Stars and Racing Stripes - 2022 IMAS StormSystems GT Championship Campaign
featuring the StormSystems IMAS GT Championship
Categories: GT Endurance PRO (GT Suzuka), GT Endurance AM (GT Daytona)
Region: Americas
Campaign Background:
{Spoiler}The North American sports car world saw an upset triumph last season as PWRBand Technica took the title by the skin of their teeth at Sebring. Former soccer star Nina Bridgehampton managed to play the perfect formation and successfully managed a closely knit outfit consisting of only women, from the drivers to the mechanics on down. Now with the attention of major marques looking to support her venture, the team decided to turn coat head to Bavaria for their racing machinery. Boasting full factory support from BMW, PWRBand are looking to become the next superpower in IMAS as Aleph Racing Developments along with TRD look to take back what they believe is rightfully theirs.
A rather disappointing display last season from Scarlet Devil Raceworks has them working overtime throughout the winter, and as a result their recent developments on their McLaren 720S are far beyond what the grid has seen before. Brand new Dashboard Control Units that contain state of the art algorithms are the talk of the paddock throughout winter testing; lap times around both Sebring and Daytona are potentially course records for GT Suzuka as McLaren go all in for their American venture. After multiple years of falling short, the Woking brand working alongside one of the largest conglomerates in the world could prove to be the most dangerous combination on the grid. It's all up to world class drivers Patricia Wisdome and Sebastien Labelle to get the work done on track.
A new era of racing driver could emerge as well, thanks in part to last year's Drivers' Co-champion Risa Aoyama. The overnight celebrity has lofty expectations to live up to in the upcoming season, and with more of her past beginning to be revealed motorsports journalists are beginning to question whether or not if she even belongs in a professional setting in the first place. Traditionalists are at best skeptical of Risa's roots as more comes out about her past in interviews. Drivers with street racing backgrounds have never been able to make the big time, and many of the top teams in North America will turn away potential talent if they are involved even in the least risky ventures of touge racing. However, with the Los Angeles native now one of the faces of sports car racing in the USA, many are considering looking to the quiet switchback roads to find their new rising star. Despite her well-mannered attitude, a few members of the paddock have begun to feign animosity to this lucky schmuck of a driver who had only gotten behind the wheel after high school. Even with a title now in her CV, many are expecting her to further prove why she belongs in the paddock.
J-Racing Adventures in GT Daytona are a fan favorite and it’s no secret as to why. Their old-school approach are a big hit to the older generations, while their shenanigans off the racing circuit have brought a younger generation to their fan club. Will the power of friendship keep them on the top step of the podium however? Many GT Daytona teams don’t think so as IMAS promises a new balance parameter to keep the American Horse from galloping away. As more big name European teams begin to take notice of the series, it's going to be tough for this rambunctious bunch to defend their title, especially with Modellista ViperConcepts looking to bite them in the tail. Even within the more amateur ranks of the grid the competition is just as fierce as the GT Daytona class promises to bring the closest racing of the group.
It's time for everyone to earn their Stars and Racing Stripes.

Campaign Summary:
The Stars and Racing Stripes campaign is the second edition of the popular IMAS GT Championship season, based off of the real life IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship that tours North America.
Endurance is the name of the game, with four rounds promising to push the limits of person and machine. Daytona and Sebring are the big ticket races, with every team looking to write their names in the history books. Along with an automatic invite for the winners in each class to Le Mans as well as the Tohno Tires Endurance Cup trophy up for grabs, teams from around the world will use this opportunity to sneak into the endurance classic.
This campaign is powered by the Core System Second Edition ruleset with the Enhanced Dashboard Control Units (DCUs) taking the forefront for technology.
