Have you not submitted upgrades or repairs yet from the Sunset Bend GT Grand Prix post-race Phase?
It's OK! With the OOC chaos happening in my life right now, I'll give everyone a bit of extra time to submit post-race decisions. You have until the Tuning Setup submission deadline for Free Practice, which is June 1st, 2 AM GMT!
Race Day is almost here! So before we get racing, we'll give you the low down on what we need from you throughout a race phase.
Before Practice
- Submit AT LEAST one Tuning Setup using the formatting below to my private/direct messages. How many total Tuning Points can be spent on each Tuning Setup you send is in your Team Sheet.
Before Qualifying & Race
- Notify me if you'll run your car's Engine Mode in Normal, Sprint, or Super Sprint mode. Each successive mode gives +6 HP but -1 DP
- Tell me which Tire Compound you want me to use for the Race
- Optional: If you want Tuning Setup changes, you can still change to a new setup
After Race
Remember that you can spend a maximum of 60 SP (Support Points) after every race!
- Have you failed to finish the race? If so and it resulted in car damage, you need to tell me how many DP to fix and if it's a Standard Fix (15 SP per DP) or Quick Fix (5 SP per DP).
- Optional: If you want more Tuning Points or Car Upgrades and have SP to spare for the Phase, post in this thread.
Detroit Belle Isle is a unique breed of street circuit - set in the perimeter of a small island in the heart of the titular Motor City, this technical network of tight, square right-angle corners is connected by a series of mostly brief and short straights. Central Ave is the straight that runs up to Turn 3, a pointy 90 degree right-hander with a large braking zone, and probably the only real place to setup an overtake. As a result, tire compound advantage and pit stop strategy are the most likely avenues for advancing track position. Qualifying is of utmost importance here, as the possibility of getting stuck in a train of slower cars is very real. Good setups and tire choices are critical to maximizing the points scored here.

Maximum stint length before refueling is 70 laps
Tire wear has a slightly more obvious effect than at Sebring
Tire life and fuel use wise, you have plenty for one stop, but a two-stop to dodge traffic might be a thing? IDK
Time Spent on Pit Lane
Expect to spend about 23-26 seconds on Pit Road
Tire changes are ~14 seconds
Filling to full fuel is about ~16 seconds
So a full service stop + pit lane entry/exit time is ~26 + 14+16 seconds
Tire Progression on Mediums/Hards
Soft tires are about ~0.7 seconds FASTER at first
Medium tires are about ~0.4 seconds FASTER at first
1:24.1 ~ 1:24.8 -> initially
1:24.7 ~ 1:25.5 -> around 50% life
1:25.6 ~ 1:27.1 -> around 25% life
1:27.2 and worse -> 0% life remaining
Minimum Driver Conservation Stat
Tires drop below 50% life around lap 31-32 for Hards, lap 27-28 for Mediums, and lap 15-16 for Softs
Tires drop below 25% life around lap 45 for Hards, lap 40-41 for Mediums, and lap 22-23 for Softs
Tires drop to 0% life around lap 61-62 for Hards, lap 54-55 for Mediums, and lap 30-31 for Softs

Do you like sitting on pole only to lose it all only 10 laps into the action? Go with the Softs, otherwise do the correct thing and go with Hards
