Rising Stars Shootout Categories: GT Endurance AM Region: North America Sometimes, the greatest summit you have to climb isn't the final battle for the world championship title, but the very first step you choose to take. Welcome to Racing Heart Universe, a play-by-post racing simulation where you step into the positions of a race engineer and a team principal. Tactics rule the day in the motorsport world of RHU; from engine modes, pit strategies, and tire compounds, the choices you make will make a huge impact on track. The Rising Stars Shootout is that first step for you; our classic GT racing format, but shrunken down to a one-day single race event. Take control of one of four AM teams, or bring your own from the Queen's Reign campaign. Note: If you can't make the live session, I'll be livestreaming it on Twitch. In that case, watch this thread for a quick tutorial on how to send setups and pit strategies ahead of time so you can still participate. Event Schedule: Friday, January 14th 11:59 PM US EST (GMT -5) Signups Closed Saturday, January 15th 3:00 PM US EST (GMT -5) Check-in, introduction and initial walk-through of game systems 3:30 PM US EST (GMT -5) Tuning Setup walkthrough and Quick Simulated Free Practice 4:15 PM US EST (GMT -5) Quick Simulated Qualifying Full Race (100 Miles, about 35 minutes) ~5 PM US EST (GMT -5) Results, debrief and cooldown Game Modules Basic Rules - Drivers and Strategies Only Special Rules SQUAD RULES ACTIVE Each team needs TWO Drivers per Car. ACCELERATED TIRE WEAR & FUEL USE Tires wear and fuel consumption 3 times more than they should. REDUCED FUEL CAPACITY To enforce minimum driver stint limitations like in real-life, your fuel capacity is greatly reduced. SMALL ENTRY LIST Including the four Game Master teams (one car each), the overall field for this event shall be limited to 12 cars. There is a maximum player limit of 10 players. Before Practice - Submit a Tuning Setup using the formatting below to my private/direct messages. How many total Tuning Points can be spent on each Tuning Setup you send is in your Team Sheet. For this Event, each Setup you make can have up to 10 points in total. `Aero Ducts: x / 10 Downforce: x / 10 Engine Map: x / 10 Suspension: x / 10`- Confirm with me which Tire Compound you want during Practice 1 and 2 Before Qualifying & Race - Notify me if you'll run your car's Engine Mode in Sprint or Super Sprint mode. Sprint Mode has no reliability penalty, while Super Sprint mode is more powerful (+6 HP) but has ~15% chance of causing your car to fail. - Tell me which Tire Compound you want me to use for the Race: Soft, Medium, or Hard. Because of game limitations, you'll be stuck with this compound for Qualifying, as well as any pit stops you plan. - Tell me which lap/s you want to pit in on. Use the Battle Data below to help you make the right calls. - Optional: If you want Tuning Setup changes, you can still change to a new setup The compact and winding Lime Rock Park was once a mainstay for the upper echelon for the International Motoring Authority of Sport, a sports car racing focused organizing body that has positioned itself with one of the top endurance racing championships in the world. Its short length made it traffic hell straight out of a stock car arcade racer - and the bane of many a driver in what's now known as the IMAS GT Championship. Not so for you, for you'll only have to deal with 11 other contenders. Layout preview: Onboard video: Battle Data General Number of Race laps: 40 laps Qualifying Duration: 25 minutes (Quick Simulation) In-Universe Race Time: 3 PM, November 21st, 2020 Track Type: Racing Circuit Strategies* SPOILER: Click to show Softs are basically worthless even with the short pit lane - the accelerated tire degradation will hurt like hell Try to one-stop as best you can, the low stats of non-Veterans makes things tricky Time Spent on Pit Lane You'll make it to Lap 28 before fuel stops you Expect to spend about 17-20 seconds on Pit Road Tire changes are ~8 seconds Filling to full fuel is about ~23 seconds So a full service stop + pit lane entry/exit time is ~20 + 8+23 seconds Tire Progression on Hards Soft tires are about ~0.35 seconds FASTER at first Medium tires are about ~0.2 seconds FASTER at first 0:47.9 ~ 0:48.5 -> initially 0:48.5 ~ 0:48.9 -> around 50% life 0:49.0 ~ 0:49.5 -> around 25% life 0:49.5 and worse -> 0% life remaining Minimum Driver Conservation Stat Basically, the tire life expectancy for drivers with a Conservation rating of 1 ... Tires drop below 50% life around lap 12-13 (~10 min) for Hards, lap 11 (~B min) for Mediums, and lap 7 (~5 min) for Softs Tires drop below 25% life around lap 18 (~15 min) for Hards, lap 16 (~13 min) for Mediums, and lap 10 (~8 min) for Softs Tires drop to 0% life around lap 24^! (~19 min) for Hards, lap 21-22^! (~17 min) for Mediums, and lap 13^! (~10 min) for Softs ^! Your driver will give up due to reaching 0% tire life on their tires Maximum Driver Conservation Stat The tire life expectancy for drivers with a Conservation rating of 20 ... Tires drop below 50% life around lap 15 (~13 min) for Hards, lap 13 (~10 min) for Mediums, and lap 8-9 (~6-7 min) for Softs Tires drop below 25% life around lap 22-23 (~19 min) for Hards, lap 20 (~16 min) for Mediums, and lap 13 (~11 min) for Softs Tires drop to 0% life around lap 30¹ (~26 min) for Hards, lap 27² (~22 min) for Mediums, and lap 16² (~14 min) for Softs ¹ You'll need to pit for fuel before reaching this point ² Your driver will give up due to reaching 0% tire life on their tires * Data was gathered using a 20 Speed, 20 Finesse driver - expect the actual times to be a bit slower
