the team's ace driver, Victor Malarek, and that not many drivers are willing to work for him and his team given recent history. Often criticized for bringing in his son to race under his team's banner, McElleby did confirm that the popular Geoffrey Eastrize would be returning as the lead driver for the AM class entry and believes that his driver lineup can prove that they belong at the top level of IMAS competition. The other major update of note for the team is a confirmed switch to Zenshin tires away from the Nashville brand that has been used by the team for a number of years despite the Nashville branding remaining on the hood of the car; McElleby confirmed that this was a result of the team reusing one of the older hoods from the 2020 IMAS Endurance Challenge as part of the livery mockup. Rumors still exist that NME Enterprises may be looking to branch out into different forms of motorsport other than GT racing; this would be an unprecedented step for the organization that still is dealing with the fallout of the infamous 2017 takeover of Scuderia Litorale's assets. The team has begun to show that they have the talent to fight for regular race wins; can they also rebuild their reputation to a point that allows them to continue to challenge the best in the world, be it in GT cars or potentially open-wheel racing? Only the future knows. Preseason testing for NME Enterprises is scheduled to begin in two days at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, then the team will be moving down to StormSystems Raceway Laguna Seca the week after.

246 Press MotorsDi Prisco Officially a Free Agent - “It is what it is” With the conclusion of the 2020 IMAS GT Championship season, former PWRBand driver Juliette di Prisco is officially a free agent, looking for a new team after failing to impress with a middling performance in a crucial last year on contract. Being with the team since 2018, the Los Angeles based team is looking for new talent to bring a more successful effort in the next season and decided to move on from the Canadian driver. “Honestly I was shocked when Nina said she wouldn’t renew my contract, but I suppose she was already weighing her options through the halfway point. I admit I cracked a bit under the pressure and the talks definitely weren’t helping but it is what it is. Hopefully it gives me more time to work on the decks and produce some mixes!” Although team principal Nina Bridgehampton wasn’t able to be reached for a comment, multiple reports stated that she was already on the hunt for new talent after di Prisco’s race ending accident at Laguna Seca, costing the team valuable points late in the season. Rumored to replace the Canadian is up and coming Japanese driver Ryoko Maruyama who showed an impressive performance in the IMAS Endurance Challenge. Another driver in the hot seat is fellow Canadian Noire Tremblant, who is reported to be within her last year on contract coming in the 2021 season. Already moved down to the 912 car to make way for another potential signing, the Trois-Rivieres native could very well find herself in the same situation as Juliette di Prisco as the races go by. Whether or not she can still impress the team is a matter of time. UPDATE: PWRBand have just revealed two new drivers for the next season, with a pair of Americans Risa Aoyama and May Yumizuka driving the 911 and 912 car respectively. There is still no word on a Maruyama contract as of yet but Bridgehampton has promised news on a new driver later this week.

It was the 1993 Formula GP season when we got to meet Rebecca Speed and Bobster Racing for the very first time and in all honesty, the first impression was more of a marketing gimmick than of a skilled racing driver: her belligerent style, at the time still rough around the edges, got her spinning out in the opening race in Interlagos and got her the nickname “Reckless Bex”. It will take two more insuccesses before seeing her full potential, during the Monaco Grand Prix of that year: a race that is still remembered today as “The Valkyrie’s Flight” and was the start of a triumphant cavalcade that brought her first Formula GP title as well as the first ever constructor title for Bobster Racing.
Flash forward to the present day, we see the Bobster Racing name popping in the news again, not as a Formula Team this time, but as a new entry for the ataGo! J Speed Association GT Masters Championship to kick off in February. The transition from open-wheels to GT team, as well as the return of Rebecca Speed as the main driver generated great enthusiasm in the long-time fans, as well as perplexities and a bit of skepticism in whoever keeps up with motorsport in the present day.
We need also to point out that Bobster Racing Systems (the new name of the team), entered the competition in the AM (Amateur) class, and therefore will not be duking it out with the “big ones” in the PRO class; this aspect caused disappointment in the long time fans that are aware of the team’s past, but also makes perfect sense when we consider that Bobster Racing has been absent from the racing scene for over 20 years.
Bobster Speed himself, now 48 years old but still with the same energy of the early days, stated: Just like someone that has been away from their hometown for too long, we need time and tools to re-acclimatise. We managed to acquire a great machine for this championship and we are planning to do anything in our power to take complete advantage of it. Still, we need to adapt to the fact that it is totally different from the single-seater we are more familiar with. Any way you see it, it’s a journey.
Time and tools to craft a strategy will be needed for the two titular drivers for this championship, the “Valkyrie” herself, Rebecca Speed and the Brazilian rookie Alister Dos Santos, quality Paulista known in the touring car scene for his expertly calculated yet effective driving style, in contrast with the skirmish like approach of Rebecca - both will be sharing the classic number 29, this time on a Golden Wind Toyota GT86 JS-2, still sporting the emblematic blue, white and golden colors.
Daniele Gilbert, Italian head mechanic of the team, and relative of the more famous Enki Gilbert, has released this statement to the Italian magazine Tutto Motore: I always found the Pacific motoring scene extremely fascinating; my uncle Enki would always tell me about the Japanese tracks and the great energy and tension of the races and I think being able to experience it first person is a great boost for me. Plus, I am positive that the car for this championship is excellent primary material for me to shape it into the weapon of choice we need to be on par with the other teams.
Rebecca Speed says: Definitely I am not sure if driving like I used to will be beneficial. I mean, it's a totally different time right now and my racing duties have been like… let’s say mostly on and off-ish. But I am more…“hard-wired” for formula-style driving and I have a bit less experience with sports cars. Still, it is always something new I can learn, especially knowing the team is back and ready to take on new challenges. When asked if she feels threatened in any way by her teammate, she stated: Threatened not, I don’t see him as an enemy. However I don’t completely agree with his methods. Racing is racing, not a board game to wait patiently for the next move.
Dos Santos’ reply shows no hard feelings in regards, but keeps his feet grounded on his beliefs: I love watching Rebecca’s races in the Formula days, but something that I learned as I grew up and started racing myself is that instinct alone is not enough; there’s a lot going on every lap. Is not only about driving the car and throwing yourself around the track, it is about realizing when is time to push and when instead to conserve your car. And if you don’t learn to understand when is the right time to get into that gap and pass your opponent, at this point you’re no longer a racing driver to me.
The ataGO! J-Speed GT Masters is scheduled to start between the 11th and 13th of February in Bathurst, with a long and grueling 500 km race around Mount Panorama Circuit and Bobster Racing Systems is getting ready to deliver a show to their fans.
Will it be the start of another Cinderella Story or the rude awakening of a far-fetched dream?

Kasumi Yamasaki has been signed to join Luna Corse alongside Hildegaard Kankkunen, in what will be her first J-Speed GT Masters campaign in the top class. The current runner-up of the Japan Super Grand Prix already took part in Luna Corse's testing sessions at Okayama and Fuji, and takes over the seat vacated by veteran Sayuri Niwa, who signed with the Crimsontek R&D team for the upcoming J-Speed Saikou no Taikyu season. Graduating from junior formulae at a young age, Yamasaki's breakthrough season came in 2020, with a strong performance in the Japan Super Grand Prix championship with the Kyoto-Namikawa team, and an impressive run in the Starlight 1000km, which helped the underdog Afterschool Endurance Club secure a podium finish. Despite her impressive curriculum for her age, many fans and specialists faced this move with a bit of skepticism, claiming that Yamasaki is still not ready to step up, needing more experience. The Luna Corse personnel, however, seem to have different plans. Only time will tell if this was the right choice, but we can surely say that Luna Corse is aiming for the future.

In this first issue, we'll cover two upstart AM teams and a familiar, fan-favorite North American entity to the traditionally Asian-Pacific championship. UP//REV Motor RacingIntroduce us to UP//REV, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?"We're UP//REV Motor Racing from Kasugai! We've been racing sports cars for nearly a decade now, but only recently has the team broken into the J-Speed GT Masters scene. Everyone here's learned a lot from the first season alone, so we're more determined than ever to rake in more victories. Goooo UP//REV!" Hehe, your energy's peaked my curiosity now! Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squads?"Takumako-san has been with us ever since our CHIBI program in Saikou no Taikyu, and it's been an incredible journey with him so far! He's grown a lot as a driver, and we can't wait to see how he'll perform going into the 2021 season. As Takuri-san departed from our team last season to seek new opportunities, we've taken in Yeona Myung as the new second driver. Her grand performances in Saikou no Taikyu at such an early part of her career had everyone in JSA talking, and we're excited to see how her racing career further blossoms." Which event is your team looking forward to the most this season?"There isn't an event we don't look forward too, but I think the obvious ones are the two big races at the legendary Fuji and Suzuka circuits. When you get into a race like the Starlight 1000KM, you're truly stepping into worldwide recognition and big opportunities for your team beyond the Asia-Pacifica region. Winning a race like that would be a dream come true!" So, would you consider anyone in this league a rival you'd really want to beat?"We've had some good battles with many teams, so really the rest of the grid is our rival! I've never been a fan of holding grudges against particular teams -- I just want to see everyone do their best." While we know the reach and power of esports racing has grown over the years, Yeona Myung was definitely not on our shortlist of racers to watch a few years ago. What challenges have you and the team faced when transitioning her from the sim to the gritty, cruel real world of motorsport?"Funny you ask that, we talked about this just a few days ago! Myung-san has actually found it easier to get to grips with the car in real life than in a sim, but the mindset of battling with an opponent and how many risks you can take is completely different. In a simulation, mistakes bear much fewer consequences than the real thing. With the realization that your life is at risk as well, it forces you to pick and choose your maneuvers much more often, and we think Yeona so far is adapting to this very well." Formidable Allstar RacingTell our newer fans to the sport about your team, and your goals for the 2021 season!I'll start with the basics! We're a Canadian born, Japanese based team and we're currently the only Porsche supported team in the premier class of the J-Speed GT Masters. How a Canadian team specializing in lower tier IMAS and singleseater racing ended up racing on the other side of the Pacific in the world's biggest GT series is a bit of a long story, but essentially a sponsor approached us a few years ago with an opportunity to race in Japan and the rest, as they say, is history. In terms of team identity one of our trademarks is our highly ambitious engineering department, headed by former Tuner Village member Akiha Nakai and the highly promising young talent Garnette Bristol. I look forward with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation to what they come up with this season. This will be our third season in the top class, and we've already scored a handful of podiums and pole positions, so our goals for this season are twofold. We've come painfully close to victory a few times now so finally taking that first win is goal number one, of course. Our second goal is to show frontrunning pace more consistently, we're hoping to be fighting in the top half at every race. Consistency wins championships and it's something we've struggled to find in GT Masters thus far. Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squad?We explored our options, and you may have heard some interesting rumors on that front, but ultimately keeping a consistent driver lineup from last season made the most sense for us. Weiss Hockenheim has demonstrated many times that she's one of the fastest GT drivers in the world on her day, and Taiga Fujiwara improved in leaps and bounds last season and proved that she belongs in the top class. We've been criticized for not bringing in a driver who has won races at this level but for these two I think it's a matter of when rather than if that will happen. Even as a somewhat familiar face now, are there any race events you look forward to this year?As a team we've always gone well at high speed tracks, so Fuji and Bathurst stand out as races where we can target a strong result. The Starlight 1000km as well, that's a race we got very wrong last season and we're looking forward to the opportunity to correct that. In that case, are there any rival teams you'd consider using as a target to beat?We don't have the long history in the series that most of our competitors do, and they seem too busy beating each other up to pay much attention to us just yet. But if we can score that first win or even put together a title bid this year then who knows, maybe that will get someone's attention! Allstar Racing have proven to be incredibly quick in the years we've seen, taking the most pole positions in a season a couple of years ago. But your team has yet to win a race despite the pace - what developments have you made in the off-season in the hopes of rectifying this?You'll have to wait and see! Seriously though, it's been evolution rather than revolution. We've proven that we have the pace to win, our challenge is to turn that potential into reality and we hope the changes we've made will help with that. aarror Equinox Inc.Introduce us to your team, and tell the fans at home and abroad - what are your goals for the 2021 season?Welcome to Equinox Inc., a team established in 2017 in the local fairgrounds of Cape Town, and later expanding in the African region, and now currently entering the Amateur section of the championship. Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squad?Part of our growing process was entering in the South African Clubsport GT Cup. Edgar was signed with us pretty much since day one and he won the series, so that was what they call a no brainer. Natalie is an interesting story, as I watched her grow in go-karts given she's a daughter of one of Equinox' high level workers, so I saw her winning a lot, and we gave her a chance as we kinda needed a second driver anyways. Finished fourth in total, but had a highlight win in Kyalami, so it's just a natural step for me to combine their talents. It must be exciting for an overseas team like yours to be stepping into a whole new world; are there any races you're really excited for?We will take each race one by one, but I can't hide the excitement of day one… the first race that is. Like everyone says, there's only one first experience, so we'll look at a decent and fair performance so we are noticed. Although, finishing clean is more important for me, no point in getting damage, or worse, crashing out on race one. Is there anyone in the series you'd consider a rival at this time? If so, who?We're not here for the sake of the rivalry. The search for a quote unquote enemy on the race track is pointless in my opinion, and it can only bring bad experience. Fair enough! Speaking of experiences though, teams from Australia, North America, and Europe are uncommon, but no strange sight to the international J-Speed GT Masters league these days. A team from Africa, however, is a true curiosity for us - what motivated you to race here, as opposed to your region's off-road or Touring Car championships, or perhaps the EMEA-based Aeternam EuroSeries?Few reasons. On the sporting level, we wanted to do something bigger than the Clubsport GT class, and with the future idea of moving even further if possible, the GT Challenger class is a logical entry point seeing how many series it serves for. There's also partial marketing and product placement… I'm not gonna lie, Equinox is not really what you'd call a brand, as they work for the welfare and health back in my hometown of Harare. But, I can't hide the fact that my move to South Africa was not only due to the education, but the health of the region was also not at the best point. Private health insurance and coverage may be an expensive idea for some, but Equinox gives you affordable and approachable health coverage on multiple angles, so we have enough in for another expansion, and given the fact that we got the entry for J-Speed GT Masters... you can connect the dots... J-Speed Preseason Interviews - Coronet, Neptunia, Fujinami Vertigo & Rosesfrom the Racing Heart News Network As the 2021 Bathurst 500km looms ever closer, it's time to take another look at the J-Speed GT Masters teams from inside. This issue covers an old-school former AM part-timer with plans of going all-out, a PRO team looking to claw their way into history, and an old GT Superleague legend looking to settle a vendetta once and for all. Coronet PowerworksIntroduce us to the team, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?Daiki Urasawa: Good afternoon! My name is Daiki Urasawa, and I am the team principal for Coronet Powerworks' racing endeavors. I am joined today by our chief engineer, Tomoyuki Omura. Some of you may recognize us as longtime competitors from the Saikou no Taikyu endurance series, and we are pleased to be able to participate in the top level of competition of the J-Speed Association as a full-time competitor for the first time in our years of racing. Tomoyuki Omura: Pleased to meet you. As my good friend Daiki has said, it has been a few years since our team has attempted to make appearances in the J-Speed GT Masters. Even so, everyone on our team is ready to make the jump to full-time competition, and I do believe we have the driver pairing to hold our own within the ranks of the AM class in addition to having a capable racing machine to bring us success in the upcoming season. Daiki: Speaking of our drivers, I would like to introduce everyone to the people who will be behind the wheel for us this season. This is Kazuya Omori, and to his right is Ninian Henzler. Kazuya Omori: ...Did someone say my name? Oh, um... my apologies. Hello everyone, I'm sure some of you remember me from the Saikou no Taikyu series, and... I'm glad to be making the next step up into a GT Endurance AM class car, I think. Ninian Henzler: (waves) It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. This is a major change for me, but I am confident that the team here at Coronet Powerworks is a cohesive group of people that can make the transition from less powerful racing machines a smooth one for both myself and for Kazuya. Daiki: Thank you both for your kind words. Speaking of your drivers, how did you decide on having them team up as a Squad?Daiki: In all honesty, we have been keeping an eye out for talent across the world, with a special focus on drivers who had demonstrated an ability to adapt to all different types of race cars. Adaptation is a skill that we value, given our relatively unique choice of GT Endurance machine. Kazuya has demonstrated his ability to master different car characteristics across different classes, notably in the Tourer-3 and GENKI classes of the Saikou no Taikyu series. Ninian has shown she can race both open-wheel and touring cars. It is not an easy task to be noticed by Nissan and be picked up as a development driver, and we believe we can help further her development. Tomoyuki: When discussing drivers with Daiki, it almost always comes down to two factors for me; Can a driver get the most out of their equipment regardless of what they are driving, and can they finish a race with the car intact? When both of those criteria are met, experience has told me that drivers with these abilities and characteristics are the drivers who will give us the best feedback on how we can improve a race car, and therefore earn more consistent results and good finishes throughout a season. Daiki: Drivers who are willing to take care of their equipment are also, in a sense, taking care of the rest of the team. This is not to say that our jobs are made any easier if a car is handed back to us intact; rather, it gives us something more to work with and focus development time on, which in turn makes our drivers' time behind the wheel easier and the interaction between driver and team is made more informative and rewarding. Are there any particular race events you'd be looking forward to?Daiki: The Kamitsue GT 300KM at Autopolis is the event we are looking forward to the most. The team has had past success at Autopolis in the Saikou no Taikyu, and we hope to be able to continue that success there even though a good result is never guaranteed. If you had asked me this question last year, I would have immediately mentioned what would have been the 300KM race at our home track of Okayama, but with the pit lane renovations not being completed at the time of this interview... it is regrettable but entirely understandable why the organizers of the J-Speed GT Master League gave that race date to Chang International Circuit in Thailand. Tomoyuki: We have never had the opportunity to race at Chang, but the team is excited to get the chance to race there for the first time this season. Kazuya does have experience there, and that experience is something we can rely on when we get to that point in the calendar. Is there anyone in the series you'd consider a rival at this time? If so, who?Daiki: There are no true rivals for us, simply because a serious rivalry is not something we have ever tried to cultivate; that is not who we are as a team and as a member of the J-Speed Association. As teams, we are all fighting for the same goal on the track, and competition between teams is a necessity, but as for a pure 'rival' who we actively dislike... it is not in our nature to feel that way about one of our fellow competitors. Tomoyuki: We do have a 'friendly' rivalry with some of the teams, primarily the ones that have come up from the Saikou no Taikyu series such as Kawashiro Youkaitech and Seven Hoshi Racing, but I would classify it as more of a 'shared respect' mutual feeling between all of us. We have been competing against each other for a very long time now, and have seen numerous faces come and go over the years of competition, but we are still chasing each other for the shiny trophies at the end, and that shared goal is something that forms respect and unwritten bonds between competing teams. What's your feelings regarding the GT-R GTC customer-factory teams, like the RoninForce Duelist Academy and Tomoko Powered Garage? Do you feel Nissan has given you enough support to compete at this level, or have you had moments where you feel the Red Emblem racers had a helping hand that you feel robbed of?Daiki: A part of this goes back to what Tomoyuki said before; there exists a 'friendly' rivalry between all of the Nissan-backed teams and drivers similar to what we have experienced with Kawashiro Youkaitech and Seven Hoshi Racing. We all have a shared goal, that being bringing success to the brand; how we each achieve that goal is something that will always remain different regardless of who has the most success and who posts poor results. Nissan has given us more than enough support to be a contender at this level of competition; what makes us unique is the decision to try something different, and we are grateful from the continued support from Nissan to continue trying something different. Tomoyuki: The only issue for us regarding the other Nissan squads is sharing of data; our choice of car limits the amount of information we can share with our fellow Nissan teams, and vice versa. It has never been a problem for us, a problem for the other teams, or a problem for Nissan itself in terms of how much information we can actually share to help improve the cars. It is something we have come to accept as a consequence of continuing to use the 370Z chassis versus the GT-R chassis; that decision has helped us earn a reputation in the Saikou no Taikyu as a team willing to be different while also maintaining excellence and dignity on and off the racetrack. Daiki: If it ever would come down to us not being able to use the 370Z chassis in the J-Speed GT Masters, whether it be by rules changes or homologation expiry, we would be more than willing to switch to the GT-R chassis. If Nissan would want us to switch to the GT-R, we have no problem doing so. The team would continue to methodically improve the GT-R in the same way we have methodically improved the 370Z to be the best we can make it, and we have never felt that the teams who choose to race with the GT-R instead of the 370Z have an unfair advantage over us. The fact that Nissan has seen fit to place one of their top development drivers into our car is proof enough that we are all treated equally and fairly as part of the Nissan brand's racing efforts. It does also help that we have forged friendships with the owners, team principals, and members of both RoninForce Duelist Academy and Tomoko Powered Garage; they respect us, and we respect them as equals, all under the banner of Nissan. Anathema Fujinami Vertigo Racing Team & Fujinami RosesIntroduce yourselves to our newer fans, and tell us about your goals for the upcoming season.Chihiro: Hi, I'm Chihiro Fujinami, team manager of the Fujinami Vertigo Racing Team, we estabilished this team in 1995 thanks to the support of the Nissan Motor Corporation, providing to us cars and components. Our goal for the 2021 season is to come on top and winning the J-Speed GT Masters. Ryuko: "Do I really need to do this interview?". Ah well, I'm Ryuko Fujinami, team manager and owner of the Fujinami Roses. Even though my team is relatively new to the J-Speed GT Masters, we actually have a lot of experience racing in the Saikou no Taikyu. Our main objective for this season is more of supporting the main team to win the J-Speed GT Masters. What was the selection process to picking your Driver Squads?Chihiro: Our driver squads were selected after heavy scrutineering in the junior series and on the touges, in which we found racing prodigy Maiko Fujihara and Haruna Fujimoto, originally known as the Mt. Haruna Silver Ghost due to her scary speed and precision down the mountains, they have become two of the best drivers to ever race with our team and sort of mentors to my daughters. Speaking of my daughters, they were trained since childhood by some of the best trainers of Japan and racing since the age of 7, their selection was a combination of experience and family heritage. Ryuko: Compared to the main team my drivers, or should I say driver, were selected personally by me. Hiori was selected due to her incredible experience racing European cars, Momoko is a special case since she is not a human, but a prototype racing android developed by our parent company, Kase Robotics. Interesting... any events you all are looking forward to competing in?Chihiro and Ryuko: We are most looking forward to the Fuji Moonlight 500KM, the Fuji Speedway is our home track, that's where we achieved most of our successes. Is there anyone in the series you'd consider a rival at this time? Anyone you'd consider one to watch?Chihiro and Ryuko: At the moment we don't consider any team a rival but we are keeping a close eye on Luna Corse and Empress Project VICTORIA. Speaking of big-name race teams, it's rare that even superteams like Tsuchigami no Kyojin field two cars in a season, but here we see three entries combined across the main Fujinami Vertigo and Roses squads. Both rivals and fans alike are curious as to how you have the resources; so to clear the air, how is your team able to field three entries this year?Chihiro and Ryuko: We are able to field three cars thanks to the large amount of money we have and also thanks to the support of Nissan and Jaguar, which, starting from this season, is gonna be one of the supporters of the team. darkracer99 Neptunia CorseLong time, no see! Introduce us and our readers to your team, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?Hi, I’m Cornelia Biaggi and I’m the team principal of Neptunia Corse, a passion project I started back in 1996. We’re usually remembered as the first team to ever field the MC12, which led us to an absolutely amazing 2004 season back over in Europe. That’s a memory we will always hold dear to our hearts. After our recent resurgence we decided to travel overseas back to Japan to prove ourselves on the international stage. We know from experience that the GT Masters is one of the most competitive leagues in the world, and after our wonderful 2020 we want to see how far we can go. Our goal is to place high in the team standings after all is said and done. A win will have us over the moon but we want to aim for consistency on all fronts. Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squad?We’re lucky to have Hibiki Miura with us, experience is hard to come by these days but they’re well and away one of the most experienced drivers in the paddock. In fact we’re very familiar with their services as we jump-started their international career back in 2002. They’ll be vital to us in the coming months to train the new blood. I really am glad to have them back, it’s just like old times. Marisa di Vallelunga was a hot commodity after her season in JSGP; we weren’t the first to approach her but a GTE PRO deal really got her to consider our team. We acted in time to land a driver that’s in such high demand and we think she slots in perfectly with our vision. The moment she went through our front doors Marisa said she felt right at home; that’s always an amazing sign. Her hair has such a nice shine to it too… Is there an event on this year's calendar you're looking forward to, more than any other?The Suzuka 1000km, after we won it in 2006. Even though we don’t have the absolute monster of a machine that the MC12 was, I feel like Ferrari has an amazing package that could help us a lot with these types of circuits. Coming back to Japan after all those years ago, is there anyone you'd see as a rival now?I think it’s pretty obvious at this point. The FCA Group has been a faction of in-fighting factory racing programs with a long history of political manipulation behind the scenes, and your team was forced to turn against Maserati many years ago. Since then, Ferrari have been fighting a losing war in stopping Maserati from claiming every GT championship title and class record before they can; why continue fighting for what many have now considered a lost cause?We never turned against Maserati in the first place; they were the ones that showed us the cold shoulder even with our great 2006 campaign. But I don’t hold anything against the brand. What I do have an issue with is the absolute childish behavior Giovanna Bergamaschi retained throughout her career. Throwing money at everything and throwing a fit when things don’t go her way pretty much soured all the relations within the FCA Group and forced us to fight this silly little war once she defected from the brand and developed her ridiculous project. We’re simply just cleaning up after her mess like the small child she is. And that laugh just irritates me so much…! I’m not sure why you think this is a lost cause and a war we’re losing – obviously Ferrari has made multiple strides since the last Evolution package and from testing we’re already seeing the result from years of research. J-Speed GT Masters championship. In this issue of the 2021 preseason interviews we conducted, we'll cover the some of the heavy-hitters and hyped up rising stars! Luna CorseIntroduce us to the team, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?Luna Corse is one of Japan's biggest racing teams. We take part in many GT and open wheel championships around Asia, and we run the #25 aimi POWERCRAFT McLaren 720S in the J-Speed GT Masters. Our goal is to win the championship. That's what we're here for. Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squad?We're aware of the fans' opinions, but Luna Corse has always been the home of exceptional talents, and that won't change. We're working and focusing on the development of these talents by having them learn from the best. We really believe that the combination of the experience of the veterans and the drive of the youngsters can help us scale new heights and move closer towards our goal. That mentality is reflected in our chosen driver line-up for this season, Kankkunen and Yamasaki. Which event is your team looking forward to the most this season, and why?The Fuji Moonlight 500km. It's our home race. Who would you consider your rivals? Anyone in particular?All of them are our rivals, and we must beat them if we want the trophy at the end of the season. It's us against them. Luna Corse are often seen by the fans as a "feast or famine" team; your victories are utterly dominant, but your defeats are equally as crushing, and there's little in-between when it comes to results. Championship victory in the GT Masters has continued to evade you; what inspires your team to keep fighting after all these years?Despite fortune not always smiling upon us, we're really passionate about what we do, and there are other teams just as passionate. They want to win just as much as we do, and we must respect them. However, that drive, that will to win is still inside all of us, and we will keep moving forward while this fire is still burning. RebelMist Seven Hoshi RacingIntroduce us to the team, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?Hello! I'm Maria Capelli, public relations manager for Seven Hoshi Racing, and we're longtime competitors in the J-Speed Association's Saikou no Taikyu series, currently based out of Shizuoka. Some of the more seasoned fans in the J-Speed Association's orbit may have known us as the former Itakura Racing squad that participated in the GRL for over two decades. This is going to be our first season competing at the top level within the J-Speed Association, and even though we know that the competition will be intense, we plan to prove that we are a team that deserves to be here, competing for good finishes throughout the season. Realistically, we'd like to achieve at least two podium finishes in the season - anything more is just a bonus! Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squad?Mr. Higuchi has always said that he makes the final decision on who he chooses to have drive for the team, but one thing has been clear to all of us that are part of the team; he wants drivers who are willing to put it all on the line to earn good finishes, regardless of the outcome. Akira Tamashiro has been our lead driver for ten years now, and we're pleased to announce he is returning in that role for our entry into the J-Speed GT Masters. Shinji Kawamoto is someone who we have been keeping an eye on as a potential future star in the racing world, and despite his lack of experience in GT cars we believe we can help him fulfill his racing career. Our driver pairing may have a bit of a negative reputation on the race track, but everyone on the team believes in them to get the job done... even if it causes some tempers to flare. Which event is your team looking forward to the most this season, and why?We're most looking forward to the Fuji Moonlight 500KM. That's the home race for Shinji, and it's the track where he's had the most success at in his open-wheel endeavors. We feel that our experience in the longer endurance races within the Saikou no Taikyu will help us tremendously, in addition to the years of development work that has been put into our racing chassis. Is there anyone in the series you'd consider a rival at this time? If so, who?We can consider any of the other Subaru teams as a rival, given that all of the Subaru teams besides us have switched to the new Subaru BR-Z JS-2, a car that we do not have a fond opinion of. We do have a point to prove that the shiny new toys sometimes are not the best way to move forward. Aside from that... Akira has maintained a friendly rivalry with Yoshiro Arai of Kawashiro Youkaitech, and we still do respect the team as a whole for the years of assistance they have given us in developing the Legacy B4 JSA-GT. If there's any other potential rival teams.. we might find out the hard way on the racetrack. This Legacy B4 JSA-GT has clearly seen a laundry list of upgrades inside and out. Sure, the miracles of industrial Automated Schedule Printers has allowed for the rapid prototyping, repair, and refitting of racing machines new and old, but why hang on to a chassis that's nearing its 12th year of competition?Truthfully, it's a matter of funding. It is no secret that our team does not have the budget of some of the factory-supported efforts, so we make do with what we can. We've invested a lot of time and effort into making this chassis into the best race car we can, and we'd prefer not to lose the work we have done and start over with a new chassis. We do receive a good bit of support from Subaru, it's not like we don't have any manufacturer assistance at all, but brand loyalty can only get you so far, as Mr. Higuchi is known to say. That also being said... we do plan to run the car until we no longer can, for whatever reason that might be. Anathema Toyota Team DRAGONIntroduce our fans to your team, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?We are Toyota Team Dragon, we're a tightly knit team that's been competing and growing for the past 8 years in the states as Dragon Racing. This is our first season as a two-car team and with the support of our Partner Exxo, we wanted to try our hand overseas and really measure ourselves against the best they have. Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squads?With the 19, we have a proven pairing that is capable of fighting in the top so it was a no brainer to seek them out. We strongly feel like Mayland and Wagner are a great chance at competing against what we expect to be fierce competition in our first overseas season given their background and experience in these kinds of races. With the 20, we wanted two rookies that we could develop and eventually turn into the kind of competitive drivers we have as well as give someone a shot at the big time. We looked at many candidates that were on offer here in the region and we found two that really got our attention in the form of Yamauchi and Minori. Which event is your team looking forward to the most this season, and why?For us, there's three that we circled on the calendar: The Season opener at Bathurst, The Moonlight 500 as it's basically Toyota's Home race and the Suzuka Starlight 1000KM. Those are the events we are really looking forward to and hope for a chance to win at. Is there anyone in the series you'd consider a rival at this time? If so, who?Wouldn't say we've got a rival but we're certainly looking to see what we can do up against the likes of Empress, Tsuchigami and of course a fellow Toyota team at Toyota Team HIME'S. You aren't the first American Toyota GTE PRO team, but certainly the first to step into the overseas GT Masters. Do you intend on eventually coming back to the States to challenge long-time Toyota loyalists Aleph Racing Developments for manufacturer supremacy?Well we'd certainly love to. We'll have to see what happens but if things go well and should we find ourselves in a good enough position, could be possible for us to attempt a dual campaign both here as well as in the states. racecar Bobster Racing Systems Ltd.Introduce us to the team in brief, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?Bobster Speed: Well, we have been out of town for a bit innit? *laughs* No, seriously now - it's absolutely great to be home again. For us at Bobster Racing, the tracks are our home and we are a big family ready to work hard. This season is no exception, just like 20 years ago, it's absolutely our intention to do our best and put on a show for our fans... and maybe even get some points because why not! Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squad?Bobster Speed: I am pretty sure every long time fan is familiar with my younger sister Rebecca - she was our ace driver back in '93 and still happy she decided to pick up the challenge in this new adventure. But yet, I felt we needed some... well, let's say "fresh blood", so we started hunting not only for a second driver, but for someone that could balance Bex's approach in a completely different way. And that's how we came across Alister during a BritGT race in Donington Park. He's fast, calculating, calm under pressure, and he keeps giving us suggestions on how to improve the car. So yeah they have both different approaches. But when put together, they work just great! Looking towards the season ahead, which event is your team looking forward to the most this year, and why?Rebecca Speed: The entire calendar for this season is amazing - I think being able to race in Bathurst for the first time for me alone takes the cake. However, for sentimental reasons, I have to say I am really looking forward to the round in Suzuka. Lots of good memories in there... Is there anyone in the series you'd consider a rival at this time? Anyone you'd have in mind?Alister Dos Santos: I think trying to look for a pitiful skirmish even before the season starts is pretty childish. We are basically trying to find the footing for a whole new team, the last thing we need is unnecessary provocations when we need to concentrate and deliver a solid result. Rebecca Speed: Still, many talented drivers around indeed. I think the answers will arrive once the Mount Panorama round wraps up. Let's see who we make the most angry I guess *everyone laughs* Bobster Speed: Bex, be good come on... The Grand Prix Exodus of 1996 and the GT Racing Exodus of 1999 marked the end of top-level motorsport as we knew it back then, yet your team seems to have survived the fall - what was your team doing in the 20-plus years spent away from the spotlight of the Grand Prix and GT Endurance scenes?Bobster Speed: oof... "Surviving" is a big word; after the 1995 Formula season, we banked 3 constructor titles and 3 drivers titles, 2 with Rebecca and one with her teammate Lisa Garnier and we also gained quite the fanbase. But the thing is, we were mainly operating thanks to government motorsport grants, which after '95 weren't renewed. So in the end, we just all went our separate ways: Bex raced in other disciplines like rally and touring, Lisa Garnier went back to the USA to dedicate herself to stock car racing... as for me, I helped out our hometown of Berkington in the Midlands, supervising the construction of a new race track between 1998 and 2002, the Apricot Hill Raceway. It was a good experience, but I really missed racing, you know... That's why I decided this time to invest money on my own to start this crazy adventure again. And here we are, with a brand new machine, a brand new team, with old friends and amazing new talents, and no matter what happens, we are absolutely gonna put on a show for everyone. BREAKING - Tensions at Bobster Racing Systems after a lacklustre Practice session.

BATHURST (Australia) - It's barely the end of the first practice session and the ataGO! GT Masters is seeing already some sparks flying in the paddock; Bobster Racing Systems, at its official comeback in the motorsports world, should be in for a delightful display of old school racing action for its fans and instead put up a very "meh" lower tier performance during practice yesterday, clocking in on 15th place, sensibly worse than many other teams in the AM class that were well able to reach the points instead. All this is threatening the dream of Bobster Speed, team owner and manager that hopes to make the team a leading force in racing once again.
But there are some things to take in consideration after yesterday session: in fact, soon after the end of practice and a team meeting was called, titular driver Rebecca Speed started to accuse her teammate, the Brazilian Alister Dos Santos, of not keeping an adequate pace in order for the team to reach the higher tier of the standings. In reply, Dos Santos has accused Rebecca Speed of adopting a "maniac behaviour" and of being target of "systemic bullying" from the British driver. When interviewed, Rebecca Speed stated: "I keep repeating, this is a fight of the fittest, not a picnic! You say 'gotta go fast' for a reason! Not 'going at a reasonable pace'!". Dos Santos appeared to be the most level-headed: "It's just practice! Doesn't reflect the qualifying at all! I just wanted to get to know the car and the track! And all I get is someone that keeps on yelling to me that is not right, that I should just throw myself on the road at maximum velocity just because... it's petty. Sounds more like jealousy to me than anything else!".
Bobster Speed has promptly drummed up both drivers and stressed the importance of working together in order to achieve results, but will not tolerate further in-house conflicts. "We spent 3 hours last night" he said to BCC Sports "trying to cool everyone down. Even Daniele (Gilbert, head mechanic for Bobster Racing, nOa) was giving weird conspiracy theories about more powerful cars that should't be in this class and did much better than us. Is all rubbish banter really, they are all really afraid I guess. But again, this is a first time. This was a test. Now we have more data for qualifying, it wasn't the final stretch. We are barely starting. And even if we are not on the top at present, we will get there at some point. But for now, I think the priority will definitely be to shave off a few tenths off in order for us to start off from a much better position. And again, I need Bex and Alister to work together and stop this... pointing me pointing you, we are not at school anymore."

J-Speed GT Masters championship, but our preseason feature interviews aren't concluded just yet! In this final issue, we cover the remaining GT Endurance AM teams to watch in the series. Pegasus Motorsports (Honda)Introduce us to the team, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?Founded in 2015 Pegasus Motorsports is a GT racing team based in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. We have specialized in the Am category of GT racing, and we are very excited about our first endeavor into a full time series outside of the US. This is a new series and a completely new car to us, so if we can be competitive with the rest of the field and even challenge for a podium this season will be a success. Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squads?Early on we decided that we wanted drivers who would be a good fit with the team. Nico has previous experience in Junior racing in Japan, so it was an easy decision to move him over from our IMAS team. Sakura and I have known each other for many years, we even competed against each other my las season driving. We had a contacted a few drivers for our second spot, but when Sakura had informed me that her commitments in Europe had fallen through, we had always wanted to work together and I knew she would be a good fit with the team and offered her the job immediately. Which event is your team looking forward to the most this season, and why?I'm personally looking forward to all of them, there are just so many great circuits on the calendar that its hard to pick just one. Haha, I can definitely understand! On another topic, is there anyone in the series you'd consider a rival at this time? If so, who?With us being new to the series, we haven't really had a chance to develop any kind of relationship with many of the other teams. So far everyone has been so welcoming to us, and I don't really see us becoming a rival with anyone. Pegasus Motorsports are clearly not shy about spreading their wings, given your plans to field cars in both the J-Speed GT Masters and IMAS GT Championship leagues. But as a team who needs to manage relationships for potentially rivalling manufacturers, what difficulties have you faced in keeping both Honda and Ford's customer racing programs happy?Let me begin by saying that both manufacturers have been great to work with anything we have needed. We have been affiliated with Ford since the beginning, and we have a great understanding of the Mustang, the NSX is very new to us and there were some "growing pains" at first. There are some little differences with the NSX that caught us out a little in testing, but we think we have got a good understanding of the car. tbwhhs Apex AutosportIntroduce us to the team, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?We are simply a new team in GT Endurance hailing from North America and hoping to get ourselves used to whatever J-Speed Masters will throw at us. Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squad?Honestly, I am just looking for drivers that might not have the opportunity to race in these series and both Ami and Jack fit the bill for it - with Ami doing a few drifting competitions and Jack has been catching my eye at times when he was still doing stock car racing. Those are some different skills to to the racing here but who knows? It might work after all! Which event is your team looking forward to the most this season, and why?Every round is a new experience, not just for the drivers but also the team as well - so that would be all of them. Is there anyone in the series you'd consider a rival at this time? If so, who?I don't think we need a rival at this point for us since we are that new to not just the series, but also the world of endurance racing. Unless our drivers or other competitors drivers take each other out during the season or if some other team decides to be very petty, we should not bother on that now. We know the world of Drag Racing can be a dangerous, perilous sport - but the howling sensations of the quarter-mile can haunt even the most grizzled of veterans. Do you ever see your team returning to that world, or do you feel sports car racing is the only way forward for your team?I did enjoy my stint on that sport for 20 years with some success as driver and owner, but I want to try something new after watching some of races here in the States and had the money to do so. We've got lots of new fans and teams alike coming into the series in 2021, and they'd love to know more about you and your organization.Introduce us to the team, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?[visibly trembling/fidgeting throughout] *deep breath* "A-alright, well, hello; I'm Miku Akiyama, m-manager and co-owner of L-Love Autosport. Yeo Min and I founded the team last year to compete in the J-Speed series in 2021, a-and, uh, yeah, we're looking forward to having a good year! A-as for my expectations for the year, I'm-I'm actually not really sure what to expect. I think we've done a very good job of putting our car together, but obviously the level of competition in this series will be much higher than anything, uh, anything I've ever experienced before. So a-as long as we're competitive in uh, in this company, I think I'll be really happy." Speaking of Yeo, was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squad?"A-actually, Yeo approached me about this, uh, program. We've been good friends for, for as long as remember. I-we got put as teammates during an indoor, uh, karting event when we were teens, and, and I guess we hit it off really well. Now, s-she obviously wound up being much more successful as a, as a driver than I was, heh, but I was lucky enough to find my uh, my calling in more of a, uh, management position, and we had a few really good years working together in the Korean Tourer-3 Championship, b-before I had to move back to Japan to help take care of my father. F-fortunately, we were able to stay in touch, and last year, she called me about how she came across a Hyundai Genesis, uh, GT car from, uh, 2012, I think? Apparently it was kept as a uh, backup car by the Hyundai factory team, and I guess it was sort of forgotten about until it showed up in a uh, in an auction last year. Yeo managed to get it for a very low price, and we've been spending some time working with the uh, kind people at Hyundai getting it up to, uh, modern spec. S-sorry, I g-got kind of off-topic there. Uh, as for Samarth Bora, I'm actually a big fan of the touring series over in India, a-and he was of my favorite drivers to follow, so it-I was really disappointed to see him get kind of, uh, shafted, last year. [OOC editor's note: remember the Guy Cosmo saga at Daytona this year? It was sort of like that] Fortunately for us, uh, the stars all kind of aligned, and we were able to pick him up as a driver for our Hyundai this year. H-he's been very nice so far, and I'm really happy to have his, uh, experience in the car this year." So, with your team's experience, which event is your team looking forward to the most this season?"I mean o-obviously we're looking forward to the first round at Mount P-Panorama; we're hoping to figure out where we stand compared to the field and uh, what we will need to work on going forwards, b-but on a more personal level, I'm really excited for the race at uh, Hokkaido Speed Ring. It-it's so different from any of the other tracks on the calendar, and I'm, uh, really excited to see it in person." Is there anyone in the series you'd consider a rival at this time? If so, who?"W-well, I don't-I don't really like to th-think about it, uh, that way; I-I'd hate to have anybody upset with us, and I hope I-we can make some friends around the uh, paddock. I-I suppose it would be nice to see where we stand versus some of the other, uh, more home-built cars. I-I'm a big fan of the uh, that Nissan Z from, uh, Coronet, was it? I think they have a really cool car, so uh, I think it would be nice to, to be near their level." While the J-Speed Association is an organization that prides itself on international outreach, outright sponsorship endorsements from them are unheard of. What do you think J-Speed sees in you that other governing bodies and race teams don't?*lights up* "o-Oh yes, I'm really glad you brought that up! I'm really excited about this. W-when we contacted them about racing in GT Am this year, J-Speed reached out to us, and we've entered, a, uh, technical partnership with them, and as a new team r-refurbishing an old car, we've been able to help them evaluate the GT Am regulations to uh, to help other small teams going forward. It's-it's been an honor to work with them, and uh, heh, maybe if we're lucky, they'll be extra nice to us with the, uh, BOP this season." This team seems quite likeable, but nobody gets any special favors in BOP, not even Honda Queen Tsukishima herself.) bup! JLM EnduroSportIntroduce us to the team, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?We are JLM EnduroSport from the Oita region, and this is our very first season in J-Speed GT Masters. I, Shiyochi Kazamura, used to be heavily involved in the street racing scene back before the 2000's rolled around. By that time, the scene began to die out, so me and my crew decided to put together a time attack team called "Broken Velocity". Just thinking about it now brings back fun memories, but me and the team wanted something more going into the next decade. After an enlightening trip to Le Mans in France, our complete refresh into a sportscar team under the JLM EnduroSport banner began. Since then we've been going strong under this name for 10 years now, and I'm very happy with where the team is now. Obviously picking up the shiny trophies is a desirable outcome for our first season, but at the very least we want to make some noise within the AM class and make our presence known. Hopefully the opportunities for bigger and better things will come soon enough. Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squad?Saito-san has been with JLM since 2016, and it's been an absolute pleasure to work with him. We share the same dream of tackling the international sportscar world, and his talent has proven to be nothing but extraordinary. Lan Yang was a real pleasant surprise when we hired them in 2019, as it was a very last-minute decision. Being only just 23, they have a bright future ahead of them, and I can't wait to see how their already impressive driving further develops in the future. Which event is your team looking forward to the most this season, and why?I would have to say the Starlight 1000KM by far. The whole team has been looking forward to taking on their very first true endurance race, and the finale will certainly help us learn so much more about what it takes to complete and win one of them. Is there anyone in the series you'd consider a rival at this time? If so, who?There's plenty of impressive teams out on the grid this season, and I'm not sure I can pick just one or even a few. We'll see once the season starts kicking off. A lot of teams and shops from the Tuner Kingdom have been clamoring to take on Le Mans. No Japanese team in history has ever won the event overall, and while a Japanese manufacturer won in class in 1995, it was run by an Australian team. If you ever had the opportunity to race at Le Mans, would you partner with anyone from the Kingdom, or would you choose to break out as a true independent?As prideful and selfish as it may sound, my crew and I would much prefer to race as our own team. It's not that we think we're better than other groups, but I see JLM EnduroSport as a family of sorts and I would like to stick with them from now until we can get a spot on the French grid. According to our notes, your team would be the first-ever Icelandic team to take on the GT Masters. While that in of itself is a great honor to us, rival teams look at you as a curiosity and little else. What motivated you and your team to do battle in the lands down under and of the rising sun?As already mentioned it is to show the world that Nordic has a lot of talented drivers and people that has a lot of passion for motorsport. Bobster's Bathurst Heartbreak
We were indeed prepared for some post-race banter and, to be honest, even of the "prickly" and "edgy" kind, but after seeing some of the events that unfolded this weekend in Australia, I think the best way to do so is to take a step back and put ourselves in the shoes of the people involved. And we are talking about Bobster Racing Systems.
We knew it from the start: the team wasn't necessarily aiming to another "popping debut" or another "Flight of the Valkyrie". They are still trying to get their footing, as a new team. So the practice sessions weren't absolutely spectacular and that was the first thing to address, with Rebecca Speed and Alister Dos Santos treating it like proper driving school sessions, maybe a little bit too much, since coming 14th out of it made the team owner Bobster Speed pretty uneasy, not to mention, the continuous media machine highlighting an internal fight for dominance in the team between Reckless Bex and the Paulista; a fight that maybe could have been a little bit too exaggerated for the sake of spectacle, as Bobster Speed stated: "The only thing we need to do is to conciliate their workflow, they are not at each other's throat. Has never been like that at all".
And on Sunday, the qualifying session seemed to have put everyone in good spirits, with a still remarkable P5 to start from, halfway in the points, but with a vague chance at a fight for the podium, if the cards are played right. Seven Hoshi Racing was in that case the main rival, even though the team stated in a pre-season interview that they were not looking for a rivalry at present. Or at least, this is what came from the voice of Alister Dos Santos.
Then the race started, and while most of the eyes were on the battle for the top in PRO Class between All Star Racing and Luna Corse, Bobster Racing, all things considered were putting on quite the show as promised, with Rebecca Speed doing her best to fend off any attempt to get pushed outside of the top 10 (and out of the track a few times), and Alister Dos Santos that, for being light footed, showed off quite considerable skills in making up for loss terrain, giving proof the two were really working efficiently together. This was for the two stops, that surprisingly were planned efficiently. Problem was as we got close to the end of the race, and the team made a third stop: according to insiders, should have been a pretty short one, so that Dos Santos could have been able to defend the position that Rebecca Speed once again, has struggled to gain back. Sadly, apparently a last minute refuelling was needed. Bobster Speed was seen waving arms and shouting to go out back on track as the rest of the pack were leaving the blue GT86 behind. When the stop was over, it was too late: the first race for Bobster Racing in over 20 years, ends dead last, bottom of the grid. And not enough time to make up the loss ground.
So at this point, we enter the Speculation Zone: there's who claims the last minute refuelling was requested by Dos Santos himself, stating there wasn't enough fuel to last until the end, therefore burning all the chances for Rebecca to put on a decent comeback; some others say that the GT86 simply is not competitive enough and was destined to lose its pace sooner or later; some others instead say that simply put three stops were too much, and the team simply played it too cautious. The most evil ones on the net, gang up instead on the drivers, especially Rebecca Speed claiming that she "doesn't look old at all, but her driving style does" (this was found on Tripwire). As a result, this defeat utterly crushed the team mood, but Rebecca Speed's the one that has been affected the most. For the first time in 20 years, we have been able to see her showing expressions of emotional openness like we never seen in her Formula days; something that a few photographers maybe took too much advantage of, especially when yesterday, a picture of a Rebecca Speed sitting on the ground hugging her legs, absolutely destroyed and saddened by the performance, popped up on the Revo Magazine Tripwire profile. As a result, she has been locking herself in her motorhome and absolutely refused to meet anyone of the press. The "Strictly No Admittance" sign, is still there and the door is still closed. Bobster Speed wrote on his Tripwire page that following the photo accident the team is "done being nice about media, and whoever is looking for a scoop about our despair right now can go really kiss a penguin. Yes, we are all absolutely heartbroken over this result and therefore please we insist to be left being while we are in condition to give our view on this race.
Thank you for understanding and congratulations to the winners.
This ain't over. We'll be back stronger next time". After this, Revo Magazine removed the picture from their Tripwire page.
Alister Dos Santos himself refuses to speak to the press, but the fact we can see him roaming around the paddock means that he kept the strong mindset and lucidity in order to keep on going. The only person we were able to really have a chat with was the chief mechanic, Daniele Gilbert, which really could only spare a few words on what was in order for the next race in Sydney: "We are aiming at a few upgrades to increase the car performance and we are going to absolutely overhaul the entire strategy. I wasn't the one that came up with it, but I can safely say it was [Italian dialect], absolute rubbish, we didn't need one extra stop. We absolutely gained position with immense strain and seeing that all our efforts went out of the window because of that last stop really made us very very upset and we will not make that happen again".
Strategy or not, one thing is clear: Rebecca Speed is carrying over her shoulders the weight of the world and of a massive heartbreak. And the question is, will we see Reckless Bex again, or will this just trigger the birth of a new Rebecca Speed, hopefully with a new strength to bring on the field? Either way, we'd like to wish Rebecca and Bobster Racing all the best, especially as we approach the next round of the J-Speed GT Masters in Sydney.

BATHURST (Australia) - After two days of complete isolation from teammates and media, Rebecca Speed finally shown up again to the paddock of Bobster Racing to the relief of everyone. "I am alright. I'm sorry everyone" the first words she said to the team principal Bobster Speed. The British driver went on complete radio silence after an unauthorised picture of herself appeared on the Tripwire page of Revo Magazine - the picture portrayed her in a very fragile emotional state, exacerbated by the disastrous conclusion of the first race in Bathurst of the ata!GO J-Speed GT Masters Championship, that seen her and the second driver Alister Dos Santos, defending their position respectably, until after the third pit stop, when they weren't able to make up for loss ground and finishing dead last in the standings. Once the picture appeared on the net, Rebecca Speed just locked herself in her motorhome, while Bobster Speed, with inflamed words, threatened the Magazine with legal actions in the case the picture wasn't removed. According to insiders, Revo Magazine has removed the picture from their Tripwire page and the photographer that took it has been suspended. Jim Lyle, of Pole Position Radio, has stated that in sign of solidarity and respect, no pictures of Rebecca Speed won't be posted on their website for their review of the race.
"That last stop" stated Speed in an impromptu press conference outside the paddock "it was my fault. I wanted to try a crack at a last minute strategy. Now I know that being too cautious was a risk and was instead worth carrying on to conserve the position. I assume my responsibilities and I'd like to apologise; this prove I yet have so much to learn to work together with my teammates and is my intention to carry on and work better and harder to deliver the results we want". She also turned to her fans that showered her with support on her Tripwire page: "I am humbled by the love of everyone and I would like to thank all my fans that checked on me for their support and concern. If I am still here, doing the best I can, is because of you beautiful people".
The team allowed a short improvised photoshoot before departing for Sydney, where the second round of the championship is planned at the Sydney Motor Park and Bobster Racing is going to get immediately to work to pick up the pace and make up for lost ground.

Tire Troubles Plague Neptunia Corse
The first round of the J-Speed GT Masters turned out to be one of the best in recent history, with Allstar Racing taking the victory over Luna Corse in a wild battle to the finish. However during this battle the Ferrari of Neptunia Corse dropped off the pace and was overtaken by the foreign Team DRAGON Supras right near the end. The team had a few things to say about the tire manufacturer’s performance after Bathurst.
“Quarry became a nightmare to exit once these tires began to drop off,” Marisa di Vallelunga shared in a press conference, “It was absolutely ridiculous. The Astaroth teams managed to beat us in every damn aspect near the end of the race. When we inspected the tires blistering and graining had started to appear. When you look at Astaroth, Tohno, Zenshin this doesn’t happen. Yet Marcelli can’t seem to make a tire that doesn’t fall apart after half an hour; it’s fucking ridiculous.”
“We’re willing to work together with Marcelli to bring a more capable tire to Sydney,” Cornelia Biaggi stated, “it’s notoriously a tough track for the tires so we’re hoping they can hold up for the 300 kilometers. We have confidence that they will provide us with the best set that they can come Sunday, and the shorter race distance will play to our strengths.”
Marcelli representatives have not been able to be reached for comment. The Italian manufacturer supplies for only one team in GTE PRO, but provides services to three teams in GTE AM.

Suffering from Success? Ballast could play a major part in Sydney, warns Allstar Racing boss
Fresh off victory at the season opening Bathurst 500km, Porsche squad Allstar Racing must surely be near the top of the list when considering potential podium contenders at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend. Or are they? Team boss Jim Baker warns that success ballast could give us a top 10 that looks very different to what we saw at the season opener. “If you’re expecting a similar result to Bathurst I reckon you’ll be in for quite the surprise.” Jim responded when asked about his expectations for Round 2. “I think it’s fair to say that there were a few teams who had a very disappointing race at Mount Panorama. And those teams will show up here with no ballast and a point to prove, and I think we’re going to see them right back up front where everyone expected them to be. Our 18kg weight handicap means that, realistically, we’re not going to be in the fight this round.” When asked if he thought the ballast system should be removed Jim was quick to shut that opinion down. “No, that’s not what I’m saying at all. Over a season, even as soon as the next race at Sepang, we’ll start to see things balance out. This is just a ‘perfect storm’ of a situation where not only do we have the most ballast, there are some very, very strong teams who are showing up 18kg lighter than us. We’re going to give it everything of course, but we’re prepared for it to be a very difficult weekend."

Let's start off simple - Ai, what should newer fans in the GT Masters know about you?I'm a multi-disciplinary talent - a proud and true Tuner Queen. Bobster Racing and the art of Proper Comeback
Ok, pardon me for being direct but… WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED IN SYDNEY???
I am still in awe, not going to lie, like many others of you that witnessed the absolute sheer of chaos, heart pounding action and most importantly the crescendo from lap 31 onwards of the comeback of Bobster Racing, with an unexpectedly tenacious Alister Dos Santos that climbed back from the nightmare of the pit stop until clinging on the first place for dear life. Until that damn last corner, the blue GT86, that so much has suffered in Bathurst, seemed a completely different machine sure, but also the drivers felt different. With a different self awareness, a different spirit, a different kind of strength; a statement that was clear since both practice and qualifying sessions, where the new strengths of the Toyota driven by Rebecca Speed and Alister Dos Santos allowed them to start the race from second place, just right behind the Pegasus Motorsports' NSX: Reckless Bex and Dos Santos Nacional (like the Brazilian TV commentator Calvão Pleno called him as soon as he passed the checkered flag) are ready to knock on the door of both Ichikawa and Wolfe.
In the race, while the PRO fight was all between the Fujinami team, Tsukushima’s NSX and the Supra of Team HIME’s, Rebecca Speed kept a comfortable 3rd position on the podium until it’s pit stop time - lap 31. Dos Santos swaps and the GT86 is out again with fresh tires and fuelled up. A bit early, maybe, but as soon as the blue Toyota is back on track, Alister starts to make up for loss ground and miraculously navigating the traffic, finally on the 45th lap, arrives at the door of the top of the podium, and as soon as Nazareth Jr’s pits in, at 11 laps from the end, that’s when it happens: Bom Dia Brasil, the Paulista is heading the AM class and he’s not fooling around anymore. He knows when to push and when is time to defend himself and now is time for both. Especially with Wolfe’s NSX right behind him but “no cigar” as Kaoru Shimizu (RHU commentator) repeats on screen; final laps of teeth-grinding tension, even with the incognita of the Equinox’s Bentley (the boat as is colloquially called) in 3rd place that would love to get a slice of success after an excellent performance on their behalf and not to mention the traffic, gosh the traffic. But all is useless, Alister Dos Santos doesn’t budge, and at the very last corner, one last push and is checkered flag - ALISTER DO BRASIL! Alister the Brazilian, screams Calvão Pleno on top of his lungs; “Alister Dos Santos you have won the race, mate! Stellar job!” blares Bobster Speed from the team radio as the Paulista cannot help but yell in absolute sheer happiness after probably the most surprising and exhilarating comeback race ever seen in a long time.
So how did it happen? Well, of course the cars were being improved, Daniele Gilbert stated “From the night we departed from Bathurst, I spent my time staying awake and trying to consider all the possible factors that could help us succeed in here; weight reduction was in order of course, and also managed to get a small tweak to the frontal weight distribution, but the biggest factor technically was the engine upgrade, which we needed the most in order to result competitive with the rest of the pack”. When asked about the success ballast being a factor in the upcoming race in Sepang, he stated: “We are already working on various approaches on how to mitigate this problem”.
But there’s another factor to consider: the team strategy, which many may have considered bland and “suicidal”, instead proved to be incredibly effective on this track and is all thanks to the latest team acquisition, former Rebecca Speed’s team mate and Stock Car champion, Lisa Garnier, which explains it this way: “You see, the trick is that everyone will overlook this kind of strategy as they think is not really effective. All we know is, we stop at lap 31, therefore we have Rebecca piling up the pressure on the teams and then pitting in so we can switch to Alister. All done right? But also the other teams need to get new tires on and refuel sooner or later, and there’s traffic, lapping, and many yellow flags as well. And Alister is a driver that is well aware of when is time to go hard and when is time to wait for his move. So, with an early stop, we were able to go for a nice and easy approach”. Garnier’s smile, along with her model-like figure (that causes heartthrob on social media) , shows that beauty and intelligence absolutely coexist and that can lead a team to a roaring comeback.
And the drivers? A now radiant Bobster Speed says: “I have to be honest, I was just expecting to get to the points, but as soon as the qualifying was over, I realized we could aim higher. I had complete faith in both Becca and Alister and I am absolutely proud of the terrific performance they showed off today!”. Rebecca Speed didn’t even spare nice words for her rivals: “I have nothing but respect for the other drivers, especially the lasses at Equinox, they showed great tenacity and I think they are among the teams to beat this season. Also both Ichikawa and Wolfe knew how to fight but today was our day. Still we will do it again soon, ay?”.
And Dos Santos? The Paulista has just enough voice to claim: “I am so so happy. I am thankful to the team and everybody for the support. I don’t remember the last time I was so happy on a podium and today, after the race that has been, the adrenalin and the tension, is indeed one of the best moments of my career.”
Champagne, fireworks, thunderbolts and lightning at Bobster Racing then. Now it is all on them to prove that this win is not gonna be a one-hit wonder.

"Today wasn't exactly the result we weren't looking for... the car didn't absolutely feel as competitive as it was in Sydney and turning was a bit of a hurdle. For both me and Alister. I know it may sound a bit excessive but, yeah... At some points it felt like I was driving a garbage lorry *laugh*... and we missed the Top 10 by a hair. But I'm not going to let that get to me - at the end of the day, even though we cannot win *all* the races, we are still on the map somehow, even though in the mid field. Is still a long season: for what I see it, is a marathon and not a sprint.
And I know there are going to be many people criticizing us now... like... looking down and saying that we "jinxed it" or we are just a "flash in the pan" or some shit like that. I say that what you do in the track matters more, beyond bloody press statements and final position. Most of us come from a different age in racing without any... success ballast and junk, so we need to study. We are a bunch of good students. We'll do our homework properly and be back for the next race in the best form we can..."

When "Mama" Haruna Tsukishima took the J-Speed GT Masters title in 2003 with the late snowboarding pioneer Elena Celeste, it seemed like every young girl wanted to become the next great lady racer overnight. Since then, numerous drivers and team owners have risen up to shape the history of this movement. Few have risen up the ranks as quickly as PWRband Technica, a race team run by football (soccer, for us Americans) legend Nina Bridgehampton. We got the opportunity to do a deep dive with the team principal to answer a number of questions from the fans and ourselves. Even with your meteoric rise to the top class, we still need to you to introduce the team to newer fans. What should they know about you?
“This is PWRBand Technica, and I’m Nina Bridgehampton. We’re a relatively new team to the scene but I really do believe we have what it takes to challenge even the most established names in sports car racing. My father ran his own race team back in the day and I would have probably become a racing driver if anything turned out different. Well… as you can see that’s now how things went, isn’t it? Hehe~...
No matter; we’re here now. When I first drafted the idea for PWRBand back when playing for California Southside I wanted something that could stand out from the usual outfits you see. A big inspiration for me was PARSEC WRT who are now in the Global Endurance Masters, with Anemoon von Assen boasting a womens’ only staff and driver line up. I wanted to do largely the same but in the States. Thankfully I had quite a bit of money stowed away to make the idea a reality plus I called up a few friends who would help with the process…
Alright, what about your goals for the 2021 IMAS GT Championship season?
Our goal, hm~? Of course, with the talent we secured we’re aiming for the title. It’s quite an ambitious goal to have in mind but with our two potent squads… I don’t see why it couldn’t be possible. Just in case that statement ages poorly though… just a few wins would do!”
Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squads?
“First of all I want them to be cuties. Aha, only joking~. I think what captivates me the most about a driver isn’t their pace but their commitment instead. It’s cliche but stay with me for a moment, please! Back when I captained for Artillery I saw many young women who had the capacity to become world class, but they never had the attitude suited for such a level. It’s easy to be drawn in by all the glamour and fame at first but that’s when your passion is tested to its absolute limit.
When I saw Ryoko (Maruyama), I could sense the absolute determination she had to become a top tier talent. She was insanely excited to talk about racing, was asking all these questions about our team and wanted to see every aspect of our operation. I fell in love with the little angel right then and there, and with where she is with her driving skill it was a no brainer to have her sign on for this season.
Risa (Aoyama) hasn’t had a traditional career up to this point, but I think it’s just as valid as Ryoko. Someone who just cleans out the Porsche Cup season from out of nowhere is bound to get a lot of attention, no matter where you got your start. At first you see this laid back, soft speaking sweetheart of a woman, but once she’s behind the wheel she becomes a demon of the night. If you blink you might miss her~
May (Yumizuka) and Noire (Tremblant) are the last pieces of the puzzle. I’ve been wanting to see May have a chance at the top level and I thought it was a bit unfair for all the criticism to be thrown at her. Of course, she’s made mistakes but what I focus on are the events before the incident. Was she going fast before she got those unlucky breaks? Yes? Then there’s a base we can work off of! Noire and I have known each other for a while, and I think she’s the perfect girl to give May a side of maturity to her craft. I think they get along very well already…”
Which event is your team looking forward to the most this season, and why?
“Oh, I think it’s very well known. We want to get both California rounds exactly right. Long Beach is right in our vicinity but we never had any luck. It’s a bit sad, isn’t it? I feel like this year will be it though; in fact Risa knows these streets like the back of her hand since she’s grown up around here!”
Is there anyone in the series you'd consider a rival at this time? If so, who?
“Ah, I don’t know if I can really consider anyone a true rival, but we’re keeping an eye on a few teams for sure…
Even if they are new blood to the class, you cannot deny how competent Raiden Motorsports have been. Their driver lineup has been largely the same for a bit so they’re obviously a well oiled machine now. The Ford GT is a great machine as well, but is it as good as the 911? Hmm… maybe not~!
Of course if we’re aiming for a championship we’re coming up against Toyota, Corvette and McLaren as well. I’m sure Porsche faithful will love to see the 911 up front once again, and I can promise we will try our absolute best. I think I’ve had enough seeing those three swap honors around~”
All-girls squads are nothing unusual in the modern motorsports landscape, but they've never won at Le Mans; if your team won the championship this year, do you aim to change that?
“Without hesitation! You know, it surprises me that it hasn’t been done before… though I suppose it’s a case of just maximizing the talent you have at your disposal. A team at that level just takes about anyone who can produce the results, no matter the gender. It’s been starting to shift more towards women now though…
I think the best way I would tackle this is that I don’t do it because it’s going to be the first all womens’ team to win Le Mans, but it’s going to be my team that wins Le Mans. I just happen to hire all women in my squads and in my staff. That sounds a little selfish but I bet if you were in my situation you’d feel the same, aha~. If only I could drive in that race myself…”

Stingin' Strong Style! The Buzz with Hornet's Nest image: The Hornet's Nest Supra at the IMAS Manufacturer's test earlier this FebruaryWhile pro wrestling is a predetermined show, its influence on motorsports personalities is surprisingly profound. In the present era of racing, more and more drivers have adopted personas that seem like larger-than-life superheroes, mega-villains, or even beings of the supernatural. The Central American Stock Car Association (CASCA) adopted a collective persona not unlike luchadores, high-flying wrestlers known for their exceptional acrobatics and showmanship. CASCA's over the top powerslides and bumper-to-bumper racing, combined with track and car designs practically tailored to two-wheel curb hopping turned their top series into a touring championship unlike any other. It may come as a surprise to some then, that the North Americans were a bit slower to adopt these personalities than their counterparts in Latin America or the Asia-Pacific teams. Hornet's Nest is the brainchild of stock car veteran and pro wrestling legend Hiromu Ishimori, but while he is the lead driver of this squad, it's team principal Bryce Shane who built the fledgling stable of what some are calling "Strong Style Racing". Introduce us to the team, and tell us - what are your goals for the 2021 season?Bryce Shane: "Thank you for taking the time to come interview us, I'm the team principal Bryce Shane, vice president of the American arm of Mishima Zaibatsu and head of the racing division. Our drivers are Hiromu Ishimori and Minoru Takagi, our chief mechanic Kay Lee Priestly, and our strategist and tactical wizard Will Sabre Jr.
Our goals for the season are simple, crush it on the track and take home the trophies. The queens might reign, but the kings are gunning for their throne."Was there any particular selection process to picking your Driver Squad and heads of staff?Shane: "When it came for the formation of the Hornet's Nest, we scouted and picked the best of the best up and coming prospects. The pedigree of Scuderia Pergusa speaks for itself, and both Raiden teams have potential, as does Aces High."It's rather unusual to see wrestling and motorsport cross over; what drew you to the world of racing?Minoru Takagi: " Wrestling and racing actually aren't as dissimilar as you'd think!" BREAKING - Bobster Racing suspends Rebecca Speed upon London joyride controversy. Luka Ogami to replace her in Buriram.coverage by Roberto Bazzoni
Pictured above: (left) Team Manager Bobster Speed (right) Rebecca Speed captured by a passerby in London Thursday nightLONDON (United Kingdom) - A ladies night turned out to be a massive PR incident for Bobster Racing Systems when the titular driver Rebecca Speed not only has been caught speeding in the middle of London by the Met Police, but also decided to fight back (despite "telematically") Risa Aoyama on Tripwire when confronted about the dangerousness of her actions.
The 37 years old first driver for Bobster Racing has been handed a massive £3000 fine (then paid in full by an anonymous "close friend") for travelling at an excess of 170mph in Westminster ("nobody was hurt" according to her Tripwire post); while this may have been a good show for people walking by, it was also deemed as irresponsible behaviour by Aoyama. If the British driver owned up to her mistake, that would have been the end of it - unfortunately, her reply shown a totally different attitude:
"Sorry luv is THIS how you spend your free time? Telling people from other championships how to live their lives?
We had fun, nobody was hurt. So, ye. Don't - aight?" (from Rebecca Speed Tripwire profile)
The reaction was met with absolute fury by J-Speed personalities, but most of all, by Haruna Tsukishima and Tomoko Ishigawa that commented "I've never been more disappointed in a fellow JSAGTM driver in my entire motorsports career. Disgraceful." and "I could empathize with someone hooning in an empty lot or some backroad where no one goes, but packed city streets!? Way to undo all the hard work the Kaido Association and my crew have done in the past 20 years.". The dog-piling continued and not even colleagues in the team itself even managed to defend her behavior, with the most surprising reaction coming from the teammate Alister Dos Santos which stated: "As teammate, I join the chorus of disapproval for Rebecca's actions. I always thought that her way of behaving was mostly being a "free spirit" like the team chefe said, but I can see the discomfort of everyone with this happening. I extend my apologies to everyone on behalf of the team as well".
Following the immense backlash, Bobster Speed himself stepped up to attempt some damage control and announced that Rebecca Speed is going to be suspended for the next two races and her place will be filled by the third driver for the team, Japanese Luka Ogami. The 49 years old team owner and manager posted the following statement: "Our team has always been for security in racing. Is a position that never changed since we started in 1993, and even more after witnessing the death of my dear friend and teammate René Perrault in 1992.
Unfortunately, Rebecca made herself protagonist of both actions and statements from which we completely dissociate, unanimously; all this has been made even more serious by the tone adopted by said statements on social media when she has been made aware of her mistakes. Again, Bobster Racing doesn't share or approve this vision at all and absolutely respects the hard work put through by both the J-Speed Association and Kaido Association in making this sport what it is today. But I am well aware that actions are louder than words and as much in the past I always defended Rebecca's spontaneousness and free spirit there is only so much that brotherly love can do in this case.
Therefore, after meeting up and discussing with the rest of the team, we have decided to suspend Rebecca for the next two races - our third driver, Luka Ogami, will race alongside Alister Dos Santos instead, but I want to make sure that any eventual decision were taken by the J-Speed Association in order to properly discipline Rebecca, will be accepted without any reserve. This way, Bex will have time to seriously think about her actions and to deliver finally the performance this team deserves. Her return behind the wheel will be conditionally linked to this commitment.
I would like finally, to also apologize personally to Risa Aoyama, Haruna Tsukishima and Tomoko Ishigawa
for this gross and unforgivable incident. This is not what our team is about and again, we absolutely respect and honor the hard work put towards this sport".
The team so far scored a victory in Sydney and missed the Top 10 by a hair in the last race in Sepang: after this massive setback, work during the season will prove to be even harder and as for Rebecca Speed, this is a heavy blow from which the "Valkyrie" will struggle to recover unless she reflects on her actions and her attitude as a whole.

What a headache, Bobster!
This has been a full week for the guys at Bobster Racing, and unfortunately, for all the wrong reasons - on Thursday Rebecca Speed thought to test out her brand new Nissan Skyline, the "Becca Special", in the middle of London, speeding through cabs and buses, gaining the attention of many passerbys that posted clips and pictures on social media, but also of the London Metropolitan Police, which hit Reckless Bex with a not-unimportant £3000 speeding ticket. That should be really the end of it, everyone had their joyrides, including Bobster Speed himself, which in an interview in 1987 would say how he had to steal his father's Mini to take parts in street races around the home town of Berkington. The difference is, that Bobster owned the mistake and admitted it. Rebecca though, took a different path.
And that was her biggest mistake.
As soon as the news hit Tripwire, Risa Aoyama, from the PWRband Technica team, reshared the news describing her behaviour as "not cool". The reaction of Rebecca, rather than to apologize, was of a cocky teenage bully simply telling Aoyama "to not tell her how to live her life out of the track". And that was the start of a social media chain reaction; maximum exponents of the J-Speed Association heavily condemned her action, this time in a very vocal way, the most striking declaration though, came from Haruna Tsukishima which said on her Tripwire page: "I've never been more disappointed in a fellow #JSAGTM driver in my entire motorsports career. Disgraceful." To that, more and more followed, and the British driver finally realized, it was maybe time for a reality check. But also her team as well. Is worth to note that even Alister Dos Santos joined the chorus of disapproval, putting his clown mask away for once, and showing to be a much more composed and dignified driver.
Following the facts, Bobster Speed has been literally flooded with calls and emails from sponsors which were visibly worried by the situation, especially the Japanese computer conglomerate Neucom Inc., which didn't see well Rebecca being hired as they'd preferred a Japanese driver. After a "war council" at night, the team decided to suspend Rebecca Speed for both the race in Buriram and in Hokkaido, in favour of their third driver, Japanese former Hill Climb regular and part of the Neucom's "Sponsorship Package", Luka Ogami. The decision though, must have not been easy at all but it was necessary to push Rebecca to think seriously about her actions and appeared to be working. According a rather lengthy update on her page, she tried to reach out to the people that were the mostly offended by her actions directly as she says: "I had already enough people that worked to clean up this absolute pigstye I have caused and I think it is my turn to give something back now." From what we understand, Aoyama got back to Rebecca, meanwhile Tsukishima decided to take it to the front page stating publicly that she "burned the trust of many people in a short time" and that despite her accepting the apology she'd be "wise not to abuse the privileges your allies grant any further". Along with this, various death threats arrived to Bobster himself, both for benching Reckless Bex but also even more for not firing her on the spot.
The stress the British team had to deal with took the toll on Bobster Speed, which apparently fell sick last night due to exhaustion and has been ordered by the Medical Officer to take two weeks of absolute rest; as a consequence, Lisa Garnier will be undertaking Management duties for Buriram and the round in Hokkaido, stating that Rebecca is still welcomed in the paddock even though not in a driving capacity.
Another thing to take in account are also the statements of Luka Ogami herself: "Rebecca Speed's style is slow and sluggish and absolutely not adapt to this competition.
She absolutely refuses to participate in any form of development of the car and she is not able to take any chances on the track.
Is childish and not reflect her age.
I vow to bring the appropriate result to this team in the next race". Ogami is known to be a very fast and aggressive driver, even more than Rebecca, but is quite odd on the human point of view and from the tone of these statements some weird conspiracies are even going around stating that she wants to outperform Rebecca Speed in order to get her fired. An oddly quick reply to this allegation came from her title sponsor Neucom Inc. which just stated "is just her way to express herself - Luka doesn't approve of anything that is below her standards".
But the bottom line is loud and clear, far from the cockpit, Rebecca Speed will need to ask herself questions and finally smoothen out the aspect of her character that got her in this situation, getting her head back out of the '90s and back in the game, in the present day.
Actions, in this case, are clearly louder than words.

PWRBand Technica Announces Drivers for Endurance Rounds In a surprise announcement, Canadian driver Juliette di Prisco has reportedly secured an endurance driver role at PWRBand Technica for the Daytona and Sebring rounds after being dropped from the team earlier this year. The now full-time DJ has a second chance to impress team owner and principal Nina Bridgehampton in the #912 for the Florida crown jewel races. “It’s an opportunity I will promise not to squander, and I’m very grateful that Nina had me come back to the team to help them for the 1000 mile races. I was planning to play a set at Daytona but I guess I gotta mix it up on the track once again!” Nina Bridgehampton has also contracted the services of Vietnamese-American driver Mai Ly who has been performing stellarly in the IMAS Super Production Challenge, piloting a GT Sprint car. “I see a lot of talent and passion coming out of this beautiful young woman,” Nina told Radio Endurance Nation at the 500 Miles of New York, “I’ve been eyeing her for quite a while from Rookie Grand Prix cars to now. I’m quite honestly surprised no one has ever picked up on Ms. Ly throughout and I feel lucky to be the first. When she sat her cute butt down in my office to discuss the terms of her contract I was just carried away by her… oh, she’s so adorable… ah, yes, and she can drive too.” The jump from GT Sprint to GTE PRO will be a large ask for Ly, but both parties are very confident about her debut as an endurance driver at Daytona and Sebring. No news of a contract renewal for Noire Tremblant has come out recently, and several reports have revealed she is rumored to strike a deal with Neptunia Corse in Japan for a 2022 GT Masters campaign as they move headquarters from Italy. She was not available for comment but it is reportedly linked with one of the endurance drivers taking her role for the next season. "She hasn't come back to me with negotiations for next year; I feel as if it is too early to think about that really. We're on amicable terms. If she wishes to stay that's her choice, but if she wants to go elsewhere then so be it. We're close, it would be terrible for me to stunt her career if she feels like she isn't growing anymore at PWRBand."

Hokkaido: Bobster family finally reunited Rebecca Speed allowed testing of the car ahead of the Hokkaido Speed Ring round, Ogami still first drive in the race. New upgrades in sight for the British Blues.

Two shots of Rebecca Speed testing at the Hokkaido Speed Ring on Tuesday For a driver, there couldn't be a better birthday present than winning for their own team. But as for now, this will just do for Rebecca Speed that, after 2 weeks of "exile" from the Bobster paddock and the cockpit, celebrated her 38th birthday following the rest of the Bobster posse in Hokkaido for the round at the Hokkaido Speed Ring... as test driver. In fact, her race ban imposed by the team is still valid for this round, with the Japanese Luka Ogami filling in the role as first driver along the Brazilian Dos Santos, but the team took the freedom to fly to Japan early, in order to perform additional testing in order to improve the reliability and competitiveness of their GT-86 that since the round in Sepang, has been dropping in performance significantly compared to the round in Sydney.
The decision to allow Speed to act uniquely as test driver came after some consideration from both Lisa Garnier, lead strategist consultant acting as team manager, and BRS' supremo, Bobster Speed, that followed the team in Japan as well, even though not exercising the full duty as team manager as barely recovering from his stress meltdown from a few weeks ago. "I really had lots to think about everything" stated Rebecca "I understood that before getting back behind the wheel, I first of all need to improve as a human being, work on myself more and my attitude in general. If this is something that will help my team, I am more than ready to do so. There's a time when you need to put the toys away and grow up. I think that is it." When asked about the happenings in London that lead to the massive backlash, she says: "Going back, I would slap meself in the face. Knowing it would have led to this disaster, I would have never did that". The team is ecstatic to have Bex back in some capability, even though Ogami, with the usual strict attitude declared: "She's clearly inferior". Ogami put on a commanding drive during the last round in Buriram, before handing over to Dos Santos.
Rebecca has been testing the Toyota in Hokkaido since Tuesday completing over 50 laps so far, with positive impressions and renewed optimism from the rest of the team, especially considering that one of the major sponsors, Neucom Inc., is shipping over a brand new Advanced Hybrid system the Blues can start to take advantage of from this round. Marie McLaren, young but brilliant engineer intern for Bosbter, stated: "I am going to work with Daniele (chief mechanic for BRS NoA) on how to optimize the system and obtain the best possible performance from it. Is very scary, but at the same time very exciting for me". Lisa Garnier also stated: "The quasi-oval nature of this track makes me honestly jealous of the fact I can't drive on it - however we are absolutely optimistic about this round and we will do anything we can to be back in the fight".

Miura Announces Retirement From Full Time Racing Duties, Set To Become New Neptunia Corse Team Principal for 2022 The Japanese driver from Morioka has officially released a statement announcing their retirement just before the first practice session at Hokkaido Speed Ring, 246 Press reports. 45 years of age, Hibiki Miura has been a major player in the world of sports car racing throughout the late 90s and 00s, briefly having a stint in Lightning Car afterwards in the 2010s being awarded Rookie of the Year in 2011 and achieving a single race win in the forthcoming years. They then made a surprise return to Neptunia Corse in 2018, winning the Aeternam Euroseries and securing automatic promotion to the Superleague in which they’d move up to the GTE PRO class and secure the title in 2020. While they’re at an early age to retire for most drivers in the modern era, many speculate that the current team principal and owner of Neptunia Corse, Cornelia Biaggi, is suffering from health issues that have made it difficult for her to attend the previous round at Buriram. An interim principal was assigned, however their lack of performance clearly showed that they would require a permanent solution to continue their new found competitive streak. “It’s been a difficult decision and I know a lot of my fans will be shocked to hear it, maybe some were already succumbing to the rumors that were circling around. She would no doubt be a good fit as her consistent driving style emulates that of Miura, serving as a worthy replacement. However, the Canadian has stated that she has recently received a contract renewal from PWRBand Technica along with a drive with STARtec Technologies in Lightning Car being considered to accompany Kendra Seattle. If she were to take the Neptunia Corse seat she would be one of the very few Canadians to ever compete in the J-Speed GT Masters. Russian prospect Katarina Voronin is also being considered after being recently released from Empress Autosport, Neptunia Corse’s bitter rivals. The baggage carried may sweeten the deal and serve as incentive to perform even higher than her disappointing 2021 campaign. Katarina and Marisa di Vallelunga were seen together in a social media post, showing that their relationship had improved after being released. It is unclear however if her skills would fit the team as Biaggi had reinforced a desire for light footed drivers, but there would be a good chance if other deals didn’t work out. She may potentially serve as an endurance driver for the 1000km which would prove to be a test of her worthiness against Tremblant for the hotly desired seat in 2022.

Ai Tsukishima Confirmed Missing Kamitsue 300km Following Hokkaido Crash By: J.R. O'ConnellyIt has been confirmed that after Ai Tsukishima's crash in the Hokkaido GT 300KM, the Queen of Osaka's Tuner Kingdom will not be attending the upcoming Kamitsue GT 300KM as a competitor due to precautionary measures taken due to minor but multiple leg injuries sustained from the incident. According to the team's post-race investigation, a catastrophic suspension failure led to a steering tie rod being knocked loose, resulting in Tsukishima's NSX careening into the pit lane dividing barrier at just over 250 kilometers per hour. Her car was then launched into the left-side Armco barrier after the crash structure of the Honda was weakened from the initial impact. "By the time I realized what had happened, it was too late. I was just a passenger at that point", Tsukishima stated. The Hokkaido Speed Ring, formerly the Mikado Technology High Speed Test Track (or HSTT), has been the site of many a classic race in the GT Masters' since its debut in 2005 after the track was bought out by the J-Speed Association when Mikado Technologies was on the verge of bankruptcy in 2000. When Mikado recovered financially in 2010, they bought back partial rights to the track, now known under its present name. However, despite multiple major crashes resulting in prolonged safety car periods in 2007, 2009, and 2013, Mikado did not upgrade the circuit's safety capabilities, as none of them resulted in more than minor injuries. Sayori Mikado, the current CEO of Mikado Technologies and team principal for Project DSRE, commented on the incident: "I am embarrassed and disappointed that our facility could not fully prevent the injuries sustained by Tsukishima. Despite our checkered past in the 80s and 90s, the Mikado of today strives to be a paragon for advancements in driver and trackside safety. I am personally very sorry for what has occurred." Currently Tsuchigami no Kyojin has yet to name a substitute for the upcoming event set to be in Autopolis, but several drivers could be in line to take Ai Tsukishima's place. Valkyrie eSports competitor Valeria Gallo has been playing the role of co-driver in a number of major endurance races for Honda, including her appearance as Westside Motorsports' third driver in the Daytona All-Night Endurance Trophy. "Ever since I began playing Racing Passion at a young age, it was always my dream to drive the Tsuchigami NSX for real. I'm best friends with the players of Digi House Tsuchigami, their GT Masters eSports division, but it'd be even better to race, even if only once for Tsuchigami no Kyojin", says Gallo. Another potential candidate for the role could be Ai's mother Haruna Tsukishima, despite her recent retirement from full time competition in the GT Masters. "I feared for the day this would happen, but I know she can trust me if I am well and truly the person she needs to count on", says the former team principal. The Kamitsue GT 300KM will be scheduled to be on the weekend from July 9th to 11th.

BREAKING - Ogami dismissed from Bobster Racing due to poor performance and alleged "lack of general cooperation". Rebecca Speed coming back as first driver in Kamitsue.

A song goes like "Oh My God, It's a mirage / I'm telling y'all is SABOTAGE". Not exactly the term that was used publicly, but Bobster Speed, team manager of Bobster Racing Systems has led members of the press to understand, in a short statement during a press conference, that Luka Ogami was deliberately "holding down the team potential" as well as "jeopardizing the general unity through abusive behaviour towards the staff", describing an episode that involved Ogami herself and Alister Dos Santos that Rebecca Speed brought to attention right after finishing the pre-testing session for the team. Ogami has been escorted out of the paddock as soon as she pitted in during the race in Hokkaido, at the presence of a representative of her title sponsor Neucom Inc., Cynthia Fitzgerald, that tried to persuade Bobster Speed to desist in ending said relationship, but all was useless. As soon as she left the Bobster garage, Alister Dos Santos was sent out for the remaining of the race, lifting the team to a more than respectable 8th race in a race dominated by surprise accidents and retires. Fitzgerald has stated to feel "disappointed and saddened by the decision of Mr. Speed. However, we won't hold a grudge about it, our support contract will carry on throughout the season". Neucom Inc. produces the Advanced Hybrid System upgrade shipped in occasion of the race in Hokkaido. This has already started another kind of competition, though, to win the heart of the British Blues for a new sponsorship deal for next season: in pole position (no pun intended), General Resource LTD. and the Bista Group, Monegasque investments firm owned by Alberto Bista, old pal of Bobster Speed at the time in Formula Junior in the '80s. "Today is one of those occasions that shows victories not always come with trophies. Sometimes, victories are all about being able to stand back up after a bad fall." Bobster Speed stated on his Tripwire page. "We sure don't come from a lineage of racing drivers or have a multi-national financial empire to back us, we make mistakes, many. All of us, but in the end, is what make us who we are. And we are proud of it. Because despite how many times we fall, we always get back up and give our best once again". Asked why he decided to "ban" Rebecca himself after the London happenings, rather than allow the J-Speed Association to take action, he jokingly asserted: "Nobody punishes me sister except me". The team is already on route to the Autopolis Race Track and Lisa Garnier may need to undertake scouting duties for a third driver, needed for the dreaded Suzuka 1000km race scheduled in September. Bobster Racing: Hopeful, Renewed Spirit in Autopolis
Tadaima, we’re back. The school bell rang and recess is over, well, it was over since before the last appointment in Hokkaido for the J-Speed GT Masters warriors: a race made up of departures, returns and unexpected outcomes, but also of family reunions. At the moment, in Kamitsue, hometown of the Autopolis race track, is 27 degrees, with light rain forecasted for later in the day, but still didn’t stop the enthusiasm of the teams that just arrived at the track to kick off the pre-testing carousel; among this teams, Bobster Racing was among the first trucks to base camp, this time, with the whole family reunited. Yes, Rebecca Speed finally takes her place behind the wheel, after 2 races in which the British Blues gained not possibly the best results of the season. The blame falls on one person: Luka Ogami, which the media hailed as a “racer to keep your eyes glued on”, instead ended up being not only a massive disappointment, but also a prime example of what a driver should NOT be behind the scenes. Now, while Rebecca Speed clearly did wrong in London, is something that can be forgiven, especially considering she has been through some sort of “re-discover journey” in her absence as an official driver (more on that later). But what Luka Ogami did instead, cannot be forgiven: beyond the subpar performance that didn’t sure meet the expectations to keep their head above water, is her way to just treat each and every single member of the team like simple objects that needs to be addressed. Behind her cryptic one-sentence social media statements in fact, there was much more happening behind the scenes, culminating in an accident witnessed by Rebecca Speed herself, during the pre-testing session in Hokkaido. “I just completed a few laps and I saw her arguing with Alister (Dos Santos), she kept belittling him and telling him how he was “weak” and his technique was “pathetic”. I ended up confronting her and she had for me too saying I am old and I should give place to someone else, and all that stuff… I couldn’t stand it anymore. So I decided to call Bobbo and Lisa to inform them. After trying my best to give Alister the strength to fight back. He is my teammate, and nobody talks to him or any member of MY team that way”.
During the race at the Hokkaido Speed Ring itself, Bobster Speed turned at the paddock while the first half of the race was still underway - he had a rather animated discussion with Cynthia Fitzgerald, representative of Neucom Inc., one of the main sponsors of Bobster Racing Systems as well as personal sponsor for Luka Ogami. Apparently there were some further accusations that were thrown, the most surprising one is of Luka Ogami sabotaging the team “by direct agreement” with her sponsors in order to trigger a hostile takeover to buys out the team, adding even more drama to an already heart stopping race, that culminated with the shocking accident of Ai Tsukishima and where the weight of the British Blues stood entirely on Alister Dos Santos’ shoulders, which brought home a more than respectable 8th place, keeping the team in the top 10 in the standings. Ogami has been dismissed for “gross conduct, subpar delivery and general lack of cooperation”, but there’s still more that will be disclosed by the team in the following days. As far as we know, in order to save face, Neucom is still the technical sponsor for Bobster Racing, but will limit just to the supply of technical support equipment until the end of the season, but nothing more. As we head for the Autopolis round, the British Blues seem to have found some serenity as they get ready, maybe thanks to the comeback of Reckless Bex herself: “Going back I would not repeat what I’ve done in London.” she told BCC Sports “I recognize how irresponsible it was and I already apologized to some of the direct parties involved. Especially after this whole mess, I understood how much I have hurt my team and how much they need me to be on top of my game. Today marks a 0 point for me, we start all over again innit? *giggle* We’ll make it better!”. When asked her opinion about the current “feud” between the Fujinami team and Tsuchigami no Kyojin, she replied: “I honestly don’t have one. I see myself first of all as a racing driver. And now more than ever I am of the opinion that the most important thing is my actions on the track. For me team. We’re not the subjects of anyone or ruling over anyone. And from now on, we drive first and talk later”.

Valeria Gallo to Substitute for Ai Tsukishima at Kamitsue GT 300 KM By: J.R. O'ConnellyAlthough currently affiliated with Valkyrie eSports, the Italian-born simracer and current Honda Grand Prix Dream academy driver Valeria Gallo has built herself a reputation of being a dependable "super substitute" freelancer in the real world of motorsports. This year alone, she was assigned to pilot for Westside Motorsports in the 2021 Daytona All-Night Endurance Trophy; despite finishing 14th in class, she was applauded for her ability to adapt to the track and conditions at an accelerated rate and match her co-drivers on overall lap pace. She was also assigned a pre-season test drive assignment with Mikado Technologies, where her steady lap times allowed her to contribute to the team's vehicle development on the run up to their 2021 campaign. However, if anything is well-documented about Valeria, it is her dream of driving for one of J-Speed's modern legends. Ever since her professional eSports debut in 2015 at the Tourer-1 Climax, she has always sported styles heavily inspired by Tsuchigami no Kyojin's designs past and present. Even now as a Valkyrie eSports competitor, her driver avatar on trueRacing and Racing Passion Online sports a helmet design very clearly inspired by Ai Tsukishima's purple with cherry blossom pattern. Prior to her call up to real world racing for Honda Grand Prix Dream in 2020, Gallo was earmarked for a transfer to Digi-House Tsuchigami, the official eSports team of Tsuchigami no Kyojin. "I really wanted to drive for the team I always idolized, but I knew racing in the real-world was the next step up. I had to put eSports aside", said Gallo. "But now, as a driver for the Tsuchigami team, I'm bestowed with the highest honor any Honda driver dreams of!" On the topic of Tsuchigami no Kyojin electing Valeria Gallo to drive as a substitute, co-driver Minami Tsukishima had this to say on the matter: "Val-chan was Ai and I's first pick among the Honda GPD candidates! She's cute, funny, and most importantly, a smart racer!"
