Summary:
Qiuzhou Lam's family comes from an ancient line of wealthy merchants, who continue their tradition of goods trading today, now on a worldwide scale. However, during Qiuzhou's childhood, he and his parents would move away from their native China to start over in the United States. His parents dreamed of becoming tuners, but due to how overly strict their home country was to car modifications, it was decided that they would move out to chase their dreams. It was a small dream, but as they gained a reputation for putting skilled craftsmanship above all else in their new shop in California, Lam's Auto Works built a small but dedicated fan base. Lam's Auto Works was a maintenance shop somewhat like others, but its true specialty was in fabricating anything the custom parts their customers would request for. It didn't matter too much how ridiculous their customer's wishes were; if someone wanted to have neon lights under their Lamborghini's frame, they'd have it.
Qiuzhou loved every single one of the monstrosities that would roll out of that shop. It would be his dream if he could have a ride he could call his own. But then the shop were accused of just building sculptures with motors; Qiuzhou's parents needed him to prove both the family and the shop's worth outside of being artists. On top of that, he had very few friends at school, most citing his somewhat feminine appearance as a suggestion that he was a weak person. Taking up the helmet to race in various amateur Touring Car and Time Attack competitions in the state during 2014, Qiuzhou set several class lap records and a number of high-placing upsets despite it being his first season. He began testing for an American Formula C seat in 2015, with good results, but Qiuzhou felt sports cars were more his thing.
Even with his inner shyness, Qiuzhou clearly refuses to let that be his defining character. Ever since he broke out into road racing, he now has an avenue where his talents speak for himself. Joining a team in the GRL is a stepping stone he's very intent on taking.
Roleplaying Notes:
- Terse. Talks in short phrases. Like this. Says he picked it up from Finnish race car drivers.
- Prefers to let his skills do talking. Applies to anything he does.
- Can speak and write perfectly fine English if needed. Prefers not to when possible.
- Often wonders about what his rivals must be like. Sometimes out loud.
