After the end of each Event, players who are part of that League's Event may choose to upgrade their cars. Upgrades cost Support Points (SP), which can be spent to improve a number of car performance elements. These mechanics are covered in Pages 30-31 of the SRD, but are reposted here for convenient reference.
At the end of each Event, you may spend UP TO 40 SP. You will be tagged in the forum if it is your Team's turn to perform car upgrades.
For the Stars and Racing Stripes campaign, the following upgrades are available:
Tuning Points
Cost: 20 SP per Tuning Point
Your team's knowledge of the car and its on-track behaviors, strengths and weaknesses are improved. With this knowledge in hand, your team's allowed Tuning Point total per Setup goes up by 1 TP.
Aero Package Upgrade
Cost: 20 SP, per each stage (up to Level 2)
Stages: Stage 1, Stage 2
With a wider variety of aerodynamic parts, like brake and cooling ducts, rear wing flaps, and front bumper dive planes (canards), the team can now better configure their car’s bodywork for the track.
The higher the Stage, the greater the range of TPs can be put into either Aero Ducts or Downforce.
Stage 1: 0-7 TP
Stage 2: 0-10 TP
Chassis Upgrade
Cost: 20 SP, per each stage (up to Level 2)
Stages: Stage 1, Stage 2
Improving the tuning potential of the chassis can be achieved by having better suspension and drivetrain components as well as additional interchangeable parts being made readily available to the team. This allows for the team to potentially extract more performance from the car’s mechanical bits.
The higher the Chassis Upgrade stage, the larger the range of TPs can be put into either Driveline or Suspension.
Stage 1: 0-7 TP
Stage 2: 0-10 TP
Practice Focus Points
Cost: 20 SP, per 1 focus point (max of +4 per car)
The team has found a way to improve their car data logging (telemetry) capabilities in some way, allowing them to find more ways to better strategize on Race Day. This could be for a variety of reasons; more experienced staff, better equipment, drivers being more capable of communicating feedback to their engineers, but either way, they’re more prepared.
By increasing the number of Practice Focus Points you can spend per Event, the team can focus either into more Practice Programs or improving upon ones they favor with more Levels.
Enhanced Dashboard Control Unit (DCU)
Cost: 40 SP, for each squad, once only per car
Dashboard Control Units are more than just fancy-looking data displays; they control numerous systems within the GT cars of the RH Universe, from traction control to active suspension damping. Enhanced versions of the DCUs enable the addition of an AI companion module that automates many of the user-assigned functions, improving focus on a particular element of Tuning.
Enhanced DCUs enable a wide variety of Tuning Setup bonuses via DCU Settings, but only ONE may be selected per Session.
