Racing Heart Live! GT Master League Categories: GT Endurance PRO main with GT Endurance AM secondary Region: Euro-Pacific When the GT Racing Exodus of 1999 tore the world of sports car racing asunder, the once prestigious World GT Championship was scaled down severely and split into two series which were known as the GT Superleague and GT Euroseries. While these two series found huge success especially in the turn of the 2010s, this wasn't seen as enough by teams craving the drama and action that only multi-class sprint-endurance racing could offer. Striking a deal with a number of top-level motorsport venues, the GT Master League is an international-level League that aims to make its mark on the world scene with upcoming hotshots and elite racers seeking new challenges. The storyline hot off the press is a fiery grudge match going down between two powerhouses of the GT racing world: the Italian juggernaut squad of Empress Autosport, and the rising stars of the Princess Revolution. Noble blood burns hot in this showdown, but will either of these two teams be worthy of the throne, or will a third party usurper steal the title from underneath their splitters? Only time will tell. Race Day is almost here! So before we get racing, we'll give you the low down on what we need from you throughout a race phase. Before Practice- Submit a Tuning Setup using the formatting below to my private/direct messages. How many total Tuning Points can be spent on each Tuning Setup you send is in your Team Sheet. Aero Ducts: x / 10 Downforce: x / 10 Engine Map: x / 10 Suspension: x / 10 - Confirm with me which Tire Compound you want during Practice 1 and 2 Before Qualifying & Race- Notify me if you'll run your car's Engine Mode in Normal, Sprint, or Super Sprint mode. Each successive mode gives +6 HP but -1 DP - Tell me which Tire Compound you want me to use for the Race - Optional: If you want Tuning Setup changes, you can still change to a new setup After RaceRemember that you can spend a maximum of 60 SP (Support Points) after every race!- Have you failed to finish the race? If so and it resulted in car damage, you need to tell me how many DP to fix and if it's a Standard Fix (15 SP per DP) or Quick Fix (5 SP per DP). - Optional: If you want more Tuning Points or Car Upgrades and have SP to spare for the Phase, post in this thread.
Sunset Bend GT Grand Prix Round 1 of the GT Master League Set on a former military airfield, Sebring International Raceway is a highly technical circuit with long straights punctuated by sharp, technical corner complexes that demand accurate car control from the drivers. Sunset Bend is the final corner of this track, characterized by its intense transition between regular roads and the extremely bumpy and aged airfield section. Maintaining momentum from the previous straight onto Sunset Bend will either make or break a lap here - a good run will help setup a fast lap and possibly even an overtake into turn 1 if the opportunity arises. Overtaking will prove to be tricky as only the psychotic will try to race side-by-side for a prolonged basis here - meaning a good setup and qualifying position are critical if teams want to start their Master League campaign on the right foot. Another New Beginning, Part 1Google Docs link for easier reading: docs.google.com/document/d/1jPskn55UqbRisFWITsxbzNrhAxBteXDNpOyaiIIuMDc/edit?usp=sharing Project Vermillion HQ, JapanAkiha Nakai was not having a good day. Two mountains of paperwork sat on her desk: invoices, contracts, and all sorts of other unpleasant forms just waiting to terrorize her. She stared glumly at the enormous pile marked ‘To do’ and then at the much, much smaller pile marked ‘Complete’ and slammed her head down on her desk in frustration. She knew it was her own fault for putting everything off until the last minute, but she could have sworn she’d made more progress than this yesterday… “Hey, uh, Akiha?” A voice echoed in through her office door. “Can you come out to the shop floor for a sec?” “Damn it, can’t you last 5 minutes without interrupting me!?” Akiha snarled back, giving the owner of the voice the full brunt of her wrath. Sadly for Akiha her outburst failed to have the desired effect, and Aaron Van der Linden poked his head through the door with a cheeky grin on his face. “My apologies for disturbing your terribly important work, but I really think you should take a look at this.” “This had better be good.” Akiha grumbled as she followed him out of the office. “Well, what am I supposed to be looking at?” Aaron shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. “Well, I was underneath the Maserati getting ready to replace the transmission and nothing was making any sense. I’ve not spent too much time under the car but I know my way around it alright, ya know? So I rolled out from underneath and well… see for yourself.” He gestured out to the center of the shop floor. It didn’t take long for Akiha to find the anomaly. The team’s raceworn MC GTE should have been the center of attention, in process of a much deserved rebuild after it’s Sundown 6 hours triumph. Instead in its place sat an immaculately prepared McLaren 720s, looking as though it had just arrived fresh from Woking. Akiha took a sharp intake of breath. She begrudgingly had to admit that Aaron was right, this was probably more important than the paperwork. “I see. This is a new worldline.” “Indeed. It seems we got so tired of McLarens running into us that we gave up and joined them. Looks like you finally landed us that booze sponsor, too.” “Perfect timing, I could go for a drink or two right about now…” A dull pulsing had started behind Akiha’s eyes as she held a hand to her forehead. “Any other noticeable changes?” Aaron frowned. “I came to find you as soon as possible, but just going by our headquarters it seems to be dramatically different than the last worldline.” “Hmmm.” Akiha’s gaze drifted across the garage. “Actually, this doesn’t look too bad. The place is much cleaner than usual, the equipment looks brand new and state of the art, and the car seems to have a full suite of sponsors. It looks like we’ve got quite a professional outfit this time.” Aaron shook his head. “I thought so at first as well, but take a closer look. The mechanics are just making busywork, I haven’t seen one touch the car yet. There’s no CAD documents on the computers, the machines look like they’ve never been used, and I’ve yet to find a part that doesn’t look straight from the factory.” Akiha’s brow narrowed. “Are you saying…” Aaron nodded back to her, a grave look on his face. “Yep. I don’t know what the hell it is, but this certainly isn’t our team.” “No. No it isn’t.” Akiha paused thoughtfully. “Not yet at least. Gather the crew, I think it’s time I had a word with them.”
Akiha stood upon a crate in front of the assembled crew, arms clasped behind her back. From his viewpoint on her right Aaron could see that they were slightly confused as to why their team boss had called this meeting, and he felt guilty to admit that he was quite looking forward to their reactions. This was certainly going to be a day that they wouldn’t soon forget. Akiha cleared her throat. “Hello, my name is Akiha Nakai, and I am the owner of this team. You may refer to me as Nakai-san. She bowed her head. “But you already knew that of course, so consider this a one-sided introduction if you will. And why am I reintroducing myself, I hear you ask?” Akiha allowed herself a slight smile. “Because today marks a new beginning for this team.” The smile disappeared, replaced with a disapproving stare. “Would you like to know what Project Vermillion means to me?” She hopped down from her crate and began to pace back and forth in front of the crew. “Once, not so long ago, I had a dream. A dream of building the greatest street racing machine Japan had ever seen.” Akiha paused. She noted with some satisfaction that the crew appeared to be hanging on her every word. “And in creating my magnum opus, Project Vermillion, I succeeded. But before I could take it to competition my shop suffered a fire and burned down, and my dream died with it. Despite my best efforts I was never able to replicate that perfect formula, and I grew disillusioned and moved on with my life.” She paused and glanced at Aaron. “My journey led me into the world of professional motorsport, which helped me realize that I had not lost my fire, I simply needed a new project to direct it towards. Rather than a street racing machine, a race team. Rather than Japan, the world. And so, as a Phoenix from the ashes, Project Vermillion would rise again.” Stepping back up on the crate, Akiha once again clasped her arms behind her back. “My vision is a team that relentlessly innovates, a team that pushes the boundaries and beyond, a team that will become the greatest in the world or burn down in flames trying.” She crossed her arms and raised her chin to look down her nose at the assembled crewmembers. “I must be in the wrong place, because I see none of that here.” Akiha was in a groove now. She pointed at a newspaper article proudly framed on the wall: ' Popular backmarkers Project Vermillion finally break through for first top 10 finish'. “Is this what we celebrate here? A top 10 finish?” She ripped the article off the wall and ground it beneath the heel of her boot, to the horror of the assembled crew. “Hmph. Popular backmarkers is just another way to say hopeless losers. You’re content to run around at the back of the field in a bone stock car and you call yourselves a racing team? Have you no ambition?” Her lips curled into a snarl. “Have you no pride?” She turned to Aaron. “Whip these deadbeats into shape or get them out of my sight, I don’t care which. Freight leaves for Sebring in 2 weeks and I’ll be damned if we’re going to show up and embarrass ourselves.” “What about a driver?” “Leave that to me, you’re going to have your hands full with this lot.” Akiha stormed into her office and slammed the door shut. “Oh sure boss, I’ll just work a miracle or two, no problem...” Aaron frowned at the closed door as he muttered under his breath. Sighing, he crossed his arms and turned to the shell-shocked crew. “Right, you heard the boss. I’ve got 2 weeks to drill you into a well oiled machine, and I don’t intend to waste a moment of it. You might think I’m putting you through hell but I promise you it’ll be nothing compared to the boss’s wrath if you make fools of us come race day.” He smacked his fist into his palm. “Right, let’s get to work.” Project Vermillion's previous exploits can be founds here: docs.google.com/document/d/1SnctIP0oHdGe1ZapEwOvDRPzF8A0ot4M56W8hTBEqXQ/edit?usp=sharingLivery: drive.google.com/file/d/1pUTZXKQbJDaWIDfWc44t6F7U3Nobj3IC/view?usp=sharing

Another New Beginning, Part 2
2 weeks later…
The garage was a hive of activity as the team rushed to pack and prepare to get the freight ready to ship to Sebring. Akiha and Aaron surveyed the chaos with not a small amount of pride, the team had come a long way in just a couple short weeks.
“They almost look like a real race team now.” Akiha begrudgingly admitted.
“They’ve made excellent progress if I do say so myself.” Aaron responded with a playful grin. “Pit stop times have been halved, we’ve drilled quick changes on bodywork…” They paused as a pair of mechanics moved past pushing a toolbox. “There was no way I was going to fix the engineering side in 2 weeks, so I gave a call to a few names you might recognize from back home. Heading our new design group will be Ginette Martel, our lead aerodynamicist will be Markus Björnsson, and our former colleague Claudia van Daalen will lead the engine team.”
Akiha raised an eyebrow. “I’m impressed, you’ve done good work.”
“Why thank you.” Aaron grinned. “So, how goes the driver search?”
Akiha gestured to her office. “Take a seat, I’ll fill you in.” She sat comfortably at her desk, and Aaron took a chair across from her and signalled for her to begin.
Akiha leaned forwards and clasped her hands together. “If I’m honest, choosing a driver wasn’t particularly difficult. Tohru has been excellent for us across all worldlines, she was the obvious choice.”
“Can’t argue there, she’s a team mainstay at this point. So she’ll be joining us at Sebring then?”
Akiha sighed heavily. “I’m afraid she won’t.” She paused for a moment and looked Aaron in the eyes. “I don’t know how to put this Aaron, but I don’t think Tohru exists in this worldline.”
“Oh. She didn’t exist in ours so I suppose it was only a matter of time, huh?” He gave a mirthless laugh. “I guess that throws a bit of a wrench in your plans.”
“You took that news well.” Akiha blinked in surprise. “This struck me as a significant change from the past few worldlines, so out of curiosity I looked up some of our competitors from the Sundown 6 hours.” She frowned. “It isn’t just Tohru. I found traces of a few of them, but it seems that none of them are racing drivers in this worldline.”
Aaron shrugged. “Not all that surprising really, given all the changes we’ve found so far.
“I suppose not.” Akiha absentmindedly admired her fingernails. “Speaking of which, have you ever wondered why the team was so different this time?”
“Of course I have, but why the sudden change of subject?”
“I was wondering myself, so I took the liberty of doing some investigating.” Akiha paused and reached down to open a drawer of her desk, pulling out a bottle and a pair of crystal drinking glasses. “Champagne?”
“Really Akiha, at 10am? What’s gotten into you today?”
Akiha poured herself a generous glass and lounged theatrically in her chair. “Well my dear Aaron, the results of my investigation were truly remarkable.” She downed the glass, placed it daintily on the table, and leaned forward. “It turns out that the Akiha Nakai of this worldline is terribly, fabulously rich.” She leaned back and sighed heavily. “Unfortunately it seems she was also terribly, fabulously unambitious, as the state of this team poignantly demonstrates.”
“That… explains a lot, actually.” Aaron tilted his head slightly. “What does this have to do with our new driver though?”
“Relax, I’m getting there.” Akiha replied with a scowl. “The funds at my disposal meant that even a World Grand Prix driver wouldn’t have been out of reach, but no matter how many drivers I interviewed, none of them felt… right.” She paused for a moment. “But in my search I came across a few who piqued my interest. Reliant Spark, Sister Tenrai, and Satomi Houraisan, artificial Intelligences in physical bodies. And they got me thinking: I’m filthy rich now, so why should I settle for a driver that doesn’t fit my needs? Tohru may not exist in this worldline, but with the power of Artificial Intelligence I could recreate her.” Akiha’s eyes lit up with a burning passion. “And not just recreate her, improve her! Take all of her best qualities and crank them up to 11! Tohru, at her peak form.” Akiha stood up from her desk and walked over to a sheet covering something in the corner of the room. “I reached out to Hourai Automation and it turns out that our interests aligned. I was in the market for an AI, and they just happened to be working on a new AI program that they needed a client to field test. And so, may I introduce…” Akiha whipped away the sheet with a theatrical flourish. “Mecha Tohru Mk.1!”
Aaron’s jaw dropped open. Standing in front of him was, at first glance, Tohru Kobayashi. In fact if the maid outfit hadn’t exposed her robotic elbow and neck joints she could have very easily passed as human.
Akiha grinned at him with her arm around Mecha Tohru Mk.1. “Her programming isn’t quite complete yet but I had her body brought to the shop so we could do a seat fitting. So, what do you think?”
“You never cease to find new ways to surprise me.” Aaron shook his head in disbelief. “It, or uh, she? Certainly looks like Tohru, but can an AI really drive like Tohru?”
“She damn well better for how much she’s costing me.” Akiha muttered under her breath.
“A green crew, an untested AI driver, and a bone stock car, this should be fun.” Aaron laughed. “You’re taking some big risks here, even for you.”
“I work with what I’m given.” Akiha shrugged. “Now we’ll just have to wait and see if it’s enough.” She cracked her knuckles. “Sebring, here we come.”

Inside the PR Team Álvarez Garage:
"And that should be it! We're all ready to ship off to Florida tomorrow."
Ricky Álvarez exclaims while shutting the hood of his Corvette. A slight snapping noise is heard from the hinges as it falls into place.
"Eh, we'll fix it when we get to the track"
Ricky's sister Carmen rolls her eyes at his nonchalant attitude, sitting by their shop computer.
"I still can't believe you're going through with this hairbrained scheme, and I definitely can't believe I somehow agreed to tag along with you to help manage your crazy world tour" her voice raising in annoyance whenever she feels like she needs some extra effect.
"Nothin' hairbrained about it" Ricky assures, "We've got a legal car, we've got a mode of transport, and I've already set as side spare parts for if anything goes wrong. I've thought of absolutely everything!"
Carmen stands up and walks towards their Corvette, gesturing at it.
"First thing, is this car even legal? I've been here the entire time while you've been putting this thing together with your buddies, you literally looked up old forum leaks on the C7 JSR, shipped in a wrecked street C7 from the U.S., and just copied what you saw there with whatever parts you sourced online, and then just made up your own crap whenever you couldn't do that."
Carmen throws open the door, another snapping noise coming from the door as it opens.
"You literally threw in some tubes, which frankly I'm not even sure if that's allowed, but you just went 'The unibody is still there, it's semi-tube frame at worst'. And then with those leaks you found, they weren't even for the same season, so the actual "JSR" bits are from like 5 different years. And your spares? Those are just road car parts you bought from some forums! And when I asked where the hell you got a hybrid system from you just said 'I knew somebody', which is also somehow the same answer I got when asking how we were even get from point A to point B!" her ranting only seemingly getting warmed up.
Carmen's ranting is obviously not hitting Ricky, as he just replies "It's fine I've read the rules front and back, we're clearly within the them, I have all my technicalities ready for when they try and reject it!"
Carmen's face turns to a strange mix of anger and absolute confusion after hearing this.
"Wait, you actually know the cars won't pass and already have a plan to BS your way out of it?"
"Exactly!"

During Free Practice 2
After a great first session, the team would be buzzing, getting the car looked after and checked for the second the crew would be in place! The softs fitted, a delighted Rikka would give a thumbs up from her position in the pit box.
"Kaaay~! Radio check, radio check~! Ciao ciao~! We'll be going all out this session, so don't leave anything out there! Let's get some good quali' sims out!"
She was buzzing, with Marina who was in charge of the engineer role right beside her.
"I think I got it right on point this time! We'll see the sheer pace of our car once she--"
Then, the sound of crunching carbon fibre was heard behind them. The two would slowly, steadily turn their heads… and there was that #40 car, crashed into that pillar with the humanoid driver right behind the car. Chiara could be heard yelling in colorful language over the radio, as the two girls would simply stare in dismay.
"Did… that just happen?" Rikka would ask, still unsure what was even going on.
"...it might have." Marina would quickly rise from her spot in the pit box, assessing the damage. The car barely even got out of it's garage stall before the accident. "I'll get everyone ready to get to the paddocks, I'll see you there. Everyone, get back and we'll try and fix this for tomorrow!" She'd rush down to the pits after all the cars vacated the lane and rushed to the back.
Rikka would stay atop of that pit box, sighing to herself and having her head in her hands and glaring at the pit crew across from her. "Oh, it had to be the little girl playing goddess and programming a soul in ones and zeros…"
Meanwhile Yuki would pop up from behind the pit box, tilting her head. "Hey, where is everyone? What happened? Is it over?"
"We're behind the wall, we got into an accident right on pit road."
"Well, that stinks. But I got some hot dogs from the stand nearby, so maybe that will cheer you up?" Cue a dopey smile from the cat girl, holding up two hot dogs! One for Rikka and one for herself!
"...fine. Sorry I'm just in a bad mood all of a sudden, I thought I was going to enjoy a perfectly clean and fair practice session without any accidents on pit road from a silly maid robot to ruin my day."
"Wow Rikka, I've never seen you this angry. Not since Risa discovered your diary and drawings about your magical girl id--" She'd be immediately shushed with a finger to her mouth.
"Shhh. Don't say anymore. No one needs to hear that… plus… my poor Louise... I’m definitely having a talk with that little girl, a stern talking to..."
"What?! You already gave it a name?!" "Don't be so mean to her… I want her to have a nice first life so she can join us 20 years from now and come to us so happy we took great care of her…"
"Wait, don't tell me you're going to try and actually do witch craft to the car! The writer said she desperately needed less of these characters!”
Rikka would give up and chomp on that hot dog with Yuki, before hearing the sounds of a crash and tires flying everywhere, with a McLaren slowly driving down pitroad without a front right wheel. The two would simply stare as the robot maid simply carried on down the road, well, right after Yuki would gather her bearings after nearly choking from the sudden sound.
“...so that’s what we’re dealing with?”

Paddock Pass Podcast Episode #20: Who are these guys? (Tecno Competition) Host: "Good evening folks and welcome to the Paddock Pass Podcast. As usual, I'm your host Shane Andrews and today we have an interesting guest, someone behind the team not necessarily new to competition but definately new to the Motorsports World. The CEO & Team Principal of Tecno Competition, please welcome Earl Johnson. Earl: "Thanks for having me, good to be here."
Shane: "So its been an interesting week and so far, you've left everyone going 'Who are these guys' so I think its only fair that you introduce what on earth has come out of nowhere today" Earl: "Well we're Tecno Competition, we're a team that's very much into competing where ever there's some engines and amazing tech involved. Originally it was started by five former Aircraft mechanics nine years ago who after their service with Aircraft in combat that they wanted to compete in air racing instead." Shane: "Oh wow, so these guys already had abit of the racing bug?" Earl: "Yeah, they had recently retired and went to one of the rounds of this Air Racing Series that were competing in Austrailia that year, want to say Melborne I believe, and they absolutely loved what they saw. Lightweight composite bodies, high power engines and pilots that were just on another level of insanity. And they decided right then and there that was what they wanted to do. Eight years and four championships later, here we are." Shane: "That's just amazing to hear, not a bad start. Where else does this team compete?" Earl: "We also compete in the Ocean Drag Boat Racing Series where we compete in the Category 1 class using these insane Jet engines, we're in our third season and we've got the strongest equipment yet" Shane: "So what brought you guys over to compete in the GT Master league? Another interesting challenge?" Earl: "We began looking at a car series to compete around fall and this caught our attention. As we did in the other series, we decided to start in the lower category to get a feel for things. Obviously, that's gone way better then we anticipated so far, but its a big season ahead so we got plenty of time to learn" Shane: "Your driver looks pretty sharp, can you tell us more about him?" Earl: "So Jason Irwin is an amazing and resilient talent we managed to find. He's a fast young guy who did really well in single seaters and had recently recovered from this massive accident he had two years ago, he's the world's first athlete to have a successful complete Leg replacement. If you were to look at him, you'd never tell that he lost his right leg in a snowmobile crash on the mountain. All he's wanted is to get back into competing and when we saw how quick he was, we knew we had to have him" Shane: "Wow, that's an incredible story. Sounds like you got a hungry driver as well" Earl: "Yeah, he's more then ready to get after it." Shane: "Well thanks for your time and giving us a better picture of you guys, sounds like you are competitors through and through. Wanna wish you good luck out there" Earl: "Thank you, been a pleasure and we're looking forward to it"

R1 POST RACE PHASE BEGINS!All team sheets have been updated. Now that the race is over, you'll need to tell me what changes you want to make to your Team. I'll have this laid out in a questionnaire format to make the flow of decision making easier. Did you crash out of the race, and if so, did you lose or damage any body panels? If so, refer to your Team Sheet and tell me if you want to Quick Fix or Standard Fix the Durability lost. Did you fail to finish because your car's engine blew? You lose half of the Durability remaining after Engine Mode subtraction. Any fractional DP should be rounded down. Have you spent 60 Support Points after all repairs and engine replacements? No? If so... What Upgrades do you want?Engine Enhance (+2 DP) costs 15 SP per engine. Chassis Enhance (+2 DP) costs 30 SP per car. Each +1 Tuning Point will cost you 20 SP. Remember that your spending is capped at a maximum 60 SP per Race.Tags:
