About
Established in the winter of 2000 during the Exodus era, established entrepreneur Gilles Breyne would act on a dream that had evaded him throughout his youth and set the ground work that would later become the respected Breyne Racing Team that has been a constant entrant among many European sports car series throughout the continent. The team first operated out of a former shoe factory repurposed into a warehouse, purchasing a second-hand Lotus Motorsport Elise to compete in Belgian national endurance races. Gilles Breyne would not only drive the car and call the shots as head principal and crew chief, but would also attempt to handle the engineering side as he attempted to evolve the car with multiple aero and engine upgrades in the pursuit of victory. Whether or not these efforts were successful didn't matter too much overall, as he would become one of the most respected team owners in the paddock with his courteous driving and generous behavior towards not only fellow competitors but also curious fans, whom were flocking to smaller events after the recent collapse of the world series.
Currently the team has a rather sizable workshop in Malmedy, not only housing their multitude of racing programs from GTC machines to Touring Cars, but also helping supply other budding teams to give them the kick start they need to get racing around the EURO ladder system. Whilst the team looks like a well-oiled machine from the inside, a difference of opinion is beginning to brew inside of the team that could change their image forever in the motorsports landscape. Unfortunately, Gilles Breyne passed away from health complications in 2018, handing over control to his sons Alain and Arnold. While Alain wishes to see the team continue to support other outfits and further support the sports car racing landscape not only in Belgium but across Europe, Arnold believes that the support that the team has given has been holding its capability back, and wants to transition to a discipline where the single driver and team take all the glory -- namely open wheel racing. The two have made concessions to one another among the past handful of years, but as tensions grew larger the team's performance has begun to slump and their once friendly reputation has become uptight and lackluster. The brothers have realized that one cannot operate without the other as well -- Alain cannot possibly handle the financial side, while Arnold is clueless about engineering and development in general.
Since 2015, Breyne Racing Team has rebranded to La Source BRT and established a partnership with Mercedez-Benz AMG, racing the AMG GT3 in the EuroSeries. 2021 was a close call for relegation, as a number of personnel have arrived and left throughout the season leaving the team with inconsistent results. Alain and Arnold have perhaps finally begun to work together for once and etched out a game plan, hiring not only a promising driver through a scholarship program, but also some of the most experienced mechanics and strategists in Belgium. Whether or not this ceasefire will last until the end of the season remains to be seen.

Brought up through one of the most prestigious technical schools in the country, Alain was always destined to become a great engineer. He was involved in a number of sports car and open wheel projects in his career but his favorite was leading his own father's team to a Le Mans class win. Now tasked with running the team he often leaves finances and sponsorship to his brother Arnold while he oversees every aspect of the engineering side.

A former racing driver, Arnold had a knack for attracting sponsors and keeping his own funding steady throughout his relatively short-lived career. Partnering with his father during the team's early days he then retired due to lack of interest in staying in sports cars. He still believes that karting is the most pure form of racing, and wishes to drive the team to the glory it deserves by transforming into an open wheel outfit. Despite being a rather capable driver, he struggles to understand the mechanical aspects of a car.
