2022 Entry List Update (Part 1)
Suzuki Nishiki-Nomiya Hoshinova exiting the sport last season really sucked the life out of many fans throughout the world, but that's only made for a massive gap for any potential new teams looking to finally get a piece of MOTO-1 action! Whilst we await the new entrants to show themselves soon, here's what we know from the current crop of teams and their riders for 2022!
Mikado Team BAKUON
Riders: Mia Nyambura, Ricardo del Toro
Nothing new on this side, aside from a few sponsor changes. The Honda bikes will be sporting new decals from new technical partner Neucom, while long time partner Viscoso will be staying on the bike for what will be nearly 30 years of constant support. We'll see if Mikado can turn around Honda's luck as the team has struggled to put up any results in 2021 due to their insanely hard to handle GP bike!
Yamaha Team Impact
Riders: Jeane Mistral, Isaree Sanya
Also nothing too notable here. Jeane's wife Lisa being the champion of the World of Superbikes in 2021, she might be energized to do the same. Isaree hasn't been all that's cracked up to be however, and we might have the first married couple riding together next season if she doesn't turn around her performance quick.
IGNITION KTM Factory Racing
Riders: Pai Hsiao-yang, Andrea Mayr
Last season's champion Andrea Mayr found themselves with no place to call home immediately after last season -- though KTM looked to change that. Nikita Antonovna's contract year came and went, and it looks like he'll be going to the MOTO-2 paddock again to try and develop his skills for a bit longer. It's an Austrian homecoming for Andrea, as they will find themselves very familiar in their own country -- will it translate to another title in 2022? Who really knows? Well, maybe a time traveler... don't spoil it for us, though!
Giddo Spario Ducati Corse
Riders: Max Savage, Jean-Eric Guy
Speaking about contract years, what about everyone's favorite Krazy Kiwi Max Savage? He's been up to his usual antics last season for sure, but after attempting to jump his Desmosedici GP off of the stunt ramps off track at Indianapolis it seems like management is tired of the constant cash they have to spend to keep up with such a weird talent. While it would be quite a hit to their marketability, they're sure that KTM have made a mistake in letting go of Antonovna and might have him in their grasps for 2023... now that is crazy!
