This thread is for the J-Speed teams. Click here if you're looking for the IMAS GT thread.
After the end of each Event, players who are part of that League's Event may choose to upgrade their cars. Upgrades cost Support Points (SP), which can be spent to improve a number of car performance elements. These mechanics are covered in Pages 21-23 of the SRD, but are reposted here for convenient reference.
At the end of each Event, you may spend UP TO 60 SP. You will be tagged in the forum if it is your Team's turn to perform car upgrades.
For the Queen's Reign campaign, the following upgrades are available for Season 1:
Tuning Points
Cost: 20 SP per Tuning Point
Your team's knowledge of the car and its on-track behaviors, strengths and weaknesses are improved. With this knowledge in hand, your team's allowed Tuning Point total per Setup goes up by 1 TP.
Engine Enhance
Cost: 15 SP, ONCE ONLY per Engine
An Enhanced Engine has stronger internal components, improving its ability to withstand high loads over the race distance. Enhanced Engines gain +2 Total Durability Points and repair 3 Durability.
For example, an Engine with 6/10 Durability will now have 9/12 Durability. This Enhancement can be performed once on each Engine the Team has.
Efficiency Enhance
Cost: 10 SP, ONCE ONLY per Engine
Improvements to the engine’s ignition system (for ICE motors) or to the materials of the electric motor’s rotating parts (for electric motors) improves efficiency and therefore the additional mileage of a team’s car. Enhancing a motor’s efficiency reduces the fuel used by 6% when in NORMAL MODE.
Because of the drop-off in performance as stint duration increases aggressively, this upgrade is useless for actually increasing a car’s outright mileage: you actually use it to reduce the amount of time you spend in the pits.
Advanced Hybrid System
Cost: 20 SP, paid ONCE ONLY per Car
Advancements to hybrid deployment AI, motor materials, and motor management software allow for an electric hybrid drive system that has more tactical flexibility. This hybrid system has multiple modes that affect the engine/motor’s durability, power, and efficiency.
The Advanced Hybrid System has three modes: Max Mileage (fuel use reduced by 18%), Normal (no Durability Consumption), and Power Up (+14 nm/+2% of torque for GTE PROs). You must choose ONE mode before the start of Qualifying.
In System Reference Rev2 and onwards, if you have an Advanced Hybrid System, you may now choose which mode is active in Practice. You may choose ONE mode for each Practice Session. Your selection of Hybrid mode for Practice sessions does not affect Durability.
