Once upon a time, the World GT Championship was the premier league for modified grand touring cars across all of Europe, which hit its peak in the late 1990s. But rapidly rising costs lead to World GT eventually downscaling from being a globetrotting affair to a predominantly European tour. With the shift of semi-pro and pro-am GT racing moving from highly modified common sports cars like Corvettes and lower-end Porsches to more premium manufacturer-built and supported flagship racing models such as the McLaren 720S GTC and Ferrari 488 GTC, the GT Challenger category (what we know as GT Endurance AM) experienced a resurgence in popularity in the 2010s. The rise of GT Challenger as a common ruleset has allowed the European Union of Racing Organizers (EURO) to unify many of the top national GT championships into a unique promotion-relegation system that promotes top teams and demotes bottom performers. As a result, battles up and down the grid are hotly contested as teams battle for survival and relevance.
The Chasing Phantoms campaign focuses on the 2022 Aeternam GT EuroSeries and EuroCup seasons, where generational talent Hisui Motegi has dominated the top EuroSeries for the fourth year in a row and is looking to set a record five championship titles to their name. Because the EuroSeries serves as a major stepping stone to premier Grand Prix and Endurance championships for upcoming superstars, Hisui's utter stranglehold on the league has stifled the careers of beloved veterans and budding prodigies alike. There's a reason why they call Hisui "Phantom of the Blue" - one glimpse at their driving ability, and you'll be left wondering about the secrets to their speed and tenacity.
Be warned - while the value of your OCs shouldn't be in their on-track performances, you should come into this campaign with the expectation that getting demoted to the lower league for next season is a very real possibility.

Promotion-Relegation Progression System
AES, AEC, and EURO’s national GTE AM leagues below them are part of a complex promotion and relegation ladder system, but for brevity only AES and AEC will be explained here.
The main focus of the Chasing Phantoms campaign is placed on the Team’s Championship; unlike in the IMAS GT Championship or the J-Speed GT Masters, points are scored from both cars in the case of a two-car team. This places a greater emphasis on consistency from the team as a whole.

Top 3 teams invited to next season’s Sportscar GP of France
Bottom 3 teams in team standings relegated to EuroCup
Aeternam EuroCup:
