DAYTONA ALL-NIGHT ENDURANCE TROPHY
Round 3 of the IMAS GT Championship
The summer of endurance begins with an arduous 200 laps around Daytona's high banks and tight infield hairpins. A mainstay of endurance racing since the 1970s, some of the greatest manufacturer rivalries ignited here in the Floridian arena of speed first. Though the back straight's chicane has taken numerous forms over the years, and the track itself has been upgraded to meet modern safety standards, Daytona has otherwise changed little from a driver's perspective. Its high banked oval section and long straights are naturally conducive to spectacular tit-for-tat slipstream battles, which makes for excellent spectator entertainment but often ignites brutal pit crew brawls when it goes wrong.
This race is particularly important for the GTE PRO teams as it's the first opportunity for them to punch out a ticket to next year's Endurance Trophy of La Sarthe, an invitation-only race held on the final weekend of June each year. Finishing in the top three here guarantees entry to the marquee endurance race to end all endurance races.
NPCs to watch:
Scuderia Pergusa's endgame goal of winning Le Mans starts here, and so they have brought to bear absolutely everything in their power to win this race. For this race only, they will be running Max Mileage Hybrid mode. They will also be running their upgraded car from this point onwards.
Smarting from their poor results so far this season, Northern Wolf CoreTech are looking to amp their game up. They'll be running SuperSprint engine mode for this race, which will make them extra fast but liable to perishing well before the race is over.
With Aprilia Ravenheart of DangoAlliance Racing frustrated with their seemingly perpetual Rookie rank status and with a significant promotion chance up for grabs here, their team will be using their mid-season upgrades for this and all remaining races on the calendar. For this race only, they'll be running Sprint engine mode, normally only reserved for GTE PRO NPC teams. This makes the Dangos a much more dangerous opponent than they usually are.

PRO Strategies*
Uh, RHU Endurance Watch Party anyone? No? *sighs* Fine...
Because of how many left turns there are here, tire wear is very high.
In theory fuel should last until Lap 48-49, but you'll be pitting for new tires well before then
Depending on your team's Conservation stat, expect to make 6 or 7 stops on Hards
If it's easier for you, just tell me "pit every X laps" in your setup/strategy DM thread
Time Spent on Pit Lane
Tire changes are ~8 seconds
Filling to full fuel is about ~28 seconds
A stop in pit lane will cost you around 19 seconds PLUS pit service time
A full service (tires + full fuel) stop costs you about 56 seconds
Tire Progression on Hards
Soft tires are about ~0.4 seconds FASTER at first
Medium tires are about ~0.2 seconds FASTER at first
1:34.5 ~ 1:35.2 -> initially
1:35.3 ~ 1:35.8 -> around 50% life
1:35.9 ~ 1:36.8 -> around 25% life
1:36.9 and worse -> 0% life remaining
Minimum Driver Conservation Stat
Tires drop below 50% life around lap 16-17 (~22-26 min) for Hards, lap 14-15 (~20-24 min) for Mediums, and lap 8-9 (10-14 min) for Softs
Tires drop below 25% life around lap 24-25 (~36-40 min) for Hards, lap 22-23 (~35-40 min) for Mediums, and lap 13-14 (~18-21 min) for Softs
Tires drop to 0% life around lap 32-33 (~48-52 min)1 for Hards, lap 28-29 (~42-46 min)1 for Mediums, and lap 17-18 (~22-27 min)1 for Softs
Maximum Driver Conservation Stat
Tires drop below 50% life around lap 20-21 (~29-33 min) for Hards, lap 19-20 (~27-31 min) for Mediums, and lap 11-12 (~14-19 min) for Softs
Tires drop below 25% life around lap 31-32 (~47-51 min) for Hards, lap 28-29 (~42-46 min)1 for Mediums, and lap 17-18 (~24-28 min)1 for Softs

* Data was gathered using a 20 Speed, 20 Finesse driver - expect the actual times to be a bit slower
Notes:
1 Driver will pit in for tire wear at this point
2 Driver must pit in for refueling before this point
