New Engine, -25 SP Engine Enhance, -15 SP +1 Tuning Point, -20 SP You have 3/10 Engine Durability, which is more than enough for this race. Do you still want to commit to this upgrade plan anyway? I was under the impression that engine blowup warrented a new engine. Post amended. |

Engine Enhance, -15 SP +1 Tuning Point, -20 SP You've already Enhanced this engine too. You wouldn't have needed it anyway - with your current Durability, you can Sprint or SuperSprint without additional penalties. |

"So, uh, Akiha? I just got a message from race control stating that we need to find a second driver for this race."
Akiha looked down at the message and scowled. "What do they mean, 'Mecha Tohru can't do the entire race by herself'? She's an A.I, she suffers not the physical and mental restraints of a mortal body."
Aaron shook his head. "I don't think they're saying she's incapable of doing it, they're saying that the rules require two drivers."
"Oh. I see." Akiha frowned. "Where the hell am I supposed to find a second driver at this late notice?" She stood up and began pacing, holding her hand to her chin. "They'll have to be at the track already, there's no time to bring someone in from outside. Ideally they'd be quick but maybe it's more important that they're a steady set of hands, since we'll only put them in for the minimum stint time and let Mecha Tohru do as much of the race as the regulations allow. Familiarity with the team would be a bonus, so that we don't have to waste time getting them used to our procedures." She kicked the pitwall in frustration. "Who am I kidding, there'd never be somebody that convenient."
She glanced at Aaron, who was holding a helmet and giving her a hopeful look.
"Well it just so happens..." he began.
"That's it!" Akiha exclaimed, drowning out whatever he had been about to say and snatching the helmet from his hands. "Who better to drive than myself?"
Aaron's shoulders slumped dejectedly. "I was actually going to say that I fit the criteria..." He tailed off. "Wait, Akiha, do you even have a competition license?"
"No" Akiha reached into her pocket and pulled out a business sized card. "But the me of this worldline does, so there shouldn't be any problem."
"But you were a touge racer, you've never done endurance racing before."
"How hard can it be? Old man Krieger is doing it and he probably needs to wear adult diapers."
"You're really tempting fate with a quote like that." Aaron sighed and shook his head, though his face showed a hint of a smile.
"Of course I am. In this worldline I am beloved by Fate..." Akiha winked at him playfully. "But it would be awfully boring if I didn't push the boundaries."
(OOC: Akiha Nakai will be the endurance co-driver for Project Vermillion)
